I think it's Cindy that owns it right? She is very opinionated for sure and thru the years there have been many people unfortunately that have had run ins with her from time to time. I have had good dealings with here years ago when they supplied my wax but I haven't be there in a very long time. Their oils are very weak and I mean really weak. I won't even waste a second on them as there are better places out there. Your the client....you call and tell them what you want to order. If they give you a hard time tell them again...this is what you want as it's your money....I don't think they will turn you away. If they don't help you, do what the rest of have done and move on to another supplier for the samples. Good Luck!

Mineral oil is used a lot in candle making. It's also from what I was told used a lot in fragrance oil as a carring agent.

I've seen that at times in candles where the wick starts out strong but after a few burns the flame gets weaker and weaker thus the melt pool is not as big or hot as the original lighting and that will effect the hot scent throw. Is the flame drowning towards the third burn?

Thanks for the input! Going to try adding a little of this and a little of that in a few different samples to see if it helps. Maybe a straight paraffin will help? Time to experiment!

yes I actually did know that and forgot to list them! Thanks for reminding me. I never did like their FOs though. They were really weak and I haven't gone back to them in years. I use to get my MP125 from them and J50 when Astorlite made it. I haven't found one wax since that compares to the original J50 and I tried them all 4630, 4633. 4627.. Etc....I was really disappointed when they sold out :-(

I live about 50 minutes from Candlewic, Fillmore Container and CJ Robinsons. Sad part is I don't like any of their waxes!

Quick question Steve....I have just tested for the last few months a ton of waxes. CBL 130, CBL125, 3 HouseBlends from CJ Robinson(1278,1282,6356) GB 464 and GB444. I tried them all straight with 8% FO loads. I also blended some with paraffin. I sampled different wicks CDs, LXs and HTP in each blend. I keep coming back to 3022 Hands down has the best throw in all of my tests. A blend of GB464 and some paraffin came close. The one thing I have problems with the 3022 is the cold throw. I have a Christmas Tree scent that is super strong and fills the house when lit but pop the lid off and it's very weak. Clients buy from the cold throw but come back if the candle burns well and the hot throw is good. Any ideas how to improve the CT?

Save yourself some money instead of putting your first batch of wax into fire starters. Go get a really cheap deep frying shortening probably cost you about $20.00. Fill it turn it on and let it sit for a bit than drain it out and clean it again. Let the shortening take the first residual smell out. After that, you should be good to go with your wax.

That first Tester Really is good. I looked at it this morning to see hoe the tops setup and it looks just as smooth as when it was made. Ran out to the workshop and Just made another tester this morning, I hope the majority of my testers come out as strong and burn as clean. I ll keep you posted but this wax seems to be a great wax. Very creamy and great for mixing.

I went on a testing binge and finally tried a sample of 464. Did a 13oz candle with a small amount of paraffin. 1oz Christmee Tree from Fillmore Container and OMG, this candle is so strong! It smells as strong as my old J50 wax when Astor use to make it. Really impressed. Can't wait till tomorrow to make a few more testers with other scents. Does anyone else primarily use this wax?

Two Big Turkey fryers with a spout and automatic temp setting. Great Investment! Heating on the range is too scary.

Yep I agree...was just hoping maybe we had a very technical chemist here that may shed some light on what we could add or mix to get close to that type of wax.....unfortunately, not many chemists are here maybe? I know Topof Murray Hill was really educated but haven't seen a post from him or her in a long time!

I'm not I have no problem with them. They burn fine..... I'm just trying to figure out what BBW wax is. Every soy based wax I tried, burns differently than how their wax melts. Mostly all the soy mixes go down just alittle bit than out to a full melt pool. BBW burns out, not down.

Hi Candybee, LOL it's funny I know what your saying but it's all perception. I have made candles for over 10 years and I've burned all kinds of waxes from IGI and Astor and some homemade blends. If you burn a soy candle, it melts down than out. BBW seems harder...it doesn't create that down effect at all....it just burns out to the edges. Yes that is very non technical but I have been doing this a longtime by myself with no technical advice so this is the best way I can explain it...sorry.
