  1. I agree that there is much to investigate at this store. I am mainly interested in their Crazy Mountain warmers...but you all know I am going to have to buy something, just to see what is up with this 500 scent business! I'm not OO7 or anything, but I have a bit of a plan...:tiptoe::tiptoe::tiptoe:. For now, the storm is blowing in fast, and I know I won't attempt this trip until I have sunny skies and dry pavement!
  2. You are very welcome. I am the queen of curious. I just quit buying commercial candles and products when I found a guru to teach me this craft. I still go to the department/mall stores to sniff the products for ideas, but I have never run across Lush candles. Guess I'll do a google on it and see what it is you meant!
  3. I am so intrigued by this. My sister bought me a Crazy Mountain candle warmer about 5 years ago, I think. At that time, Crazy Mountain was in Imlay City, MI. They closed before I started in this addiction/business. I am curious how they have Crazy Mountain products; my little tin star bowl is still my favorite charger, and it came from them. I hope they are the same supplier under a new name, new town. They had awesome quality products. I will be googling a map to their store after this wicked storm we have predicted. Can't wait to get to Owosso to see! Thanks for posting this.
  4. :tiptoe:Not sure if anyone will be willing to share the information on which FO supplied the oils, but I'm willing to. Every one of my top sellers was a J & L Creations oil. Blueberry Muffin is Lorrie's custom blend, and I can't say enough about the customer's responses to this oil; ususally they buy that or the Snowflake Cake or LoveSpell type first, and come back to try the rest! Lorrie is great to work with; she custom blended a fragrance for me after several other suppliers product let me down. Check out the Coffee Caramel Cream from there...luscious!
  5. Not that I am aware of? It is the White Cake FO from J & L Creations, and it freakin' rocks! Everyone loves it; only scent I haven't found a hater for! Lorrie is a member here on the boards; I buy it from her company. I highly recommend it in EL soy; not sure about other waxes. Lorrie is a soaper and candlemaker, so she would have info re: that! She is always more than willing to answer any questions. HTH! www.jandlcreations.com
  6. Since it’s that time of year when inventories and massive bookwork is going on for many of us, I thought maybe this was the time to ask of those willing to share… What were your top selling fragrances for candles this year? What were your top selling fragrances for B&B this year? If you don’t mind sharing your location (Urban, Rural, North Pacific, Midwest, East, South, etc), I’m curious as a cat and just wonder what is moving where. I find this kind of stuff fascinating. Not trying to inquire as to business practices or recipes, just a general curiosity of what everybody experienced. I only do soy candles, tarts, tealights, and sachets for public sale. I am located in Huron County, MI, in the “thumb” of the mitten, extremely rural...think John Deere Wind Farm and soybean fields, corn fields, sugar beet fields (not unusual to see a combine drive down Main Street). My top sellers were: Snowflake Cake Blueberry Muffin LoveSpell(VStype) Lilac Pumpkin Pie Cinnamon Buns Lemon Cheesecake Sugared Fruit Slices Angel Amaretto Banana Nut Bread Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey TIA to all who care to respond!
  7. Is it the Pink Sugar type from NG? I have a request for Pink, and am not sure what I'm looking for:sad2:.
  8. Don't sell yourself short, Judy! These were amazing in appearance, and I have the chocolate here on my laptop (it's one of "those" days). The Peace Rose and English Garden were perfect; the itty bitty "burp" on the chocolate doesn't scare me; I'm savvy, and my customers have never balked over such a thing. Thanks so much for the inspiration...someone said to me this week "Go big, or go home." I'm trying to put that into perspective, and 1 and 2 oz. melts lead me to clarity!!! Thanks again for the awesome soap and melts. Loving the English Garden, and I am so anti-floral! Be on the lookout for another good mold from A#on soon; I have a demo en route!
  9. After receiving my awesome Valentine's swap box, I fell in love with the oval Ellipso cups Judy sent (Thanks, Judy...loving the English garden, and the chocolate is on the warmer tomorrow!) I am now wondering if there is any difference in pouring these than with standard souffle cups? They are much sturdier, and I pour the soy very cool and thick, so I don't anticipate a problem. I never had a release issue with the round 2 oz. The melts Judy sent released beautifully, and I am hoping for the same great results with Millenium container wax. Oddly, when I used the EL votive, it did NOT release from silicone molds or the plastic cups; the Millenium container acts like it was made for tarts and such:confused:? TIA for any suggestions. I have 2000 en route and want to jump right in, so researching all I can while I wait for the delivery person!
  10. Check out this thread...it has volumes of information! http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90126
  11. Have also heart Backwood's Black Irish is a ringer...of those mentioned, anyone have a top thrower in soy? I'm making sachets for nephew, but am curious how it throws in wax, and are any skin safe? TIA
  12. I got a Facebook response from NG recmmending xanthan gum. On the directions on their site, they mention using table salt, but give no measurements, so I guess I have to order some of that to try. Hope it comes with instructions!
  13. ? Does anyone have help for the NG Ritzy shower gel they would share? I’ve tried about 5 scents, and everything thins it like crazy. Do I need a thickener if I want to use FO? Am I measuring this incorrectly? Using their recommendations.
  14. Thanks to everyone for sharing information. My nephew wants a few of car sachets in this scent, and I personally have never smelled it. Now the struggle will be to only order that 1 oz. sample without putting anything else in the shopping cart:laugh2:.
  15. Now if I could just decide on a color scheme for my new bedroom set...guess I know I need to order my quilt and then choose sheets! Can you rock one out in a King size, or is that not possible on the long arm?
  16. Amazing work! Please keep posting the pics!
  17. Sure is my Avon mold! Watch for the new one available in Campaign 8'ish; I can order the demo in a couple weeks; same shape mold as the bugs, but has three tulips, two daisies, and two chrysanthemums. I'm getting the representative demo as soon as available, but the regular one will be available to the public come Spring. Still trying to find some bug molds; many want those...treasure yours! They were discontinued! Hope you are well, Nancy, and thanks for the compliment! P.S. Any pics of little Colton to share? Hope to hear a good progress report. That little guy is still in my prayers.
  18. :yay:Love it, love it, love it! Great job. I'll call you this afternoon.
  19. :confused:Does anyone have any idea of a FO that smells close? I can't find much descriptive material on the web, and came up zilch here on the boards/archives. Any ideas would be appreciated! Here is a link for the product: http://www.little-trees.com/us/products_detail.php?x=x&section=products&id=9
  20. Was just tossing ideas up; nothing implied.:smiley2:
  21. Patch, Black Pepper, Leather...am I off base here? I think this sounds like a divine start? I don't have Black Pepper to test a mix, but I bet I could sell the star wars out of this scent if we get it nailed!:laugh2:
  22. Always thought of Darth Vader's character as very mysterious and sexy. Yes, I said SEXY. Something deep and soulful; full of dark and patchouli, perhaps?
  23. Thanks so much, everyone. I know they are nothing fancy or intricate, but I know I need to master the fundamentals first. Baby steps...
