  1. If Goo Gone doesn't work then I would try soaking it in oxy clean. Good Luck, Kim
  2. ok, I am lazy too. I use the candle warmer and dump the wax into a bucket. Kim
  3. I am playing with making votives (been doing candles for years and still don't like my votives) and Bittercreek recommends adding stearic acid to help firm up the wax and to get it out of the mold. The recommend 5 tablespoons per pound, so maybe you can adjust that for containers? Kim
  4. I use an the old square credit card sign that I had from my previous credit card processor. Kim
  5. My first show of the season didn't go well, but the one I had the following weekend went much better. Good luck with the second weekend. During my first show I spent my time working on ideas for different ways to display things and on the second day we changed our layout and improved our sales. Good Luck, Kim
  6. I have started bring stuff upstairs to label, just so I can feel like I am part of the family. I do have to say it's nice to be able to shut the door downstairs when needed. Kim
  7. I don't normally wash my jars either, but I do check for cat/dog hair in the box. I will sometimes wipe out with a dry paper towel if I think there might be dust in there. Kim
  8. Actually they changed the shipping price without me calling them. I don't want to take credit for something they did. Kimb
  9. I would try calling them. When I ordered 4 boxes of wax the shipping came out very high in the cart. It went down almost $40 when the sent me the invoice to charge my credit card. Kim
  10. I wasn't sure what color to make it. So mine are white and they sell very well. HTH, Kim
  11. Are those melts in the little cups next to your display? I am thinking about doing those along with my clamshells, but tdon't want to hurt my clamshell sales. May I be rude and ask what you sell your melts in the little cups? TIA, Kim
  12. For me it depends on how the economy is doing in the area that I am doing the show at. At some of my shows almost 50% of my sales are credit cards and at others I might only 1 have credit card sale. Only if it's a really slow show will I have no credit card sales (maybe once a year). Kim
  13. I would say the indoor show, but then I melt in the sun about the same time my candles do even with a canopy. No one wants to buy candles from the red head who looks like she is going to faint in the heat. I know here in Iowa the weather has been going from one extreme to the other lately. With an indoor show people might be willing to hang around your table and give you some feedback if they aren't worrying about the weather. Even if you have been doing shows for awhile feedback is always nice to give you ideas on how to change things up for next time. Best of luck either way. Let everyone know how things go for you. I just thought of another idea. Is is possible for you to do both shows? If you have a spouse or family member that could do one for you. It can be a headache to have enough product for two shows, but it would give you a good comparison. HTH, Kim
  14. I read somewhere that you can sharpen your scissors by cutting sandpaper with them. I have done it when my scissors get dull and it worked pretty good. My husband did think it was strange to find sandpaper cut into strips. HTH, Kim
  15. I am not sure if you can make them change their company name if you get yours trademarked after they started their business. I would suggest talking to a lawyer to see what your options are since trademarking is fairly expensive. Good Luck, Kim
