  1. Well, it took several days (that I know of, maybe longer) for her to take it off the site; who knows how long it will take to get it put back up there? They may be trying to work through the backorders before they put it back up. I am out of the back-up wax I ordered from Miami-Erie and in a bind again. I guess I should have ordered more, but silly me, I almost believed them when they said my wax should ship last Friday. I placed another order with ME; wonder which one will get here first? If I sound like I'm grumpy, it's because I am! Grrr!
  2. Ky's is finally back in stock today, two weeks after I placed my order! A sweetheart of a candlemaker directed me to Miami-Erie Candle Supplies to find the same wax in a pinch. It's a little more expensive than KY's, but as far as I can tell, it's identical. Angie is wonderful to work with and ships quickly, so if anyone else gets in a bind, keep her in mind! I don't quite know what to think about the situation at KY. Vickey told me that she's sick and things aren't the same around there (clearly.) I feel terrible that she's sick, but I think maybe she is taking on too much herself and needs to get some help. I called to see if the wax was in a couple of days ago, when I didn't receive any response to my emails, and she didn't even let me get my sentence out before she came unglued on me. I don't mean to sound insensitive; I do feel for her, and I know she must have been really stressed to act that way, but holy cow! I didn't expect to get yelled at when I asked a simple question. I do hope she gets back to her old self soon...I miss the old KY.
  3. Tru, after seeing your pic, I'm a little less nervous. They are definitely not the same as the matte finish ones I have seen from them, but the glossy finish on the solid colors looks okay to me. I honestly still prefer the matte, but if a customer hadn't seen both finishes, they would probably never think twice about it. That being said, the glossy on the espresso and snowflake warmers was just not pretty to me, and I also didn't like that they were so much smaller than the square warmers. I love the huge size and agree that it makes them seem worth more. I'm thinking I will price the squares at $18-20.
  4. I just ordered a bunch from them that should be here anytime now. Thankfully, I didn't order the green, or espresso. I have seen both of these in person at a craft show, and the green ones looked like they are pictured on the site, and they were all definitely matte finish, and not shiny. I would be very upset if they were shiny as well. The ones I saw were a very pretty light sage green. I agree that it sounds like these slipped through quality control. I'm glad I saw the ones I did at the show, because I probably would have ordered the espresso & white emboss based on the website photos, but I really did not like them at all in person. I thought they looked cheap. I also got to see the red snowflake, and it had the same shiny, made in China look. I don't blame you for being disappointed. Had I not had the opportunity to see them in person, I would be in the same boat as you. Knowing what I know, I ordered a case of combo warmers, and 2 cases of illumination warmers in black, white, ivory & rustic emboss, and the Jack O'Lantern (soooo glad to here it's cute) If my black & white burners are shiny, I will definitely be disappointed because it just looks cheap to me. I have others from them with the matte finish, and the wax comes out with no problems, so I don't think that's an issue. The good news is, I have been ordering from CW for a long time, and have always found them to have excellent customer service. I'm sure if you call them and voice your concerns, they will make it right. Hope you get it worked out with your customers.
  5. Uh oh! I'm curious to see what they say because I am due to reorder soon! I don't want a giant case of dud clamshells! I'm no help, but I do appreciate the heads up.
  6. Vickey did make me feel somewhat better about the situation, and about the stability of KY. My last four or five orders seem to have had issues with something, but her email made me feel better. Nonetheless, I may be seeking alternatives for this wax as it costs me a ton every tim this happens, as I throw in goodies with my late orders to make up for the delay. Wish I knew for usre who manufactures this stuff! I'm not giving up on KY; I like their products too much, but I do need a backup plan. I'm pretty sure from now on, I will call before I order to make sure I'm actually getting what I think I am.
  7. And Metro, I agree - as I just told Vickey, I have always been happy with KY's products, and previously always happy with their service. However, I am not okay with them taking no reponsibilty for their mistakes. All I keep hearing is, "we can't control when we run out....we can't control how long it takes the manufacturer to get it to us....we can't control our trucks" I'm sorry, but I don't believe they are so powerless, and even if they can't control it, they still need to take responsibility. They CAN order sooner, they CAN list out-of-stocks on their site right away. Running out of wax was out of my control, (though, I should have know after this happened last time to reorder sooner) but I don't tell my customers that; I apologize like crazy and do whatever I can to make it right. It's called customer service.
  8. Cindy, I appreciate your info, too! I will definitely be checking that out as well. Sorry, I forgot to tell you that earlier. I was in a mood!
  9. Thank you all for your kind responses! You're all so helpful and kind to let me vent! MetroChic, I'm sure you already saw, but the wax is now listed as out of stock, although it wasn't when I ordered it. She says it will be there on Friday, and I am hoping that's true because last time this happened, it wasn't. I've had a couple of suggestions as to where else I can find a similar wax, so I think I'll be checking those out. It really bothered me that Vickey just wanted me to switch waxes with orders waiting, with no possible time to test. I'm just not willing to do that. I really appreciate all of the great info on your test results with the wax she suggested. I haven't actually ever found this mystery wax on the website either, though. If it was so great, why is it not for sale? Or maybe I'm missing it. Another thing that makes me wonder is the fact that she has previously stated that they just make their tester tarts in any old scrap wax they have lying around, but now she says they use this new wonder wax. Maybe they get consistent results in every wax they throw their oil in, but I know I don't. They have also been out of water crystals like 4 times in a row when I ordered them, though this was not stated on the site either. Things like this make me really worry about the stability of a vendor. I think I will be pursuing finding a replacement distributor for this wax.
  10. I did last time, and it didn't really get me anywhere. I just got my wax...eventually. I emailed her before I posted this, and haven't received any repsonse yet. I didn't post anything here after it happened the first time, but this is twice in a row now, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issues. They are offering to ship the oils I ordered separately from the wax, but making no offers to help out on the increased shipping of sending them separately, so that is an additional frustration. If I had issues like this with my customers (which I am about to, thanks to KY) I would be jumping through hoops to try to make things right with them, and I'm not getting that at all with KY. They just blame it on their trucks and say it's out of their control. What's NOT out of their control, is being up front with their customers and posting their outages on the website, so we're not promising things we can't deliver.
  11. I'm not sure where to post this, but is anyone else getting concerned about out-of-stock issues with KY's parasoy tart wax? I just ordered, and for the second time, the day after I ordered, I got an email saying that it is out of stock and won't be in until Friday. The last time, it ended up being several more days after the first date they gave me, so I don't even know if I can count on that. My first question is, why isn't that stated on the website? When I order something that says it's in stock, well...I expect it to be in stock. #2, Is this going to be a continuous issue with this wax? I have spent hundreds and hundreds in testing all of my oils in this wax, and the thought of having to start all over again makes me sick. I just can't afford to do it. This could literally put me out of business. Also, both times, Vicki has tried to turn me to another parasoy blend they have, but I can't get any info out of her about the percentages of soy in it vs. the tart wax. Maybe some people can just throw their oils in any old wax and sell it, but I don't work that way. All of my tarts are tested by at least two other people, and myself before they get added to my line. I am so upset right now, I don't know what to do! I have 5 lbs of wax left, and several online orders, whom I have promised shipment at the end of this week, or early next week. I love KY's wax and oils, but this is the second time they have put me in the position of having to go back on my word to my customers. That is not something I take lightly.
  12. Ooh, I'm excited! I got my shipping confirmation today, which really surprised me since they said processing time would be longer than normal. I ordered Bonfire Bliss, too! Can you really smell the marshmallows and other notes or just camp fire?
  13. That did concern me a teeny bit, too, but it says when you check out that your card will not be charged until the order ships. The newsletter also says it will be longer than normal processing time during their sale and the discount will be applied when your order is processed, so I bet it will be okay...it better!! You can always call tomorrow and verify.
  14. No, I haven't. I bet I can find it on youtube, though! I really liked the name idea, but I don't know if anyone would get it. I can hear it now...."Um, yeah. Lilacs are purple, right?"
  15. That's too funny! Someone was just telling me today that I needed to name a scent, "Green Grow the Lilacs" which is what the play was based on. Anyway, I would love, love, love a copy of the newsletter. PmM you. Thanks so much!!! :yay:

  17. You are probably tired of sending this by now, but if you get a chance, I would so love to see your form! I've just been contacted about doing a couple of fundraisers for some local churches and I have never done one before, so I'm a little nervous! I do have the candle cauldron forms, but would love to see yours! Thanks so much for sharing your hard work with all of us! Kerri countylinecandleco@yahoo.com
  18. Just placed my first order with Bert's on Wednesday, and it's here today! That's pretty impressive from Indiana to Oklahoma! Everything smells yummy! In the process of pouring testers now!
  19. That i sso funny that you posted this! I was just brainstorming that it sure would be nice if customers could shop right from my facebook page instead of linking it to etsy, and whattya know?! It's there, and I didn't even know it! So glad you posted this!!!
  20. I've gotten something similar on my etsy site from a couple of people who say they do reviews on youtube. I found it funny that one of them told me she was a huge fan of my products, and in the same message that she wanted to sample some of them before comitting to buy full size. Um...hello? How are you a fan if you've never tried them? When I clicked on her etsy profile a day later to check her out, the profile had been deleted. Not fishy at all!
  21. Yep, Yankee tarts are definitely .8 oz, which is the exact same size melt I make in the 1 ounce portion cups. I sell them for $1.25 each or 5/$5, which is a steal compared to Yankee. They are pretty much the same price ounce for ounce as my 3 oz. clamshells that I sell for $4. I mostly do clams, though. I don't think I would ever switch over-the portion cups are just a nice way to use up extra wax.
  22. I use 2 return adress labels, one on each side. One is just my company name and website, and the other has the scent. I can't ever get anything to stick to the lids of the one-ouncers.
