  1. Just got my candles into a mall and I am excited. I have included pictures of my display and one of my candles. I hope the pics show up.
  2. I am having trouble posting some pics. I can download from my computer, but cannot get them to drag to the second box. I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Carol, I would love to see your air freshness. Do you have pics u could share?
  4. Steve is this the first year that they have had this event? If not, they should have more information or a list of previous vendors that you might call for information about attendance. If this is the 1st year, I would go for it. The people who go there have the ability to buy multiple candles at a time and could be future business for this fall.
  5. Thank you Steve!! My husband Scott, does my pouring. I will have him go to a 12 and see if that helps! Scott and I started our candle co after he retired from the military a little over a year ago. We have beautiful container candles, but have been having problems with pillars. We will definitely try your suggestion.
  6. I am having problems with my pillars. I use feather palm and a CSN 11wick on a 3" pillar. My candles "blow out" about 1/2 " from the top. I will be trying a CSN 9 next, but I believe that that will be too small of a wick. (I have read on this forum that most people use the CSN 11) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
  7. I have not been impressed with wood wicks. My testing shows them to produce soot and a high flame (no matter how short I trim the wick). The "crackling" is very soft - more of a hiss than a crackle. They make a novel candle, but not a pretty burning candle. I'm anxious to see what other people think
  8. Stella - you are a hoot!! Thanks for a good laugh, I needed it today.
  9. http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/ClearTopSquareTin.html I found some with clear lids at this web site. I have not tried them myself.
  10. Sorry about the timing Steve. I just saw the price decrease too. I'll have to get my order together. Have a great day!
  11. Love your angel home page. I too would like to see pics of your candles.
  12. I would start with a nice newspaper ad that explains that your product can only be found on your web site or by calling you. I would then call or email all of my old customers (small town should make that fairly easy to do). Tell each customer that you have now gone out on your own and would love to have their continued business. Do not say anything bad about about your previous employer or workplace. The high road will always be better.
  13. I absolutely agree with Stella. I was just asked yesterday if I would refill a container and said no due to safety reasons. I only use containers that are candle safe from known candle container distributers. I also refuse to use mason jars as I always felt they were made for food - not candles. I love my candle business, but safety comes before profit.
  14. I would like a copy as well! Valorie@wamego.net Thank You!:rolleyes2
  15. Last year I used wooden crates to give my table eye appeal. I also bought a black tablecloth (Target). It cover the table down to the g round. I also bought 1 - 2 yard squares of bright colored material to place on top of the black tablecloth. I use the wooden crates to show off my products. This year I have invested in clear risers to place on my table. Last year I used one 6 foot table. This year I will be using 2:cheesy2:
  16. I'm using Nature's Garden. I like it, but I have not yet tried to sell it. My first show with it will be later this month. I hope it sells!
  17. I've never tried something like this, but i wonder if you would have better luck with palm wax ( feather or star ). Palm wax tends to have a natural tunneling feature. Wick would depend on size of cone.
  18. Hi Shellie! Just recently found this site and love it! My husband and I love making candles. Actually, he does the pouring and I do the marketing. He tells me that I am management and he is labor . You will love candle making! Enjoy!
  19. Get some "stick um" and use your wick holders and that should take care of the problem. W always adhere the wick to the bottom of the container. Good luck
  20. Always listen to your "gut". If it doesn't feel right,it probably isn't right. Verify, verify, verify. Large orders should always be verified with the bank before shipping.
