  1. Nope, sure couldn't! Everyone turned up their nose and went for the Toasted Marshmallow! I live in a very rural country area, and people seem to go for the more traditional "country" scents. Not sure if it's a bad batch or not, but the way you described it sounds right, it smells like Popaw!! TallTayl, I was thinking of trying the Red Maple Leaf. I've got some FL in the burner now, hoping maybe to pick up on something that I can enhance and make it a little more desirable.
  2. Here is the description of the scent from the website: At long last, this much-requested fragrance is available! Falling Leaves is a delightful fall fragrance! It is everything fall is. It is crisp leaves under your feet when you are walking through the park on a misty day. It is refreshing, delightful and clean. It is the cool brisk air and the smell of fall. Who can put a finger on that smell? I can't quit put my finger on it either, but it stinks! I made tarts in all my fall scent for a little sample sale, and this is all I have left, I can't even give it away :undecided Thinking about melting it down and adding a little something to maybe tone it down some? Any suggestions??
  3. I think it would sell like hotcakes, though probably not something I would carry... I am interested in what it smells like though!!
  4. HorsescentS, I'm glad you dug this up! Not only for Christmas, but I'm planning on doing the "Coal Festival" next summer, and I was wondering what scents to do for the chunks of coal!! I'm trying to find a scent to call "Summer Night" and another to call "Hillbilly Gold", not sure yet, but that's what I had in mind!
  5. YAY!!! Thank you!! They have already asked for "toot" scented candles, I told them there's no way someone makes that in an FO! Guess Mommy was wrong!!
  6. Btw, if you find a good "poop" smell, let me know! My boys are such pranksters, that would be right up their alley!!
  7. I found skunk fo, I plan on ordering some as a prank for one of the deacons at Church!!
  8. I carry Amish Quilt, and it sells like crazy! I melt the tarts and they seem to last forever. Some local competition carries Amish Harvest so I have decided not to mess with it, at least for the time being...
  9. This sounds very similar to the "deal" I had selling in my sil's shop, in which I got took. I would run, sounds like a rip off to me!!
  10. Amish Quilt is my favorite! It smells exactly like Celtic Moonspice to me, some have said Amish Harvest is not as sweet, maybe a little more cinnamon?? I haven't smelled it yet.
  11. A lady from church asked me if I collected jars, well it had never even crossed my mind! So she brought me a jar yesterday to make her a candle in, I believe it is a Yankee Candle jar, it looks like these from Lonestar... http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlecontainers_anchor-country-comfort-jar-16oz-w-glass-bubble-lid.html Ok so my question is before I jump in this and mess up, are there any differences in this and the pint Mason Jars? That's all I have ever used making a candle, are the same wicks going to be sufficient? I hate to make something and not test it, I might see if my local supplier carries these so I can test a few and get it right before I sell a mediocre/ or dis-functioning candle... Suggestions??
  12. I love these beautiful tapers! I can't wait to start making these.
  13. I do not color my jar candles, but I do my tarts and everything else.
  14. I was wondering what to add to it! I love ky's TM and already use it in a couple other blends, so I really don't want to have 2 Marshmallows! Thank you!!
  15. Are they comparable? Hot Maple Toddy is a super seller in my area, but AH/RE has Grandmother's Toddy, and I really want to stick to one supplier!!
  16. Yes soy does not look very pretty after burning, and its hard to get it looking pretty before!!
  17. Too funny! My mother in law taught me to crochet, she cant knit a stitch either!! I'm very blessed to have her
  18. You are a very talented lady!! That is so neat! How long have you been crocheting? I started earier this year and I had a little set back when our house flooded. I really need to get back to it!!
  19. Toasted Marshmallow smells *AMAZING* with Amish Quilt! I bet it would be good with Apple Cinnamon too!!
  20. I have never mixed the scents, but I think it sounds fantastic!
  21. I have a few big pretty containers I keep about 10 pounds in (since my work station is in the kitchen it makes in not as much of an eye sore) And the rest is in a closet sealed in rubbermaid tubs. Even if you weren't going to use them for wax forever, if you are anything like me you are always needing a tote for something!!
