  1. I have made an Emu oil soap, it does yeld lots of mild lather and a harder bar, but you are not able to get the benifits of the healing like you would by using it in a lotion or leave on product.
  2. I get itchy scalp too this time of year. It itches right on top, toward the back of my head. I have caused scabs from itching so hard. I also get itchy shins too. Its just wintertime excema. Use shampoo and conditioner that is extra moisturizing, dont use dandruff or tea tree products. Jojoba Oil is the best for hair and scalp. Do a hot oil treatment with Jojoba Oil
  3. that is pretty funny. actually you use alcohol to make clear soap
  4. I agree also cornmint EO is yummy
  5. Huh? oh that is so lame. Why would thye still have their shopping cart working and be able to take your money if they are closed down??? grrrrrr
  6. Oils by nature is a great place to buy oils for lotions http://www.oilsbynature.com/company_info.htm
  7. I use EOs in mine. For a 2lb batch I use .75oz of EO and mix it with 1.5oz of mathcing FO. With that small amount, I can still feel the EO tingle on my skin and it anchors the FO real nice. So far I have made the following batches: .75oz lavender EO mixed with 1.5 lavender FO, .75oz Sage EO mixed with 1.5 Lemongrass Sage FO, .75oz Vetiver EO mixed with 1.5 Vetiver FO, .75oz Sandalwood EO mixed with 1.5 Sandalwood FO, They all came out smelling Grrrrrreat!! Next I am thinking of doing .75oz of Lime EO mixed with 1.5oz of Violets and Lime FO

  10. I dont remeber exactly where the threads are, but do a search of the board and some threads should pop up, mentioning some suppliers.
  11. Looking foward to seeing some more soaps from you in the gallery.
  12. Hello, welcome to a fun board filled with lots of great tips.
  13. that sounds like a lot of fragrance oil. No need to use that much. I would back it down to 1oz of fragrance per lb of wax, which is around 5-6% fragrance load. The most i would go up is 1.25oz of fragranc eoil per lb of wax, which is about 8% fragrance load. i wouldnt worry about how clear your melt pool is, you should first worry about getting a full melt pool that is reaching all the edges, which should probably take at least 2-3 test burns to achieve.
  14. what a great idea, this would probably make nice guest size bars
