  1. I can't help as mine are about 85-90% soy and the rest is palm wax. You could try an LX 16 or LX 18, HTP 105. I do the 4 oz deep containers.
  2. I have a few that are uncoloured (scent free and a Pomegranite one and they seem to do well. The rest are lightly coloured. My advice is to go for it, I know a candle maker where I live who does all her soy candles with no colour and does well.
  3. I think I'm just going to order a 10 pound bag next time I need soy wax and give it a try to see what it's like. Then I'll be able to let others know how it works. I'm always wondering about other soy waxes out there so when I see something new I can try I usually jump at the chance.
  4. Hello, I usually use Enchanted Lites or Ecosoya CB Advanced for my candles but just found a new supplier that carries Naturewax by Cargil. Can anyone tell me what it is like compared to the two I'm already used too? Is hot fragrance throw better for EO's/FO's? Is it hard to wick etc.? Is it a tricky wax to work with? I know I have to test, test, test but just wondered about it from those who use it. I did try a search just typing in Naturewax by Cargil and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. To those who use it what are the pros and cons?
  5. That's cool I didn't even know that was possible. I used to do hot process a few years ago and haven't done it since. That's cool you figured it out.
  6. sherry, I've got to try this as it sounds like great idea. I find I'm always remelting when I'm testing things and it's a big job. Do you do this with a smaller size container? I usually am testing 4 oz or 2 oz deep tins so hoping my wick can find it's way down to the wick tab.
  7. Vanessa, I just used straight Anise EO but a combination is a great idea for next time.
  8. That is lovely and your scent free customers will be stoaked. Sometimes I make a really pretty unscented bar because I feel like the scent free people have to miss out on scent so they should at least have a great looking bar.
  9. The colour is amazing and the bars look wonderful. Have you ever made a bad looking soap? Swirls are to die for.
  10. Those are so nice and colourful.
  11. I don't know about a price for the States but I make mine pretty big and charge $2.00 for one. Mine have pine cones and are different colours etc. and are all scented different scents.
  12. The colours are amazing and I love the look of them.
  13. Those look beautiful and the scent sounds amazing.
  14. I've used Enchanted Lites container wax, and Ecosoya pure, Advanced (can't remember if I've done CB 135 but think I have) and all work fine in tealights. You do get a scent throw but not as strong compared to a larger container burning the same scent. Still you can smell it and it's even better if you burn more than one tealight. Essential oils are not as strong though as fragrance oils at least in my tests they haven't been as strong especially if you are using lighter scents.
  15. Those are very cool. I have e-mailed about directions but this was posted awhile ago so we'll see what happens.
  16. Thanks everyone. I wanted it to be blacker and did it in the oven as I need it in a few weeks. Billie, The Licorice smells amazing. I had people keep asking me for it so decided to make some and it smells divine. I can't wait to try it out.
