  1. I see faces in all of them, pain killers are wonderful things, LOL! I do see a face in the top left corner of the top left bar. Steve
  2. Oohh, the shamrock is gone. Looks way cool! Steve
  3. I've already started retesting last years FO's just to make sure they work with the new IGI palm wax. Next time I make an FO order I will be ordering some different Fall/Winter scents to start testing. Steve
  4. Does kinda look like a monochrome lava lamp LOL! But I think it looks cool. Cheers, Steve
  5. Another winner! The colors remind me of St Patrick's Day for some reason. Maybe it is the faux shamrock in the middle. Cheers, Steve
  6. Just cause I feel like throwing some stuff out there: - I use index cards to record all my candle tests, find it easy to file and find. I don't put as much info as Stella, but I do what works for me, everyone is different. - I have tested unscented candles, because I wanted to and I actually have people requesting unscented candles. - I think there is alot of unwarranted "sniping" between some members, but it makes for an interesting read sometimes... - yes, longtime members can get irritated about the same questions popping up all the time from newbies (I am still a relative newbie), but I have learned to just use the back arrow and not snipe - I know what "dialing in" means, as I bet most people do, too. - don't let negative comments sour you on this board, it is an excellent board and everyone here contributes useful info. OK, so much to say, so little time. Do what works for you and hopefully the search function will get fixed. Cheers, Steve Oh, and be happy these forums are not like the ones on Etsy, where every thread gets shut down by Admin for no reason other than they are DB's. Our moderators are wonderful people.
  7. New picture editor is a bit unfriendly, but it uploaded no problem? Steve
  8. Mostly from the manufacturers. And the minimum orders are usually by the multiple pallet, skid, or trailer load. Very expensive to start. I looked into it a while back and decided not to do it. Besides, we have CandleScience right down the road. Cheers, Steve
  9. If you are looking for a label supplier, try: http://www.labelsbythesheet.com/ http://www.onlinelabels.com/ I use both and have had no issues. I prefer Labels by the Sheet (their labels seem better to me), but Online Labels has a much wider selection of sizes. Cheers, Steve
  10. I liked the Chocolate Biscotti, but I could not get it to throw for any length of time in my tarts. Seemed to run out of steam about 6 hours in, but smelled great. The Choc Fudge throws very well in soy tarts. Cheers, Steve
  11. If she is looking to sell her business, I would not give away any suppliers. But if not, maybe she is just being a power-loving DB, or she just bought it like any other customer and is ashamed to admit it. Cheers, Steve
  12. I'm glad I know professionals who are very good at hacking. It is time to fight spamming. Steve
  13. My candles are perfectly All Natural. Says so right on the label! If it is in print, it has to be true. Cheers, Steve
  14. It's called "jump lines". Search that phrase and you may get some more info. Cheers, Steve
  15. I have the silver lids, also, but the people who have tested the jar for me seem to prefer the black lid with the simple black label. I mostly use silver on my containers, but i kinda like the black in this instance. All depends on the label. I was working on another type of label and the silver lid was best on it. Cheers, Steve
  16. I use Fillmore for alot of jars and never had a problem. They have also gone out of their way to find lids for me. I use the 9 and 7.75 straight sided, just getting them into my line. Cheers, Steve
  17. I will probably end up doing it, just waiting to hear about the vendor mix. Thanks, all, for your feedback. Cheers, Steve
  18. Very very nice. But how did you get the lettering on the top bar? Cheers, Steve
  19. Hello All, I was just invited to do an event at a local Tennis/Golf/Social Club. This place is a pretty upscale club (I can't afford the monthly dues, much less the initiation fee) that has been around for about 80 years or so. Anyway, it is a Ladies Night Out event, with local artists, etc, drinking and dining kinda thing. It is open to female members and their guests only. It runs 3 hours in the evening and costs $50 plus 15% of sales. One 6 foot table (and chair) is provided, but no table covers. I think it is an indoor and outdoor event. Anyone ever done this type of thing before? Any thoughts? I am interested, but all that work for 3 hours of selling...no definate numbers on attendies, just "many". Thanks, Steve
  20. Base looks like it may be home made pottery (appears slip molded and hand cut). Of course it may be something repurposed. The bowl looks like a small glass kitchen utensil or small serving bowl for dips or butter or some such. Just appears to be repurposed items. Cheers, Steve
  21. That candle looks like my very FIRST attempt at wicking a soy candle. Gee, it only took one or two tests to get the right wick! Guess some so-called Chandlers don't even do that! Irritating to the ones who do it right! My soapbox is sitting right next to me, but I shall leave it unused, LOL! I agree, you are probably lucky to have gotten away from that store. Cheers, Steve
  22. There is alot of "chandler speak" here, but you will pick it up as you go. There is a pretty steep learning curve in the beginning, and you never stop learning new things and picking up tips and tricks. Here is a link to the abbreviations to suppliers, if that helps any: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?5492-Supplier-Abbreviations-and-Links I spent MANY sleepless days and nights reading this forum when I first found it. Cheers, Steve
