  1. I use my own parasoy and Eco 4 or CD 8 or 10 wicks. I use three wicks, as well, in an inverted triangle. Good luck!
  2. I love Sugar Kisses, too! Oh, wait? Were you talking about an oil? :rolleyes2 Seriously, though. I may have to break down and try this stuff, since everyone seems to love it. Scented: Where do you find liquid Stevia? Anywhere I don't have to order more stuff would be great! I can NOT just order one thing, you know?!
  3. I understand you're not really tasting the flavor, but the sweetness, but it seems a touch of sweet brings out the fragrance more. I don't want super-sweet "Lip Smackers" type stuff, just a hint of sweetness. Hopefully that won't be enough to make people want to lick off all of the good stuff! Anywho, I may have to go unsweetened for this go-round anyway, until I can figure out how I want to sweeten them. Thanks, everyone, for your replies!
  4. Thanks for your reply! I did already purchase several flavorings from WSP. I just wondered if there was any chance of other things working, too. I pretty much already new the answer to that one, but thanks for the explanation. As for "quality" sweetener, I do think stevia and agave are quality sweeteners. I am just looking for tips on how to successfully incorporate them into my balms. I had a hard time spending $30 on WSP's sweetener, when RE and other places have sweetener for significantly less money. I wasn't even for sure I wanted to sweeten my balms, so it wasn't worth the money at the time. I may change my mind later.
  5. So, I've been searching and I found several threads with people talking about testing out Truvia (stevia) and Agave nectar to sweeten their lip balms, but I never found anyone posting results of those tests. So, has anyone tried either of these? And do you mind sharing your results? I am getting back into the lip balm biz after a long hiatus and I just ordered supplies from WSP, but their sweetener was SO expensive, so I decided to pass. Now, I'm trying to find alternative natural sweeteners. And while I'm here, I know this is going to be a stupid question, but why is it not okay to use food flavoring extracts (vanilla, root beer, maple, peppermint etc) to flavor balms? I'm guessing because they are water based? Are there any that are safe?
  6. Voted #1 again, but I'm really torn between it and #2. I think 2 would be easier to use on labels and such, and it really is beautiful. Can't go wrong; they all look great!
  7. I use Millcreek Cinnamon Stick, thanks to recommendations on this board. I started at 1.5 oz per lb in my parasoy blend, and the candle is so strong, it gags me. I have to cut back! That VERY rarely happens to me. I like 'em to run me out of the house!
  8. I don't do gel, but just happened to see this: $23/gal or $85/ 5 gallons http://www.tayloredconcepts.com/wax.htm
  9. Well, thanks for the reply, anyway. I am getting something like 35-40 hours which just blew my mind for over 15 ounces of wax. I am definitely NOT overwicked; just the nature of the beast, I guess.
  10. Lonestar Sun 'N Sea and Sea Petals are identical. I think that Sun N Sea is gel safe and Sea Petals is not.
  11. Decorate Spiderman cookies and individually wrap with cello and a hang tag. I bet you could find Spidey masks or T-Shirts at a party supply store. You could make "spiders" with candy for the body and pipe cleaner legs. They could even be in a cotton candy "web" Soaps with a plastic spider embed I could keep going here, not sure what you have in mind. I go completely overboard with my kids' parties. My daughter turns 1 in June and I've been brainstorming for months.
  12. Just wondering what kind of burn time you guys are getting on these? I use my own parasoy blend, and FINALLY love the burn I am getting, but they just don't seem to last as long as I would like.
  13. I second the Eco 4. I get about the same results with those as a CD 8. You might even try an Eco 2.
  14. STILL plugging along. I bumped up the soy and am having pretty good luck with the ECO 4. I need to wick down again to ECO 2 for some fragrances, though. I also ordered some more CD 8 and 10 to restest. I've been pinching the wick assemblies tight with pliers on all of my wicks after murrrayhill's suggestion, an I'm having a lot better luck, so I thought I would revisit the CDs and see if that would make them work. Love to hear what you come up with!
  15. I want it! Right now! :-) That is so darn cute!
  16. Well, I think it's beautiful. I looked at your page before I read the comments in this thread, and thought it was stunning from start to finish. Thank you for sharing. I would buy from that site in a heartbeat!
  17. Well, I looked at the links you guys were kind enough to share, but wholesale central charges $74 for the case of coffee cup warmers I want and www.acandleco.com charges $48 for the same thing. I also checked out Crazy Mountain, and I am only seeing two different warmers. Am I missing something?
  18. I'm having a mental block on names! I'm mixing Baby Powder and Lavender and can't come up with a name I love... Some maybes: Snuggle Baby Sweet Dreams Baby Lavender Lullaby (but I really want BABY in the name!) I've searched and searched and I'm coming up blank. Any ideas?
  19. Bumping this up to see if everyone is still interested? I just ordered coffee FOs, now I just need coffee cups!
  20. I second the Midsummer's Night. I get mine from Lonestar. Also crackling firewood/fireside would be nice for winter. Mine is from WSP. Good luck!
  21. I had no idea TP could be beautiful! Great job! Is there some kind of tutorial around here for making these?
  22. Not much help, but I bought a handful of these to test, also planning on red, white and blue layers. I haven't gotten around to testing them yet because I'm still working on those darn Libbey hearts. Grrr! I was planning on trying 3 wicks, but now I'm curious how 5 votive wicks would do. If these are half as much fun to test as the hearts, I may be going wickless! ;-)

    tart help

I think the FO load of 415 is 10%. I use about 9% in my melts. I enjoy doing things to excess, I guess.
