  1. I agree! I love ALL their FO's. And for what it's worth, NG's Werewolf smells divine! Team Jacob or not it smells wonderful.
  2. As long as everything was incorporated well and you had enough lye in the recipe for all the oils (even the ones you added late) it should be fine.
  3. I think it depends on your idea of a vampire. Do you like the Twilight vamps or do you like the old school, crawl out of the crypt, talk with a sophisticated Eastern European accent vamps? In Twilight, Edward smells like honey, sunshine and flowers. I would imagine the traditional/old vampire smells more like dirt and incense *shrug*. Then you have to consider all the other literary vamps out there and their own nuances. If it were me, I'd probably have to do a custom blend. I don't think I could buy what my mind conjures up...
  4. I'd be getting other supplies from Peaks, too. So it's all good.
  5. I let my M&P soap "cure" for about a week before I use it.
  6. I use address labels. I orient the text all to one side and have to trim the ends some but I always have those labels on hand. *shrug*
  7. I use bubble wrap to get a pattern on my Oatmeal Milk and Honey soap.
  8. Unfortunately, people sue others because of their own stupidity every day. Even if they didn't follow instructions, or didn't use the product (anything, not just a lotion candle) as described. It's always someone else's fault when things go wrong.
  9. That's ridiculous. You know the poufs don't weigh hardly anything! No way the shipping should have jumped like that!
  10. Alicia Grosso's The Everything Soapmaking Book is great. As is Anne Watson's Smart Soapmaking. I also have The Soapmaker's Companion by Susan Miller Cavitch and Clean Naturally by Sandy Maine.
  11. Are you reading Norma Coney's book perhaps? That was my first soap book. I recommend putting it away and getting The Everything Soapmaking Book by Alicia Grosso. She covers cold process, melt and pour, hot process the whole deal. I've been soaping for years and still pull Alicia's book out every now and then.
  12. I just put a circle of wax paper in the bottom of my tin.
  13. l use RLI. They support the home crafter, including wickless, but no candles
  14. Moonworks is my favorite FO supplier. I adore their names and their scents. But then again, the overall theme for my soaps is inspired by myth, fantasy and the medieval. I'd be right at home in a Renaissance Faire!
  15. BrambleBerry, Moonworks and Elements always sent me samples. They are random, but haven't ever gotten anything I didn't like.
  16. Ditto what ChrisR said. We live in a litigious society. Who cares what the other crafter's at the mall do? It's your responsibility to protect yourself. Unfortunately, my insurance company only covers me for my soap/bath and body stuff and tarts. They don't want to have anything to do with anything that catches fire. So, while I make candles, I don't sell them.
  17. For sugar scrubs I always go sweet/foody or sweet/floral. For salt scrubs I go spa/clean/herbal. Hope that makes some kind of sense.
  18. I had RLI and they told me I couldn't use pre-made bases, either. I wasn't told I could add stuff to it though. Just NO bases. I might call them back and double check about that. I don't use many bases, but love the ones I do. You would be shocked at the number of sellers with not one cent of insurance coverage and bad production practices!
