I just bought the sample pack from Lone Star. I just poured 2 this morning with C-3 soy in 2 different jars, and with 2 different size wicks. I'll report back after I test them. Right now I am just curious to see what they do.
I don't weigh wax. I melt it and measure it out in liquid ounces. 20 liquid oz. of paraffin is 1 pound. 18 liquid oz. of soy is 1 pound. I don't use a scale for much of anything anymore except shipping. And even when making larger batches the same rules apply. It is just a different way of measuring that is just as accurate.
The main thing about keepsake jars is the lids. The lid is what makes the jar keepsake. Once you find the size jar you are looking for, then you can try to locate the keepsake lids in the size that you need.
I've never mixed container wax with votive wax. Not sure how that would work out. Votives need to be hard. Don't try to cut the votive wax. It is easier to use a hammer and chisel (screw driver) and break it into pieces.
I used All Hallows Eve. I am testing that candle now, using an LX26 wick. The candle seems to be burning properly, but the flame sure does seem tall. I keep trimming it, but it still gets tall. Might have to try again and wick down.
You're right Stella, and I agree with you 100% I've worked with it (CBA) for about 4 years. Time to throw in the towel. I am testing GB464, CB135, C-3, and ALL of them perform better than CBA!
