You may be pouring at too high a temp for that wax or the FO may be the problem. I used to use 464 and I poured mine between 125-130 degrees. I never had any candles do that when burned except for one and I determined it was the particulatar FO. For some reason the 464 did not like April Fresh Downy. I have made the same candle using the Advanced wax and it burns and looks awesome from start to finish. I also would get the frosting with the 464. But your pic looks exactly like the April Fresh Downy candle I had in the 464.

I have made just 2 batches so far of the Excel and the only difference I came across was that you didn't get the pull away from the Excel as you do with the Advanced. I made these back in July when it was 90 some degrees here and I did not have any bleeding or any other problems. I use Advanced BTW, I used to use 464 and hated the frosting so I went to Advanced and haven't looked back. I don't blend any of them with paraffin b/c well I prefer to have and offer soy not a soy blend, just my personal preference though and most of the people here are getting away from paraffin altogether. Not bashing any paraffin users or blenders out there. I need to get around to doing some more testing with the Excel but I just haven't had the time...yet.

lmao, yeah I was wondering if the scent stingy candle maker got her tutorial from the hella hella good ghetto candle lady....BAM!! Check out her wicks and if they are matches or toothpicks or whatever the hell that supposed wick was and we'll know for sure

omg that is some serious nerve if I ever heard it.... I can't see how she can have repeat customers if 90% of her candle is extremely weak in scent. Good luck and I hope if she's the other candle maker there you kick her butt in sales!!

I'm rather new to the B&B part so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have a pre-mixed lotion base that requires 1 oz of body safe FO for the entire gallon. I want to use the base to make multiple scents so I don't want to use one whole gallon for 1 scent. My question is how much FO would I use to make smaller batches of lotion. Say I want to make 6 8 oz jars of lotion with the same scent, what would the % of FO need to be. Thanks so much for any help!!!

I have 2 presto pots going at the same time for several hours when making candles and there's no big change in my electric bill. So I would think that they do not use too much. Has your electric company increased their rates recently? Running the AC more than usual or at a lower temp than normal? Any other factors that may be using more electric than normal? I just checked on the box of one of the presto pots and it states 1300 watts. HTH

I got some from MC once b/c Alabaster was sold out and they were bigger than Alabaster's and I had a helluva time getting them closed. Aztek also has them and Cierra Candles is where I got the last ones I ordered (they are the same as Alabaster's). What I have found is to check the exact dimensions on AL's site and compare that to the other suppliers dimensions if they have them listed (actual drawing of clamshell with dimensions) that way I make sure I don't end up with the ones that are a devil to close.

I have NOT tried ICS's b/c I tried JS and fell in love with it so I had no need nor desire to try any others. This one is awesome and has great HT. I had an 8 oz candle burning in my kitchen (which is very large and open) and I could smell it in the bathroom in the back bedroom. It was like I had one burning right there. I made some air fresheners with it friday night and I can still smell them today... the air fresheners have been packaged up and are in a closed container... this stuff is strong!! Big seller for me!!

Have any of you found a replacement for KY's soy body butter? I loved this stuff so thick and fluffy and they no longer have it due to the supplier changing the formula which was no way comparable to the previous formula. I got some from another supplier that had all the same ingredients but it's kinda thin and I'm just not happy with it. I hope someone has found some somewhere and will share their find. Thx

I agree every fundraiser I have done they always have a Apple Scent (usually Hot Apple). I let the organizations pick the scents they offer and ask them to pick 10-15 scents. All that I have done really appreciate getting to pick their own scents. Hot Apple Pie is always a huge seller. You have a nice list there and you definately can't go wrong with Love Spell (it's always the top seller). Good Luck with the fundraiser!! PS Honeysuckle is a huge seller too.... I don't personally care for it but I'm more the sweet, food, bakery type scent kinda gal

Anyone know of a place to get the small ceramic tart burners that use tealights to melt the tart?? Where I used to get them no longer carries them and I know who their supplier was but am hesitate to order from them as the reason the other place stopped getting them was poor customer service and multiple breaking when they rec'd shipments. Any help is appreciated. Thx

I use JS Monkey Business and honestly I sell more in air fresheners than in candles. Everyone however has to smell the candle just to see what a monkey fart smells like and almost everyone likes the scent, but, it's not a big seller in candles for me... maybe people in KY just don't like Money Farts... maybe I should get one called Horse Shit and they'd fall all over it since we are the Derby State.... lmao:laugh2:

Yeah when they first introduced the scent there was no descrip so I sent them an email asking for one and that's how I found out it was a dup of BBW's. I LOVE this scent!!

I haven't tried Peaks but Aztek has one that is dead on... People love this in soy body butter.
