  1. Added color is great!! Makes your display warm and more inviting!
  2. I put my melts in two different places on my table with my candles in between. Customers seem to really like this and I can accommodate multiple groups at my display this way. People who like melts can shop at either end of my display and candle lovers can shop the middle of the display. It has been working extremely well for me!
  3. I used mine for the first time today too! It was great and so easy!!!
  4. I agree with Stella. . . .heat, wipe it, move on. . . The next FO will just make it disappear.
  5. I know nothing about twitter but wish I did!! But Jack, I do love my new 4s!! Get one - it is great! You will enjoy the grate camera and the Seri feature
  6. Congratulations on the new account!! They look great!
  7. A lot! Got a large wholesale order in today that we have start pouring for a new customer!
  8. Just got my new I phone 4s and my Square Up and I love them both!!!!! I've already taken phone orders and used my square up. This is so easy and the only way to go. Thanks to everyone for talking about it.
  9. Whenever I go to my craft shows I try to make a habit of going around to the other candle booths prior to opening and introducing myself. It always amazes me the number of those who sudden look like deer in headlights !! Lol They don't know if I should be treated as friend or foe. I have always believed that competition is good for my business. Also, if I know what other candle makers have at the shows, I can guide customers to them if I do not have what they are looking for. I also would not give away "secrets", but I am not afraid of competition.
  10. I always light a candle at my outdoor shows. I light one at my indoor shows after asking permission and have only been told no once and that one I left the lid off of my most "potent" candle and people could still smell it.
  11. It is the holidays. I would add appropriate holiday decorations to my display.
  12. I agree that you need color. I use a black tablecloth and then bright colored single yard material on top of the black to add color to the table (that does not wrinkle). You can also add seasonal flowers as well. My arrangement is L shape but allows them to come up to the table but not into the space. People come up to the table and we sell and show from the table. It has worked greT for us. We are active sellers and do not sit and wait for some one to say I want this. we explain about scents and wax and how to burn their candle. Your set up looks great - just add some color One other suggestion is not to make everything too "precise". People do not want to mess up something someone has worked hard to create. So set a couple of your soaps and candles out like some one has looked at them and set them back down. It's silly, but it works. Let us know how the next one goes. Olive what you are doing!!
  13. Great question! Thought I could put mine on the front of my table, but it is about 2 inches higher than the table. Not sure what I will do with it for my indoor shows.
  14. Jack, let us know how your show goes on Sat.
  15. I love doing shows where Scentsy is there. I sell tarts and electric melters as well as candles. My clamshells sell for $3.50 and Scentsy sells for $5.00. My melters sell for $25.00 and they get two free tart with that purchase. My plug ins sell for $16.00 and they get two free tart with that purchase. Scentsy cannot compete with me.I do not have to pay a commission and they do. Lol. Scentsy reps are everywhere. They are a dime a dozen. I sold sold Home and Garden Party (now Cebrating Home) and was very successful but success in this type of pyramid business is infrequent. Most people sign up and have no sales experience. They do not last long. Scentsy is making money selling inventory to their reps!! Have you seen how much inventory these people carry?? I was at a show last week that we estimated they had over $3000.00 in inventory and we saw very few Scentsy bags being carried around by customers. Our tart sells however were outstanding as well as our melters. My point is that Scentsy has done us a great favor - they have created a great market for us to sell our hand poured products which are much better than theirs and at a price much better than theirs. Remember, competition breeds sells!!!
