  1. I tried one year putting a lot of M&P I had made and had it wrapped in butcher paper just to transport it. Then when I got to the market I had it unwrapped and listed that it could but cut to any size but listed a price of $4.00 for a 4 oz piece. It didn't go over at all and everyone ended up buying my cut and wrapped pieces. Maybe if I'd done all of them uncut it might have worked but people just couldn't figure it out. I think it really depends where you are selling as well. Personally I think it looks really cool when I've seen other vendors do it.
  2. I'm doing 4 this year and did 5 last year. Six months a year I sell at a local market on Saturdays and then do the Christmas shows as well. Tonight and tomorrow is my first Christmas one of the season. Also I'm selling at another show this week-end but it was a drop off where other people sell your products as it's a huge fair where all the locals sell their homemade products. Then this coming Tuesday I do another show at the University I work at and it is always good as it's for the United Way (we all pay a bit extra for our table to go towards United Way and donate something) and always draws a big crowd. Then my final show is December 12th and 13th. In the midst of all that though I'm getting requests for products to sell in a few local stores. What is everyone else doing this year?
  3. Love your photos and your candles. I have Photoshop Elements and have no idea how to use it. What did you do to clean it up as I often take photos I'd like to tidy up a bit? The only thing I use Elements for now is to resize a whole batch of photos for my website. Your website is cute as well.
  4. I agree you should make more Twilight candles. I made a soap that I called Twilight and I accidently went to Forks this year too and I'm not even a fan. My sister and I took a road trip to Washington and Oregon and on the way home she had to use the rest room and we stopped at the Forks visitor centre and saw people going crazy. A friend of mine at work likes it so I snapped a photo of the red truck and photos at the visitor centre. It is very big right now.
  5. I tend to do mine mostly on top of the bar but if you get a suspending melt and pour base then you could mix it throughout the bar. Try one bar and see what happens but I'd stay away from epsom salts.
  6. I love the glass containers with 4 side by side. The labels are stunning.
  7. Those look wonderful and they don't look like you took a year off.
  8. Congratulations on your baby girl. Someone at my office just took a mat leave and she is about to give birth any day now. The butters look divine and what a great idea to add mica. Think I'm going to whip up some of these for my Christmas markets. I use water in my recipe though so I'll put them in my regular plastic containers. They look cute in the tins though.
  9. I like all of your soaps. You did a great job.
  10. Ditto on the SFIC bases as that is all I use. I've tried Stephenson's and other brands but prefer SFIC .
  11. There are no lids but these ones are plastic: http://www.candlewic.com/store/category.aspx?q=c52
  12. Hello, I've been making container candles for a few years now and made my first votives over the week-end. The first one I made was a beeswax one (I bought it at a local honey store where they make their own honey and sell beeswax in blocks, it's pretty clean) and put it in a votive holder and it burned all the way to ends except for one part where some of the edge remained. I used an LX 16 wick. The second one I made was a soy wax one with sunkissed currant scent, red wax colour and used Enchanted Lites pillar wax combines with some palm wax. I used an LX 14 wick for this. This was burned almost to the end but not quite. My votive holder is a 1.75 X 2". How is a votive supposed to burn? Should there be some of the edge left or should it burn all the way across the diameter of the candle like a container one does? Also there are so many votive holders with some being wider than others. The one I used was just a bit bigger than the candle. Just wondering if I should up the beeswax wick to LX18 and the soy to LX 16.
  13. I'm still experimenting but just made a votive with Enchanted Lites soy pillar wax and palm wax mixed together. It burned well for me but still working on the right wick.
  14. I agree the tins are great looking and they all look so cute lined up. My tins I use aren't from WSP but they rust sometimes too depending on what FO I use. The candles still burn beautifully but the outside edge of the tin doesn't look so pretty. I usually give them to friends or keep them for myself.
  15. Cool candle and I sometimes do double the price if I've paid a lot for my container. I tried to get on your website but couldn't. I'm in Canada as well so was curious to see your other creations.
  16. I love that shelf and the soap in the baskets looks great. If I walked by I'd want to reach in and grab a soap.
  17. Oh that blend sounds amazing. I'm going to go home after work and blend a bit of pumpkin and patchouli just to see what it would smell like. I think you can duplicate it or at least come really close.
  18. They look wonderful. I haven't seen a brick red or a red blue oxide before. I have burgundy oxide and the regular red oxide. They all look wonderful.
  19. The pattern is neat. I just bought a charcoal soap from a soap vendor over the week-end and yes it does show on the washcloth and on your skin but washes off. I want to try some but it's really hard to get where I am and don't want to buy from an American supplier when I just need one thing. Out of desperation I may go to the health food store here and break open all the capsules to get the powder as that is the only way I can find where I am. Awhile back I called all these fish places but no one had powder as they all sold granular stuff.
  20. That's great and I'm sure she will love it.
  21. Thank you for the compliments. I'm using a bar of Surf's Up in my shower and love it. Every batch I make I try even if I've made it before.
  22. Here are my newest soaps. Sugar Surf's Up Essential Oil Blend Give Me Some Sugar (Sugar and Citrus scent combo)
