  1. Oh I didn't even think about that!! Thank you!! I wasn't planning on buying for a week or 2 anyway, I need time to recover from this fundraiser, which will be done Friday, and next week I'm working on some new grubbies!! Thanks again, hope they don't lynch you too bad!!
  2. JaJC, this are super cute!! Ours looked a lot like that, only with the tag hanging from the material.
  3. I think I've got a little over a week, I joined August 1st.
  4. That's my supplier for wax, bags, and several scents, so I will probably try there's first. I'm trying to keep it down to as few suppliers as I can, ordering from so many different companies gets confusing!
  5. Love the idea!! When I made tarts for my sil's flower shop, we tied the bags with strips of material, and put kraft tags on them, the were so cute!
  6. Thanks guys for the input, Suzy, I still haven't really had the chance to check them out, maybe now would be the time to do so!
  7. Beezy- Thank you! I already have a straight Creme Brulee, so I just need to get some Sweet and Creamy. I haven't tried any Candy Corn yet, but I bought some tarts last year that really stunk, and I didn't want mine to be the same way!
  8. I'm looking for a really great super sweet Candy Corn scent. Anybody tried AH/RE's?? Suggestions? Thanks
  9. I have had several people asking me to add a spray to my line, I found the base at AH/RE, I was wondering if anyone had used this and what you thought of it? Also what is the best place to pick up the small spray bottles? I'm hoping I can get my testing done for this ASAP and have it available by Christmas (wishful thinking, I know)!! Any input is much appreciated!!
  10. All that math might make my brain explode! I'd start with the 8% FO and go up if it wasn't strong enough. I usually do a full ounce over to make room for error, my shaky hands, I usually spill some when I pour into molds. I have never tried the clamshells, but seriously considering it now that you have done all the math for me!! Just breath and have fun with it, it's all about trial and error.
  11. I haven't smelled it, but some of my friends were going on (and on and on )about it. I too had thought of trying to duplicate it, I always loved Glades fall line before I started making candles myself.
  12. I think they are gorgeous, perfectly fall!!
  13. JaJC, that would be awesome! I have been wanting to do the swappy thing so bad, but being a newbie I can't get in on it. You can message me after your one day sale, and we'll work up a trade! I'll send you a bag of my crumbles, hopefully I'll have a scent you love!! I haven't put mine in wax yet, I've got a tester that LOVES the Amish Quilt, thinking about doing a little swap-a-rooni on her and seeing if she can tell a difference!!
  14. I get my bags from AH/RE, I was buying at a local supplier, and paying $9 for 100 bags, so I was tickled pink to find them for just a fraction of the cost. I have spent a ton of money in the past in super pricey silicone molds. The past 2 days I have been making footballs and stars, footballs in a plastic chocolate mold I picked up from Amazon, and grubby stars in a super expensive mold from ebay, I paid 3x as much for. :embarasse Last night when I was washing them up I noticed some flaking on the silicone mold, which I have had less than a month! The plastic cheapo? Still perfect. In fact I know it will last me through several football seasons, the grubby star mold? Probably won't make it to Christmas. I wish I would have found this board before I started like you did Mia! You'll save tons with the food type molds!
  15. I got this sample with 2 lbs of Amish Quilt, and I was wondering if maybe they got it mixed up or something! I am so relieved to see that you thought the same! I have wondered what the Amish Harvest smelled like, I've not ordered from Peak yet, I think maybe once I get over this fundraiser fiasco and I can start testing again I will have to try it!
  16. You shouldn't need to use a spatula to spread it unless you let the wax cool a lot in the pot, just pour it at whatever temp is best for the wax and let it sit. When the wax is set, but still soft you can score it, then when it is set just break it apart and it makes nice little squares! As far as the type of wax you are using, I have never tried it, but I imagine it wouldn't be much different, as long as it is not a softer blend of wax, then but then they will be hard to remove from any mold.
  17. With the silicone molds, if you don't let the wax sit in them for a super long time, and wash with soap and water when you are done, they usually don't hold on to too much scent, but I have noticed some of the stronger scents do still linger. A very easy and inexpensive way that I have fallen in love with is making brittle, or crumbles. You just need a decent non stick jelly roll pan, for a "brittle" just break the wax into pieces after it has set completely. Crumbles are a little more complicated, you have to stir about every 5 minutes or so til the wax is hard. Kind of like browning hamburger, I use a little hand held scraper and fold and chop! I sell a lot of the crumbles, as a lot of people say, they are perfect for if you want just a little scent, or a lot, and it's also great for mixing scents, this is how I have come up with many of my creations!! HTH!
  18. I do say, 464 came out perfect every time, always a smooth top, but I had the same problem with the scent throw!
  19. I did not try the Xcel, just plain PB, maybe I will order a sample of each and see how it turns out for me!
  20. I gave up 464 too, I'm trying some 415, blending with a little KY 133 to up the scent throw, so far so good!
  21. I have been with 75% KY Parasoy tart blend, and 25% GB 415, and so far I have been nothing but pleased! I was using 50% of a local blend, tri 6380 and 50% M38, and was pleased with it, but thought I'd shop around a little bit. I went to Ecosoya Pillar Blend and hated it from the get go!
  22. I got my sample of Celtic Moonspice, it's sweet, and cinnamon, it is not at all what I was expecting! It, to me, smells a lot like Amish Quilt, which I love and already have in my line! But my son says it smells better, so I guess it all depends on your nose. I can't really tell a difference in the 2, so even though it smells wonderful, I probably won't carry it, since it is so close to the other.
  23. I'm not sure about the clam shells, but if you decide to go with the 2 oz cups w/ lids, someone posted lately that they now carry those at Walmart, it would be cheaper to get them there rather than RE. HTH
  24. Primitive decor is big in my area, so I knew I had to do a grubby potpourri! I've got Rose Hips curing now, they should be ready in about a week, but I was wondering if anyone else made these? Also what do you put with them? I have some grubby star molds, thought I would add some tarts too it, maybe cinnamon sticks to some scents, what else could I add? My brain is on overload! :undecided
