  1. Hi Kay, I, too have been having trouble getting the right eco for 6006 in my container. On the advice of one board member I am currently testing the cd wicks...so far so good. (oh and I broke down and double wicked!) I Hope someone else pipes in and tells us what works for them! Mindy
  2. thanks chele!! they were burning pretty high and hot, but no smoke, no soot, and now 2 1/2 hrs into my burn they have calmed right down...so crossing my fingers!!
  3. ok, finally got some more $$ and got my cd wicks....double wicked my 16 oz jar with cd 14s as helpfully suggested! the throw is fantastic!! the collar of my jar is a little toasty tho....and will I be looking for the same basic results with the double wick as single (i,e, fmp with in so long, etc)??? I hope these work, or I may literally go crazy...
  4. thanks everyone~ My kids have been eating up all my money lately...so I haven't had a chance to get new ones but thanks for all the suggestions!!! ~mindy
  5. thanks stella....I guess I just have tons more to learn!!! my brain is gonna explode...I would love to find one wick that would wick these nicely...my eco 8 almost does....but not all the way to the edges after my power burn.... so, have got it quite figured yet....thanks for the info about lonestar, I will check there
  6. hi Stella! my standard apothecary jars have a 4" diameter.....I thought 2 wicks sounded like a lot for that small of jar! but I will try anything.....once!! having trouble finding a supplier that carries both eco and cds....without having to buy 100 of each!
  7. thank you Carrie!! I also just figured out that I am using an eco 8 and it should be an eco 10...guess I can't read...LOL. What temp do you recommend pouring at?? do you just stir for 3 minutes then pour? sorry, I don't know too many candlers to bug with my pesky questions!
  8. Hi there...been pouring and testing 6006 in 16 oz apothecary jars (by request) thru a wick recommender...I am using eco 8s....1 oz scent, wax heated to 195, color added...fragrace added...stirred 3 minutes....cooled to 150....tops were a little sunk...heat gun fixed.. Test burns no smoking or soot, but a dancin flame! LOL...ct and ht great! Should I be concerned about the flickering...and why would it flicker? Also, what is the best way to pour without sinking tops?? should I pour cooler...warm jars...or just plan to re-pour?? sorry I tried to find these answers but I just get more confused!
  9. well, this is exactly what I needed to hear! So what soy wax do you all feel has the BEST throw?? and if frosting or other issues how do you fix them?? I will need to start testing others and need to know where to start!
  10. thanks leah! I actually poured a little left over wax into some little plastic containers.....it is cb advanced, but I am interested to see what it does!! thanks for taking the time to tell me what works for you! mindy
  11. well now I am just plain confused!! my flame burns beautifully and the meltpool is even no smoking or soot so far. But what should I be looking for?? wow, too much info has me ready to scrap this whole idea!
  12. well from what I have read it should have a full melt pool with approximately 1 hour for each inch of diameter of container....If I understand it correctly so 3 hours for a 3 inch container.....did I get it right?
  13. thanks, guess I didn't realize that the 4oz was considered volume, although it makes sense!! too excited!! LOL, thank you soo much you have been great help!
  14. thanks, I know I will have to burn them down further, just to make sure, but I was pleased to see it working well soo far!! Thanks again, it is awful sweet of you guys to keep answering my questions!
  15. Ok, all you cb advanced lovers, come talk to me! do you cure, for how long, and how do I get the best scent throw everytime? Also do you find that a particular supplier of FO just plain works better in the advanced? Tell me what you have learned!! eager to learn all I can! mindy
