  1. Any updates on this one?? Just had a customer ask for it and it's not one I've ever used before so starting from scratch on this one. I use soy btw. Thanks!!
  2. The only one I can be of any help on is the Frosted Pumpkin.... Love Love Love it!!! I am selling this one like crazy!!
  3. your very welcome!! Hope they work great for you... let us know how they do in soy if you get some.
  4. The only other place I can find Hollister is at Bert's, but, if you search the forum here on fragrance discussion you'll find that it didn't get very good reviews in soy. Didn't see any reviews for the one's at Just Scent. HTH
  5. Haven't tried them, but, Just Scent has some Hollister dup's. Any of the other dup's I've used from them have been dead on and really really good. HTH.
  6. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but, since you use M&P I thought this is where it should go. Have any of you made the soap dipped petals and or leaves? I have everything I need or so I think just need some advise or any tips, trials and errors any of you would like to share. I would like to try this soon, but, time may not allow me to do so with this being the busy season. I have some packages of the silk fall leaves that I'm dying to do with this being fall and all so I hope I can fit it into my schedule. I guess basic things I need to know what temp to heat the M&P to, amount of FO (I know this needs to be skin safe) etc. Any help and or tips you can give I greatly appreciate it!! Thanks!! Oh and how many did you package in one package and what did you charge. I know this will vary on the location and cost of materials just looking at a rough figure.
  7. Right now big surprise is all the fall scents. Autumn Harvest, Fall Harvest, Pumpkin Spice, Frosted Pumpkin, Mulled Cider and people are loving the Mac Apple. Hot Apple Pie and Cinnamon Stick are selling as well but the others are going like crazy.
  8. One that I really like is Niagara Falls Mist. I'm not normally the clean scent kinda girl for my own preference, but, this one I really like. I also like the April Fresh Downy and Gain. All these sell very well.
  9. 1. soy 2. 8 oz jars 3. depends on the show, sometimes more candles, sometimes more tarts and sometimes it's about even 4. ky 5. happy with the line for now, but, always adding new scents. I am going to attempt to do the soap dipped leaves and petals when I have the time and see how those go.
  10. Nice baskets!! I think what Candy Bee meant was the font you are using on the forum... it is tiny... good thing I have really good eyes..lol
  11. GREAT!! Hope you find the Dup!! I looked a little more and JS was still the only one that said it was a "type" but for some reason it didn't list what it was a type of. Hope it's the one you're looking for!!
  12. I've had a request for lemon. Anyone know any good lemons that work great in soy? I'm assuming she was wanting a straight lemon scent. Thanks!!
  13. Most of the clamshell tarts I sell I have in the candles so I tell them if they would like to smell them feel free to smell the candle. Most people do that or they say they can smell them through the plastic without opening. I really haven't had much problems with mine getting opened and broken...knock on wood!! PS you could always sell the ones you have that are "not so nice looking" at a discounted price if you don't want to use them yourself.
  14. I find it rather strange that people still think that name brand, more expensive means better. Especially in today's economy that people are still so willing to pay double the price for something just b/c they think it's better not knowing for sure that it is. I used to be one of those I gotta have the $85.00 pair of jeans, but, I realized they get holes just the same as the 20.00 ones and I found that they didn't last any longer being expensive and name brand. Same thing applies here. As a matter of fact I had a lady approach me at a show we did yesterday who told me she had bought some of our "tarts" last year at this show and she loved them. She said she also had gotten some of the name brand expensive ones (and she did say the name also) and she was very disappointed in them as were her grand daughters. She wanted to let me know that she thought mine were better. Gotta love that kind of praise... now if others would catch on to the concept it would help out so many of us who actually put our time, passion and love into making our products. Another thing I just thought of is if someone wants a particular scent that one of us candlemakers doesn't have we would get that scent to make them just for that customer. Are any of these name brand more expensive companies gonna do that for one person....NO!! So aside from all the other factors that seperate us little people from the big companies...customer service and the lengths that many of us will go to for a customer. Us little people actually care about our customers, do you think any of the big companies know who you are or remember what scents you normally buy or even care a bit whether you are happy with your purchase or not?? This should speak volumes to people.
  15. Perfect Autumn Apple at Just Scent says Type but doesn't list the type so you may contact them to see if it's the same... all I've found so far that actually says type.
  16. Bath and Body Works has one called Autumn Apple (Slatkin and Co). I did a search for Autumn Apple candle scent and some came up but don't know if they are dup's or just ones with the same name but are different. If I find a dup I'll let you know. Oh and she may have meant Bath and Body Works as I've come across several people who say Bed Bath and Beyond but meant the other. I guess the Bath in both gets them confused and they just say the first one that pops in their head??? HTH
  17. Sorry you had a bad show, but, your set-up is gorgeous!!! Very neat and organized!!!
  18. We had a similiar expereince last weekend. It was promoted as a hand-made, hand-crafted art fair and no selling of products that were not hand-made. We along with all the other vendors had to send pictures of our products and pic's of us actually hand crafting them to prove they were indeed hand made and not something bought and was being resold or that they were avon, scentsy, pampered chef etc. There were a few vendors there (one was scentsy, another was a person with children's books I think it was osbourne or something like that and another that had spices or something) all of which were not hand-made by the vendor but they were rep's for these companies and trying to sell the products. We did inquire as to why they were allowed when they specifically stated they would not be allowed and the answer was this.... They did not have enough hand-made vendors to apply so to fill the remaining spaces they opened it up to other vendors simply to fill the spaces. This was a juried committee as well and they said they allowed what they deemed to be the least offensive (as far as non hand-made items). They did however put all three next to each other in the back. I sympathize with you as it did make me angry as well that they were allowed after all we had to do to prove we made our products. And I would be steaming mad if I were in your position and the non hand-made vendors had the premier spot. All worked out for us as we kicked their butts, but, nonetheless if you're going to make rules then all need to adhere to them, not change the rules so you can make some money by allowing the ones you specifically stated would not be allowed. Maybe the same thing happened where you are, but, if that were the case they should have given all the vendors who actually make their products the premier spots. I would definately inquire about that as nicely as possible so as not to burn a bridge for future shows. I know it's difficult when you're angry and it cost you sales and money.
  19. I use some cups I got at walmart in the food storage aisle. They are similiar to tupperware I guess (they are clear and have a reddish lid). They are dishwasher safe so I can just wash them and reuse which saves money as opposed to using a one time use and toss thing. Put it on the scale, tare it out and pour my FO in. HTH
  20. Wanted to update as to the show I previously posted about where it stated hand made items only and a scentsy booth was there. We contacted them and asked why they allowed non hand made vendors into the show when they specifically stated none would be allowed... this was the answer... they did not have enough hand made vendors to fill the spots so they opened it up to non hand made vendors to fill the remaining spots and they hand picked the ones they thought were the least offensive as far as not being hand made. The rep there must have been an exception b/c she did not yell, overtalk or any of the other bad behavior's that so many of the reps seem to have, maybe that's why she didn't sell much of anything. It really does amaze me though that poeple are so willing to pay so much money for a product that has so many rude salespeople. I have been to shows before when a rep will walk by our booth and give the most evil looks, why? Are you that threatened by us little people??? Even if I did not make my own I surely wouldn't spend a penny on their products simply b/c of the rude and unprofessional manner so many of the reps portray. I have never used them so I can't comment on how good they are, but, to me if you have a nasty rude attitude I'm not spending one red cent. Dixiegal, maybe she remembered to take her manner pill that day. Glad you got some sales!!
  21. Criticism is one thing, what she did was just rude and uncalled for. Just remember opinions are like a$$ holes...everyone has one and some people sadly speak from theirs. Don't let people like that get you down even for a minute!!
  22. We also did a craft fair over the weekend and get this the application that was sent to all vendors stated that the items MUST be hand made, hand crafted and no buy and sell items. There was a committee that voted on all the possible vendors and they looked at craftsmanship, creativity, booth and personal presentation, value, etc and no copyright materials allowed. They even made us send pictures of our items, including pictures of the items being made. That being said, why in the world did they allow a scentsy booth??? Those are not hand made, hand crafted and the person selling those had no creative input into the products whatsoever. Now I have no problem if those type vendors want to set up, but, I do have a problem when the committee states they will only allow hand crafted items (as this was marketed as a hand-crafted craft/art fair). To me that would exclude anyone and anything that they personally did not make with their own two hands. Anyway we totally kicked their butts as I don't think they sold much of anything, if anything at all. Guess people are finally catching on that hand made can be just as good if not better in some cases than some factory produced product.
  23. I would have to agree that she has some type of vested interest. I have not tried them, but, I have however had some scentsy buyers become my customers b/c for one they said scentsy is over priced and also that mine were just as good. She is completely RUDE and could use a lesson or two in manners and cooth. I'd be embarrassed if I were the owner of that store to have an employee that rude and to bad mouth something that they sell in that store. And I agree that she's full of crap!!
  24. wow she must have nothing better to do than sit around and think up bs explanations to everything. She certainly does have some imagination going there in her little lala land. Good luck, I hope you kick her butt in sales and maybe you should (when the show is over of course) sprinkle her with some FO and come up with some imaginative explanation as to why you did so ... like you were sealing in her bs scent...
