  1. I'm pretty sure I've seen the window one at Levinegifts.com I just ordered recently from Jackel and do not recall seeing these there. If you do want an account with Jackel, all I needed was my tax ID. HTH!
  2. I use these on my ICS clamshells: http://secure.candlesupply.com/catalog_page_detail_keyword.cfm?queries_index=index5 They fit perfectly, leaving not much space around the edges, though. Probably less than 1/8" HTH! OOPS!! I don't think that link worked. Sorry. They are BCN labels, item #1128. The are 2-1/3" x 3-3/8"
  3. Do you use the WSP for tubes? That is the one I have, and I've only tried it in slider tins. I think I may give it another go in tubes and see if that makes it easier to apply.
  4. Okay, okay! I'm sold! BC, it is!! Is the BCS base the same as BCN's? I can not believe I have to buy ANOTHER base....argh!! Sounds like it will be the last one, though!
  5. Thanks for the advice. I got the base through the co-op, so I don't know that contacting them would do any good since I'm not the one who ordered it. Otherwise, I definitely would. Surely, this is not how this stuff is supposed to perform @ $16 a lb. Ack! I may use your siggestions and play with it a little, since I certainly can't make it worse. It looks like lemon curd in the tub. Ewww.
  6. I just got the soy lip balm base from AH/RE, and I hate it!! It is sooo grainy and dry in the tub. I was hoping it would magically transform when I melted it, but ick. It feels like sand. It softens up a few minutes after I put it on, but I can't sell this stuff! Are there any tips or tricks for how to prepare this stuff, or an additive to make it smoother? I'm not really sure what to add to it, because it also seems a bit too soft for the tubes as it is. I have also been experimenting with WSPs and it's smooth, but it leaves a funny waxy feeling on my lips...maybe I should just mix the two! Has anyone used either of these bases? Any input or advice? Thanks!
  7. I like the smaller size better, too! The whole reason I started using tarts, and subsequently making them is that you can try a lot of scents without much investment!
  8. Your prices sound very fair to me! I make 4 oz jelly jars and sell them for $4 each or 4/$15. They don't do so hot either. I think when they are gone, I am done with teeny candles, unless someone specifically orders them. I just can't sell them for less than that when they cost almost as much to make as the 8 ounce jars. I will keep my 8 oz jj's at $6.50 or 3/$18.
  9. I would love to know, too. I went to Hawaii on my honeymoon and got to smell the real thing. I will never forget that smell, nor will I ever stop trying to find it. It is definitely not B&BW version!!
  10. I get about 3.5 ounces in MC's. All of the others I have tried (including ICS) hold almost 3 ounces. I put "approximately 3 ounces" on the label because they are frequently more like 2.9 oz even though I fill them to the brim. The funny thing is, that even when I sold the two sizes right next to each other, no one ever noticed that they were different. I don't really think you could charge more for the 3.5 oz. MC clams because customers just assume they are all the same size. HTH!
  11. I think it could possibly have to do with the clams you are using. I had some trouble with the ones from MillCreek. I've used WSP's and now I use ICS with no problems. HTH!
  12. That is, assuming, anyone is crazy enough to pay that! I could get 100 lbs shipped to me from Florida for $55!!
  13. I put 5 lbs in my cart, and the cheapest shipping available was $55....I think we all know where they are making their money!!
  14. Thanks, everyone, for all of the suggestions. I've never ordered from any of these places, so looks like I've got some decisions to make!
  15. I love Millcreek Cinnamon Stick. ICS Cinnamon Buns is also yummy. I use a blend of 415/J223.
  16. I have a request for an orange vanilla scent. The customer used to buy this from Carmen Candles (never heard of them?) and says Scentsy has something like it but not as good. Anyone smelled the Carmen Candles version, or just have a good orange vanilla suggestion? Thanks!
  17. I love Lonestar's Sea Petals. I know this may not sound like a peaceful scent, but it is! I have renamed it lots of things, and I think it could very easily be a spa-type scent. Also, Calming Waters (BBW dupe) is fabulous. I got mine from WSP. Hth!
  18. I get mine from ICS, too. I ordered from Millcreek once, because they have them for $23/100, but I will not order theirs again. They are bigger (hold about 3.5 oz wax) but they seem to be made of thinner plastic. Mine warped very easily and did not hold up very well. I went back and looked at some I had made a few months ago, and the plastic has become rippled across the bottom, and it wasn't that way when I first poured them. I've never had clamshells from anywhere else behave the way MC's do.
  19. I guess I got really lucky with the MC cinnamon stick. I made a random sized candle for myself with it (20 oz rectangle votive) using three RRD 40 wicks, and it burns perfectly. This is the one I used 1.5 oz per lb, and it almost stinks it's so strong. I would like to try again with 1 ounce per lb. I use a blend of J223 and pure soy. HTH! This was my best seller in melts at my August show. Cinnamon stciks in August...go figure!
  20. I second the Millcreek CS. I think I wicked up one size, definitely not more than that. 1 ounce per pound is plenty. I used 1.5 with the first candle I made, and it was way too strong. Not very many oils I can say that about!
  21. I'm on the other side of the fence. I used to make some shaped tarts, but now make clamshells almost exclusively and they sell really well, and are so much easier to make, handle, and transport. For me, I buy a melt to....well, melt, not to sit around and be pretty. I'm not saying they're not cute; they are; I just feel like I am paying for "cute" and I'd rather pay for fragrance. It can't hurt to try some of both and see what does better in your area. HTH!
  22. I emailed Cierra, and got a quick repsonse! They do have it, but it's out of stockl. Should be back within ten days!
  23. [quote name= The only thing is that I did not see a Harvest Pumpkin in their scent list. Oh no!! I use their Harvest Pumpkin, and it's a best seller. I also use it in my own blend, and I am almost out! Ack!!! Anyone know of a dupe? This is my favorite pumpking ever!
