  1. I've seen a few places online where you can make your own scent booster like the unstoppables. They use epsom salt and essential oils. Have any of you tried doing this? How well did it work? Have you tried using fragrance oils instead of essential oils? Any input would be appreciated. I'm looking into making my own for my own use, not to sell. Thanks
  2. Have you tried any local printing companies in your area? I use a local one and went in with my logo, designed how I wanted the layout, colors, fonts, etc and the size and shape of the label. Going off memory (with the amount I order each time) they come out to be about 7 cents each. Anyway just a thought I figured to throw out there as you won't have shipping charges and you can design the label in person. Saving the shipping costs might make it more affordable.
  3. I've had it happen from time to time. Maybe out of a case of 875 I'll get one or two that do it. They've always leaked though as soon as I poured so I was able to just pick it up quickly and pour into another mold. The ones that have done that I'll inspect and find a tiny little pin hole.
  4. I've never ordered from her but have been tempted a few times. Like Sliver said she has some cool and unique things, but, reading others issues with her in the past has kept me from giving her a try. Good luck! Be sure to let us know how it finally turns out.
  5. I agree with everyone as well. With friends like that who needs enemies, cut her loose and don't look back. Maybe one day she'll realize what she did and that she lost a friend because of it. Then again so many people live in their own little worlds that are all about them no matter how unfair or rediculous they may be. Good luck to you!
  6. I came across some candles recently. One they did the normal soy vs parrafin thing that has been debated many times on here, had the triple scent claim and claimed a burn time that I just can't imagine from the size candle it was. They looked horrible, crusty, flaky tops and had some odd kinda thing going on in the candle itself. It looked like no candle I've ever seen. It looked solid, then looked like it was liquidy with all kinds of odd looking bubbles, then solid again. I've seen come crusty tops before but never like this. I wouldn't even give these away let alone sell them. But to each his own I guess. Anyway the main purpose of posting is that they had smelly jelly lids on them (with no other covering under the lid) so the CT was pretty weak. I suppose from having no protection from air letting the scent weaken over time. That wasn't the problem though, they called these fire safe lids and were saying you could burn them with these lids on. :shocked2:I've never heard that or seen any other candles have something like this. My first reaction was fire hazard and lawsuit waiting to happen. I can only imagine how hot that lid would get escpecially on a power burn. Any thoughts on this fire safe lid?
  7. Those look great, good enough to eat!! Makes me want to go make some muffins to eat now. Great job!!
  8. The reed diffuser base I used from Taylored Concepts said the same thing. They also said and I've seen it on numerous other sites that DPG clogs the reeds so you want to NOT use a base with DPG. That's my understanding. They weren't a huge seller around here.
  9. Very nice pics. Your pics always look so inviting and professional. Good luck, hope you make tons of sales!
  10. My first thought was coffee also. Saturday's around here are sleep till the cat tells me it's time to eat unless we have something to do that I have to get up for. Sunday's are more the breakfast cooking thing, atleast at my house.
  11. You might check out obiwholesale.com also. I think that's where vista gets alot of their warmers from or they get them from the same place as obi. Obi is a little bit cheaper on their prices though and also dropship. You have to sign up with them (you have to have a tax ID number) and if I remember correctly it's either $100 or $150 minimum order. You can get them by the case which makes them a little cheaper as well as opposed to getting 1 or 2 in a particular style. Something to look into when you get your business up and running for selling. And to answer your question it's pretty much what Sliver said. Sometimes you can't get double your cost, but, you do need to consider what you spent shipping and all.
  12. The sale isn't over until April 3rd so you still have time to get in an order. Atleast get some savings on some that you've used and possibly might need more of.
  13. I believe Candlemakers Store has them as well. They also have the sachet envelopes in Kraft and white colored.
  14. Thanks. Yes they can be a pain trying not to overfill or spill while pouring. The first 2 are silicone molds and the others are plastic. The plastic ones are more of a pain due to them not being as deep as the silicone ones. I wanted to do something different than the usual clamshell and the fluted style. I do alot of the clamshells but everyone seems to really like these as well. And Jeanie yes I hope my boys play like they did in the second half against Florida. It'd be nice to send Big Blue Nation home with a big fat L.... lol We need to stay outta foul trouble for sure.
  15. Thanks.... but I hope you're wrong on Kentucky winning.... Louisville needs to kick their you know whats
  16. Here's a couple soy melts I've done recently. Both of these are college teams in my state who will be playing each other in the final four next week. The first one is my team and the scent is Mac Apple. The 2nd is Blueberry Cheesecake.
  17. I beleive it was Black Tie Affair who has a thread about Aztek's FO's that she's gotten and did reviews on. Not sure what wax she uses and I think I remember her saying she did soap also. You might get some ideas from her thread. I've not used alot of their oils, but, the ones I have used have been really good. Ones I can think of off my head are Hawaiian Tropics, Twilight, Dark Kiss, Muscadine, Banana, Spicy Apples & Peaches, Hollyberry Mistletoe, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Birthday Cake, Brown Sugar & Fig. I don't use parasoy (only soy) and I don't do soap so this may be of no help at all. I know I've used more, those are just the ones I can recall off my head.
  18. I can't answer how many will fit in a bag, or what size bag, but, the candlemakers store sells different sizes of these bags in smaller quantities than 1000. I know they sell them in 100 but I don't remember if they have any smaller quantity than that. I buy my bags from them.
  19. Just to update, I was able to print my label at my moms house. I scheduled a pickup for today and wouldn't you know it, the box is still sitting there. Mailman is always here early. Usually he's been here before I get home from work or shortly after but 3:36 and no sign of him yet. First label problems with them, now the mailman seems to not be working today....ugh!!! I've been reimbursed for all but one transaction where the label didn't print. That one has been over 24 hours ago so I guess I'm gonna have to contact them to get that money back. Thanks for all the responses. Glad I wasn't the only one who's having issues with them.
  20. I let it sit for awhile in between tries and the box never came up. It did the processing thing then straight to did your label print correctly. I clicked no everytime and have gotten emails showing where they replaced my money except for one I did today. The only one I've gotten on that transaction is where they charged my account. I used paypal everytime as I remembered some of you having issues with them overcharging your account. I'm going to try to do it from my mom's computer later and see if that works. If not I'm just gonna have to ship it UPS or FedEx and pay the difference. The regional rate box was the cheapest shipping so that's why the customer went with it. I'm really hoping it works at her house b/c after my 40 minute dealing with FedEx trying to print my other label today I'm not looking forward to another issue with printing a stinking label.
  21. So I am having one heck of a time trying to print my postage via USPS. I have been trying for days now to print one stinking label and it just isn't working. It acts like it's going to, does the processing thing but nothing happens after that other than the screen where it asks you if your label printed. I was ready to toss my laptop and printer across the room last night I was so frustrated with it. So I get home from work and try again still same thing is happening. Going to the PO is not an option since it's in a regional box, they won't do anything there. I am so annoyed!! I am tired after working and spending 40 minutes at FedEx this morning for them to try to print my label for another order. I have the latest Adobe, and I've printed other things with no problem so it's not my printer. Anyone having issues or have any suggestions?? Thanks
  22. I carry both as well. Sales are about the same and I plan to continue to carry both. Some people want the plate ones so they can do both melts and candles, while others only do melts so they may prefer the light bulb style. Then there are the ones that want the prettier ones so they go for the light bulb style. I personally use both, just depending on my mood and what I'm melting. Doesn't help you much with your question, I know. Is there a particular reason you don't want to offer both anymore?
  23. Well costs may be going up again for the carriers. Don't know what any of you are paying for gas but news said it's going up tomorrow to over 4.00 a gallon here.
