  1. 5% I love Candlewics container palm also. Makes a very sparkly pretty candle Forgot to add...I don't blend it with anything(except fo of course) but may give it a try adding a touch of soy
  2. Yes, it is feather palm. It makes beautiful votives and melts.
  3. They are adorable!! Did you handpaint them yourself Janet?
  4. Very nice Sharon!! Love the red color I use 2 wicks in mine. You think that may be overkill? I have tons of wicks that I don't use for candles and cut them all up just for firestarters. Otherwise they would be sitting around collecting dust.
  5. Same here.....I fill a cupcake paper with potpourri, pinecones and whatever wax I have handy and add some glittler to the tops, sell for 1.00 each or 4 for 3.00 and everyone with a fireplace, woodstove, or firepit love them. I also love making them
  6. I thought it was HTP wicks that are self trimming. I use CD wicks and always find myself trimming those..........
  7. I mix in CS Vanilla Hazelnut with CS Hazelnut Coffee and imo it makes a nice rich creamy scent. I started doing it this year and since then have sold much more than I did when using HC by itself. To my nose it smells of too much coffee and not enough hazelnut but it sure is a great thrower in 6006 wax. Mocha and almond are both great ideas..sounds yummm
  8. I have been using 6006 since I first started making candles. I knew it was the wax for me from the get go. It's all personal prefrence. Not everyone likes it just like any other wax out there. I have tried and tested many other types of wax but just keep coming back to 6006. I also love using palm wax. My favorite is Candlewics container palm. The feather palm they sell is also great. And ooops I just realised you are talking about melts lol I like PB mixed with CB excel for that and sometimes feather palm. I don't make alot of melts though so I guess I'm not much help but rambled on anyway lol
  9. Candlescience has a pretty good straight coconut. I usually use it to blend with other scents but it works well in 6006. WSP has a really nice Carribian(sp?) Coconut that throws and smells great but it's pretty expensive. I love Coconut but it seems hard for me to find a good one.
  10. Candlewic sells wood wicks with the clips included.
  11. Positively beautiful packaging!!! I love it
  12. My favorite clear base is the one from AH/RE previously sold by KY) Most of my Room and Linen sprays turn out nice and clear......depends on the FO. I have a few that stay cloudy no matter what. Another great base is Natures Garden Odor Eliminator base but unfortunatly it's not clear even before putting FO in it. It has great holding power ....seems to last a long time Another good one is from CMS but imo KYs is better. HTH
  13. Agreed......zinc will not work well in palm I usually use CSN and sometimes CD
  14. Cranberry Marmalade (CS) Christmas Hearth(CS) Hot Chocolate(AH/RE kys) Apple Harvest(CS) named it Apple Cinnamon way too hard to pick 4
  15. I 2nd Cs Caramelized Praline. Super strong C and HT in 6006 and palm wax.
  16. WOW!!!! They are awesome!! They look so real and so yummy! I want to eat them What size are they?
  17. I requested the same as you Sharon and got the same exact reply from that guy. I only wanted a few samples of the lids for Status jars and I also sometimes use the Whisper jars which use the same size lid as the Status. I do love the flat glass lids but they are pricey and heavy.
  18. I love it. I make a body spray(for myself) and candles using CS Love Spell and get tons of compliments and sales from it. Both candles and sprays. It's been one of my top sellers for the past 2 years. All year long
  19. I have not tried either of the 2 you mentioned but have the one from CS and I love it and so do a few of my customers. Has a strong CT and HT in 6006 wax. Also mixes well with apple.
  20. Great idea on starting this thread Lauren!! And yes.......there are quite a few of us animal lovers here on the board I also forgot to add to my list of animals that I have a Chipmunk. Saved the little guy over a year ago when my husband saw him spinning around in circles on the sidewalk in front of my house. He was just a baby at the time and could tell his was totally petrified......maybe got seperated from his mom.....I don't know. I got 2 cages and connected them together because they seem to need lots of space to move around. He is now getting his little cubby all fixed up and ready to hibernate so I don't really see him much lately. I did try and let him go 2 days after finding him since he is not a domestic critter but he wouldn't go......he walked out of the cage.....freaked out and ran back in the cage soooo he has a forever home with me
  21. What's uour name? Diane How old are you? 53 Where do you live? South Jersey right across the river from Philly (Deb? I wonder if we are practically neighbors?) How long making candles/soap whatever? Been making candles/ air freshener products for over 3 years Are you married? Any kids? Was married for over 20 years, got divorced and 7 years later we got back together. We are still actually divorced but I still call him my husband, just don't have that peice of paper that says so yet lol Have 2 daughters ages 32 and 28 and a 9 year old grandson How did you get started making candles/soap/ whatever? I have always loved crafts and just decided to read up on candlemaking. Found this website.........kept reading and reading and learning from all the great people here and went with it. If candlemaking isn't your primary job, what do you do? I work part time at Petsmart because I love animals and needed some extra money. Anything else we should know? I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. If I had the room in my home and the money to afford it I would have lots more!
  22. My favorite is AH/RE KYs.......suuuuper strong H and CT Now I want to try BCNs
