  1. Well when I was at the trademark search it looks like they own that name then let it lapse and reregistered it again in March of this year. When they let it lapse the lost the ability to do a whole lot. Say you named your candle last fall at that time there was no live trademark, when you were made aware that there is now a trade mark you took steps to correct the issue no judge will grant them anything. I would not sign anything that says you are guilty when you are not. Here is where you can do trade mark searches http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=searchss&state=4801:k6q60d.1.1
  2. If your item is called Frasier Fir you have to remove that name from your stuff I just did a trademark search and yes they do own the name for these uses. All purpose cleaning preparations; soap, namely, bar soap, hand soap, liquid soap and perfumed soap; dishwashing preparations; hand lotions; Reed diffusers comprised of scented oils and also including reeds and a diffuser container; room fragrance preparations, namely, home fragrance mist. The candle issue is iffy but I would bet a judge would side with them because of "room fragrance preparations"
  3. The cold and hot throw is why I ended with a parasoy blend. I wanted 100% soy also but it just was not to be. I could never quite get my wicking down with palm in a container well at least the container I was using at the time. I love palm pillars to this day they are my favorite pillar candles.
  4. I know I started over a few times in the beginning. Let us know how it turns out.
  5. You can whip any wax but pillar waxes will hold over time better. I usually whip a 50/50 mix of soy pillar wax and gel wax. That is just my mix you do not need gel wax to make a good whipped wax.
  6. Bigger package need to go UPS or FedEx. A really good thing is have account with both. Weigh then print your shipping labels online if you pay that way you save money over going to the counter. Also for really large shipping look in to truck shipping R&L is a good one to go through. Even check with them for anything around 100 lb mark you might be surprised at the shipping cost. Also UPS has a truck rate for large freight which is different that regular shipping.
  7. There are some really inexpensive way to create a light box, I have bought a few and honestly my favorite is the one I made out of a card board box. This is a good tutorial for making one
  8. You are not doing anything wrong. You can get rid of them in the short term. I fought with wet spots for a long time then embraced them and went on. That and frosting was why I went with no dye in my candles the natural look of the wax hides them better.
  9. Wet spot are like a fact of life. The thing with wet spot is one day they will be there and next they will be gone then they will be back. It is all about expansion and contract of the wax which happens with temperature change, barometer pressure.
  10. It will depend on the feel of your store if you are rustic or shabby sheek not so much. They do not fit with high end elegant either. Those type of signs fit better with a modern look. You signage needs to reflect the store itself.
  11. Yes it is caused by the shape. It use to drive me nuts. Few things you can do, make sure the glass is really clean, make sure you are pouring hot enough that the air has time to rise. I found if I cooled them slowly I had less issues.
  12. Welcome to the board Sugarfoot we are glad to have you here.
  13. That is okay we all mess up. Welcome to the board.
  14. That is not surprising candles are used in most events. Plus people usually buy candles for themselves candles really are a personal item.
  15. Part of it is here https://m.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php There is another part but I am on my kindle having problems finding it with this stupid thing. You can encourage sharing and liking you just can not make it required for an entry. It turns it in to a raffle and then falls under federal gaming laws. As I understand it you can say for entry comment on this post. Why one is not okay and one is okay I do not understand
  16. Well Facebook now does not allow the Like us on Facebook or sharing entries anymore. I found this and I love it. https://www.rafflecopter.com/ It is a great way to do a giveaway. It also keeps you with in these places rules.
  17. Hi Shannon welcome to the board.
