  1. ditto, and maybe add some palm stearic acid to your batch to get back some of the hardness.
  2. Northstar has some awesome ones for Soy. Here is the link. They also use to sell the EVO ones, now also offer some preimium ones. http://www.northstar3c.com/shop/ecom-catshow/liquid_dye.html
  3. Just FYI, to save on costs, i would think you can just pour the wax and fixens directly into the 6 holes of the tin muffin pan, instead of pouring them first into the individual cupcake wrappers. I would think that you could push up on the buttom of the muffin pan and the firestarter should release.
  4. FYI, Columbus Foods (soapers choice) doesnt manufacture their own Shea. Most shea butters are manufactured in Africa. Sometimes in the hotter months, the shea can melt during shipping to the supplier and when cooled back down, it can cause the graininess. Something may have gone wrong this time with the shipping to Columbus Foods (soapers choice). But like Flicker had mentioned, it can be resolved by an additional remelt.
  5. I use alot of their FOs. They have all been great in soy wax without any complaints. I mostly use thier Ultimate Fragrance selection
  6. You might want to try a hygrogenated soybean oil. Not crisco, since it has cottonseed oin in it. But Majestic Mountain Sage has 100% Hygrogenated soybean oil which is in a solid forlm here is the description. Soybean Oil (hydrogenated) INCI = Hydrogenated Soybean Oil Saponification Value: 190 mg KOH / g of Fat Use hydrogenated soy as half of your fats to keep costs down. It is a good filler and makes a very hard white bar when used alone. Solid at room temperature.
  7. I love the pic with the cat chillen in the window seal. Your set up looks great, lots of premade candles ready to be sold
  8. Wow, thats a lot of FO to have to use. I would get another Cucumber Melon from a different supplier. I dont think anyone should have to use more than 7% FO load in any wax.
  9. hmmm not sure what it could be. Its probably a blend of lavendar and something else.
  10. Honestly I like the second one. However the first one can be used to heat jars and tarts. So you would probably benefit more by getting the first ones.
  11. here you go, this company carries a dupe. http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=fowhitemuskBS BTW: I love your website.
  12. With my experience, I have always had to double wick these when using soy wax. Also they seem to discolor around the edges because of the fragrance oil reacting with the tin.
  13. Also 100% coconut can be pretty brittle
  14. I would wick down as well. try the 126 or 105
  15. If you have the room, store them in the fridge.
  16. check out the post right before yours, I belive someone has used the 415 without problems.
  17. great job there, must have been a mess in your candle making area though.
  18. Same here. I am wondering how fresh flowers hold up in wax though. Would the flowers eventually brown, ro woudl they stay the same true color since emersed in wax?
  19. okay, I have to ask........ Whats up with the new born puppy in the shirt pocket???
  20. i would deduct it from the oils
  21. This one is strong for sure, but I have never gotten a fuel smell. Try lowering the amount. I use Soy and HTP wicks, not sure if that makes a different in the burn smell.
