  1. Those who PM'd me about the labels, I am an avid scrapbooker, and I think it reflects in my work a lot. I also have taken a few graphics classes. We found it very cost effective to lease a professional printer, so we do print them all in house. The printer is good for our UPC codes as well. I used to pay a printer big bucks, then I got smart!!
  2. Yes, the wicks are mounted on the gel, and we also use a special crimp on the wick, so it will go out, if the customer ignored the burning instructions... The gel is decorative only, but people bring them back for refills all the time.
  3. Some candles, we pull up the wick after and put it in a clothespin, while the wax is still warm. It's just faster then sticking them up, pouring and then adjusting. If we are just doing a dozen or something, we will stick them up first.
  4. CraftyChris here, been awhile, like a YEAR!!! Thought I would share some of the goodies we make in our shop.... We use mostly paraffin, but also work with gel, and soy in some of our candles, depending on the look I am trying to achieve. For those who don't know me, I Christine, and I make candles full time for a living. I have been at it for about 15 years now, and have a staff of 7. We have a retail store, but specialize in wholesale orders, supplying a few chain stores here in Canada, and a lot of gift shops. I used to post on here all the time!! I found a lot of inspiration from my on line friends, and hope some of our candles inspire you as well.
  5. Your candles are very cool! I love them, eye catching. The only suggestion I would make is to change up the label on the smaller jar. It takes away from the beauty of the candle and the effect you got with the colour and wax. The clear label on the bigger jar is great!
  6. Hey, I think it's factory something.... they sell the pip candle rings, the caps, silicone bulbs and so on, and for the life or me I can't find the site. Anyone know?
  7. I am looking for green and red foil, anyone know were to get it?
  8. silicone, but I want the slices to be in a fan shape. I have tried to do it with just the embed wax, but can't get it to look right. Anyone know were to find this mold? I would rather just buy it then make the mold up.... thanks!
  9. :confused:Anyone try it out? I got the info pack, and looks like $650-$1200 is the ad prices. Seems pretty high, but if it's a popular mag and I get a return on it... anyone try it yet?
  10. I want to make a rolling photo slideshow, to use on my website, and on the computer monitors in the store (as screensavers) Maybe for YouTube... who knows, want it for personal use as well!! Anyways, what is a god free program to do this? I googled it, and founds tons, anyone use any, and like them? Thanks! Christine
  11. Thanks Vicky, I admire your work as well
  12. http://www.vanyulay.com/ has great molds, really nice quality and detail.
  13. i really like the pillar, the soft stripes are really pretty:smiley2:
  14. Yes, we make all the fruits by hand. It is a lot of fruit, we have fruit days in our shop! Today 2 of us made cherries, blueberries, strawberries, pie crusts and boysenberries. They go into stock. I have students who do prep work on the weekends, and the candle makers make the actual candles monday-friday. The students do wicking and packaging as well. They hate blueberries:rolleyes2
  15. I thought I would share a few of my new fruit candles for spring. One is a fruit flan, scented with a blend of fruits, and the other is a gel fruit slices jar, with wax slices, scented fruit slices. The tealights is our new packaging, I really like it although it's a pain. And our jar collection, with the new labels Hope our customers like them!
