  1. I think BCN used to have spouts like that, and they are great! I frequently spill when the bottles are full, and it is expensive and messy! Has anyone seen Lonestar's new bottles? They are plastic that look just like CS's amber glass. If you put a spout on those, it would be the best of both worlds!
  2. Also, are you making tarts as well as candles?
  3. I don't know if this is any help, but before I switched to KY, I used 4794/415 soy mixed usually 70/30, and it still popped out of the clamshells and burners. I'd throw in a little J223 sometimes, too, but I don't know what % I used. It was a good mix for me, though. The only reason I switched was the convenience of scoopable wax.
  4. What kind of wax are you guys using HM in? I have Starville's and found that it was initally medium-strong, but burned off way too fast in my parasoy tarts. I had that problem with pretty much all of Starville's oils that I purchased. So bummed since I had heard such great things about them!
  5. I know everyone loves this in candles, but does anyone use it in melts? I have found that some fragrances that perform well in candles, don't always necessarily perform the same way in melts; they tend to smell strong at first, but the FO burns off too fast. Perhaps with candles this isn't an issue since you're not melting the whole thing at once. Maybe that is the issue here as I have only used this in melts...:undecided
  6. I made melts with it in my parasoy blend and wasn't too impressed. I've tested four Creme Brulees so far and the best for me has actually been Lonestar's. It was the first one I tested and I liked it, but I heard such great things about KY's, BCN's, and especially Starville's that I had to test those too, but my first was definitely the best! Maybe it just doesn't do well in soy?
  7. Wholesale Supplies Plus has one that is pretty yummy. I only tried it in lotion; no idea how it performs in wax or soap.
  8. Sorry, I didn't see the new post to this thread. I'm still using the KY with 25% soy, mostly because I still have it, but I'm still not sold. I think I may try adding some J223 I have on hand instead of the soy and see if that helps. I REALLY like the ease of use and not having to break or scoop wax, but I'm not convinced it is a better wax. I know I'm in the minority here! Another factor: I have been using 24 watt warmers whereas my old ones were only 14 watts. I think this has a lot to do with why my fragrance burns off so fast. I use 2 oz fo per lb. I am usually happier with the tests I do in the 14w warmers. Still strong enough, but lasts much longer....now what to do with this case of 24w warmers! Does anyone else have a problem with this? How long do your tarts last? I KNOW that is a whole other can of worms!! :tiptoe:
  9. No help, but I just had a customer request for it this weekend, too. I haven't ever smelled it, though. Any other suggestions?
  10. I love BCN's Home Sweet Home FO. It is one of my bestsellers!
  11. Awesome! Thank you all so much for your help. I have never ordered from any of these companies, so looks like I have some research to do!
  12. Thanks, everyone. Has anyone tried Lonestar's or NG's?
  13. I have a customer request for VS Pink for soy melts. I searched, but kept finding pink sugar, and a couple of really old threads about Pink. Can anyone recommend a good one for soy? I don't have a ton of money at the moment to test a bunch of different ones. :-) Thanks!
  14. When one of my friends smelled this stuff, she said it smelled like a grandma'a garden. I thought "English Garden" was slightly more marketable. Although I can't sell this stuff no matter what name I put on it!
  15. I have that oil, and I always thought it had a vomit undertone , but my husband loves it. It does mellow in wax; not sure about B&B though.
  16. I like the idea of the bigger clamshell, but I'm a bit nervous about being able to sell them. How much do you guys plan on or think a 10 oz. melt would sell for?
  17. Well, shoot. I was in a hurry, so I just ordered a sample from Starville. I will try BCS next time if Starville's isn't a winner. Thanks for the tip! Has anyone tried Starville's?
  18. In case that wasn't clear, that was a shout-out to the people selling skunky oils. Not the poor folks unlucky enough to buy them! Sorry you had to have that experience.
  19. I have a friend who REALLY wants me to make her some bluebonnet melts, and I'm not finding much in the way of reviews here. I did find a good review about TCS's, but then I read about a hundred bad reviews of their service, so I am a little nervous about ordering from them. Can anyone recommend a good bluebonnet? If TCS's is really the best, I'll brave it, but I thought I'd ask first! Thanks!
  20. Sounds like old oil to me! I had that happen to me on this board as well. Now I am very careful; if the listing does not specifically state the age of the oils or that they are "new" I will not purchase without asking the age first. I will say that while all of the oils I bought were obviously very aged (some of the packaging I know predates oils I have that are 5+ years old) a few of them did still smell great. There is a difference between selling old oil, and old SKUNKY oil! Throw them in the trash, guys! :tiptoe:
  21. I am pretty sure I used CD 8's successfully with this jar. I wound up going with the ECO 4 though. I use my own parasoy blend. HTH!
  22. Mine has been called Enchanted Forest and Log Cabin, depending on my mood!
  23. Thanks, everyone! I had a show this weekend and gave them away free with a $10 purchase. I was still uninspired, so I just called them mini tart cups. No one had a clue what they were! I was kind of feeling them out to see how people reacted to them since they are cheaper to make than clamshells, but after that show, I don't know! People were glad to get something free, but no one bought them at $1 each!
