  1. Thank you BTA - it was a lot of work, but it gave us a great feeling of accomplishment when we finished. We are ready for more!!!
  2. Vinegar will help take the pain out of a burn. My grandmother used it for kitchen burns. I have also used it for sunburns. (First put the burned area under cold water to stop the burn) I am accident prone and this alwas helps me.
  3. The pouring is complete! The candles have been package and are ready to ship! 10 days of pouring ( 6 really hard pouring days) and it is finished - all 650+!! Now we can sit back and enjoy the holidays! Merry Christmas to all of you!!!
  4. My husband is a mathematical whiz! He says to pour till it over flows - that should be enough. He always a big help to me when I am doing my twodums. Lol
  5. Hope someone can help you. I understand. I have never been good at twodums - you know - - - twodums two is four, twodums three is six! Lol
  6. I use several of Lonestars scents. They are not my only supplier for FOs as I cherry pick from about 3 different companies, but I am very pleased with the scents that I get from Lonestar. I must tell you that I have excellent service from Lonestar! They ship quickly and I love that they have the hundred weight shipping discount. I have nothing bad to say about this company or the products that I have purchased from them.
  7. I bought the Iphone4s as soon as it came out in Oct. Just so I could use the Square up. Square up has been a great addition to my business! The IPhone has also become an asset to me as well. I take great pictures with it and I can now carry those pics with me anywhere.
  8. Thank you Scented!!! The pouring has begun. Lol
  9. Thank you Jeanie! Blacktie - as you can guess, we have a lot of work ahead of us for the next 3 weeks!! Lol
  10. I am so excited!! :yay:Today we got our first order from one of our new wholesale accounts. It was for 650 candles and this is just the beginning order. This is a large account that has 8 stores and will be opening about 10 more after the 1st of the year. This has been a wonderful year for us. We have picked up several new wholesale accounts and our craft shows have double in sales as well. Please excuse me for bragging a little, but we have worked very hard this year and I am just so pleased. This forum has been so important to me. I have a very extensive business background, but what I have learned on this forum from all of you has been extremely valuable!! Thank you all! I hope you will share in my excitement!
  11. Come on Clueless. You asked for advise and you got honest answers from people who have been doing this a long time. You may not have got the answers you wanted, but the answers were based on a LOT of experience from very talented people. On this forum, I have asked questions and got some answers that were very brash, but you can't wear your feeling on your sleeve. You have to take the answers and figure out if they are valid for your situation. Patting you on the back and telling you to jump in with both feet is not always good advise. Not only should you have a great product, you have to have a marketing plan and a business plan. It sounds like you have a product that you are pleased with, but do not have your marketing plan or business plan which includes liability insurance. There are a lot of crafters who jump in with both feet and can't figure out why they are not making any profit. No one wants to upset you. If you just want a little hobby that is one thing, but if you want a business then pay attention to the experience that is found on this forum. I did and it is really paying off for me! Hugs and good luck!!,
  12. If these cost 9.70, then they should retail for $20.00. (unless of course you are going up against Kroger. If so, you may not want to carry them.)
  13. Way to go!!!! Isn't all this fun? You just never know what might happen next!
  14. Just google Tranquility Fragrance Oil. The suppliers that carry it will pop up. You may want to order 1 oz samples from them to be sure it is what you want.
  15. I am so sorry to hear that some of you are giving up on craft shows! We too have had to deal with craft shows that allow "distributors" in. However, it has not hampered our sells. I believe that in many ways it has increased our sells as customers walk by these distributors looking for hand crafted items. As for shows that allow Scentsy in ---- I have said before on this forum that having them can be a help to me. I beat their prices, I offer a great product and I have enough sales experience that I can go head to head with them in sales ability. Our Craft Show sales this year have almost doubled. Please keep in mind that my husband and I do not just sit in our booth as I have seen many crafters do. We are there to sell and that is what we do. We are constantly speaking to our customers, telling them about our products and making suggestions on how to use them in their home. We will continue to do craft shows. They are a lot of work, but they are also a lot of fun. The feed back that we have received from these shows has bolstered us into the wholesale market as well. This is something that my husband and I started doing together as a hobby, but it is rapidly becoming a business. Our craft shows have been our key to success.
  16. I would not worry too much about the "China" candles. She may sell a few, but most shoppers are pretty savvy and will realize what they are - $3.00 items for $6.50 lol. I bet you will do just fine at your show.
  17. My husband was a skydiving instructor for many years. A person once asked him what it would cost to learn to be a skydiver. He answered that to jump out of an airplane would cost $100.00, to be a skydiver would cost $10,000.00. The same could be said about making candles - To make a candle cost very little, to become a chandler is very expensive.
  18. Thank you guys! Our shows have just gotten better and better this year! This is one of our larger set ups as the show gave each vender plenty of room to work with. There was less than 300 people that attended this show, but we sold almost $700.00 which made for a really good show! The percentage of buyers was VERY high.
  19. Thank you Candy. I do not like clutter either. It makes it easier for my customers to shop.
  20. Had a great show on Saturday! Not alot of people but lots of sales!!!!
  21. I use black tablecloths as my base and then use a colored piece of material on top. The black base makes my top cloth and candles "pop". My top cloth is 2 yards of a material that I think is called piani (sp). I have different colors for different seasons. I then use clear lucite type risers to display my candles.
