  1. ABC Distributing is also a sister company of LTD. Just throwing that in.:tiptoe:
  2. Steve, I have the Tree tall warmer that is similar to the potpourri warmer on sale. The tall warmer is awesome; wicked good scent throw; and good quality appearance. The only issue I have (other than the country of manufacture :laugh2:) is that the bowl on the tall warmers got embedded a bit in the styrofoam packaging, so there is a slight ring of styrofoam to rub off. Let me know if you decide to try these, I'm curious if they could be used to warm lotions? Best, Brandy
  3. Cake and candy supply stores regularly carry these items. Check your local area if you can't find a good deal online. And check the seasonal aisles for these items; think baking goods, embellishments...those aisles. HTH!
  4. Thanks. I read that as well and we decided to just use some silicone molds to ensure quality the first time. But thanks, in any case! Best, B
  5. :yay:Trudi! Those are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great holiday, and look forward to more pics of your beautiful work in 2011. Best, Brandy
  6. You don't know from Glee? Their team is named New Directions, located in Lima, OH. This has a special love for me; nephew is attending college in Lima in June. It's a hoot. Check it out on Fox.
  7. Yes, I am the village idiot. Every time I see this post title, I get all excited thinking it is a Glee thing. Thank you for cranking up my blood pressure. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
  8. I just can't get past J&L for their LoveSpell dupe. I held off on offering this for almost 18 months; Regret, regret. This throws like nobody's business in soy, and I dye it a dark fuschia. It's crazy good( I don't care for VS anything, personally...if I can't fit in the panties, I probably don't need their foo-foo(perfume). But I can't keep this scent in stock! This dupe is dead on. Lorrie might be off until Monday, but see her site and she will see your order!
  9. :yay:I have one of these I rarely use, and the cheese alone is that price. Thanks for the nifty share! Happy Holidays!
  10. I know better than to do this without running through the archives, but I'm pressed for time, and hope someone will just tell me yes or no? :tiptoe::tiptoe:Can I pour m&p into cupcake liners in a cupcake pan? I have a couple little kids coming over to make presents, and I thought the liner might release easy (we're doing ducks)? TIA.
  11. Excellent explanation, Judy! I started with paraffin, which has less of a temperature disorder! I didn't tackle soy until after 2 years of good paraffin results, and I still struggle with any new scent in soy...the testing involved is threefold, IMHO, in soy. Everyone here is helpful, so when you give your gift, be sure to include a link to this forum and encourage her to join! HTH!
  12. My sister just brought me the Scentsy catalog that floated through her work (nurse). The animals are $25 and come with one Scent Pak. You can order Scent Pak's in 15 fragrances and they are $7.00 each. This is the first time I have seen any Scentsy stuff, but I am a homebody and do most of my sales out of my home/internet/phone. I was just curious to see what they offer. The nursing home where my Sis works let us host an Open House sale last week, and I made amazing sales in the 3 hours we were there. I heard the girl having the Scentsy party (where Sis got the book) actually bought more of my product than she did from the Scentsy party she hosted. I think they have cute, but wayyyyyyy overpriced warmers, and their scents are nothing compared to the hand-crafted options I've seen on CT!
  13. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=698 Try this link to helpful archives, etc. regarding the board. HTH!:smiley2:
  14. :yay:My BFF Kim's husband has been officially elected into office as 84th district Michigan House Rep. I am proud to say that I know this man, he actually cares about our issues. He called me last week regarding an issue I have had with the local FOC. When we finished the initial discussion, I threw the senate bill at him, which I had questioned publicly on my FB page, and thought no one knew or read it. Damn if the man I voted for didn't say, hey, Brandy, I read your post, and I've been in Lansing all week questioning the resolution, as we just had Gov. Granholm pass the Cottage Food Act last year. Well, shut my mouth and a sweet potato pie! A politician, who has my name, cell number, and calls to check on things I have filed grievances (previously unattended) and ask how to help my small business? I think my county is moving in the right way, as well as adjoining jourisdictions. I think my vote may have counted here; someone is finally on our side! Keep me posted with any updates you get; I get lost in schoolwork and taxes and lose track of the news during the winter. Thanks again, B.
  15. Personal experience (my sixteen year old son) has led me to associate "Sex on the Beach" with "Sand in your crack!" Just kidding, what about something like "Summer Love?"
  16. Hi, Jack! Have you considered using your little bits to custom blend? I use those last bits in the bottle to try mixing fragrances; just use Q-tips and a closed jars, and keep a record or your recipe, e.g. 1 tip of lemon with 1 tip of lavender and see what happens in a closed jar for a couple days. Just sayin; cheap way to experiment! Mix up something you like, and test, test, test!
  17. Yeah, Donita! That is superb. I so love the colors. I do strictly container and clamshell pours, and I've spent three years working that out...can't imagine how to attempt the pretties you make. Thanks for sharing. Gorgeous work!
  18. :yay:I so have to chime in on this, because when I started ordering oils from J & L, this was one of the initial scents. It is still one of my top 5 sellers. It is sooo yummy, and has a distinct bakery, nutty scent. ( I have their straight Banana, and it is true; nothing near this.) I highly recommend for soy. HTH, B
  19. When I was a baby, my mom had a diaper service...which meant (back in Dec'72-Dec'73) I had cloth diapers that were through a service...meaning "shared" or recycled, or reused diapers. This was considered the top method prior to Pampers; which my Mom switched to for convenience when she moved out of the Metro area. Is a diaper service appalling? What is wrong with recycling? How dirty and gross are most babies? I used to feel that way, but once you have one, are an auntie or uncle to one, truly love one...your hygiene issues will dissipate. Best, B
  20. Many talented voices will chime in on this, but first you have to give the background; type of wax, temp poured at, FO load and temp added, etc. All this will help. Relax, it just sounds like you are getting adjusted to the temp discrepancies in every home. My house is over 50 yrs old, and the drafts and flows took a while to adjust my candles to. It will all come to you. We all test consistently and retest to perfect. It's a lot of fun and a lot of $$$ but a hell of a ride! Welcome aboard.
  21. Not trying to be an a$$hole, but have you considered mixing FO and colorant in your pour pots? I spent a year pouring oil in a measuring cup and weighing it, just to weight it agin in the pot. Do you get what I am saying? If you pour it pure, you only have to clean pots? Does this make any damn sense? Let me know. Thanks. B
  22. Do you have a pic? I pour in soy, and when I have a little bit of wax hang up or such around the wick, I leave it be. (never used a heat gun). Generally it is just where you may have splashed wax around the wick and is not an issue; trim the wick and it should be ok. Pics would help...I still haven't figured out how to post one here, though:sad2:. Best, Brandy
  23. Hi, Karen. I was having a similar issue finding a good coffee scent, and so Lorrie at J&L started blending for me to create a Coffee Caramel Cream that is to die for! It smells like Starbucks in here when I burn that in wax, and I'm not sure if it is all skin safe, but she could tell you. She is a member here; handle is Lorrie. This scent has been a hot seller on my fundraisers this fall, and they added it again for the Christmas ones. HTH... Best, Brandy
  24. I'm pouring Eggnog right now. It rocks; I can smell the nutmeg! Highly recommend for soy. I got it from Lorrie at J & L. Amazing scent throw; did have to wick up a bit. HTH.
