  1. So I saw the part where you said you were still getting the hang of it and didn't know what to expect only to see candles that look like a pro made them. Fantastic, I remember seeing these types of candles when I was younger but haven't seen any lately. It looks like it takes ages. Wish I lived in Texas so I could watch you making them.
  2. Sorry to hear about your dear dog. The soap is beautiful by the way and what a nice tribute.
  3. That's beautiful and the white looks so creamy. It's CP isn't it? It looks like M&P only since it's so white. My soap never gets that white.
  4. The soap is wonderful and I love the colours. The scent sounds great as well.
  5. carmellajarvis, Where could I find this universal additive? Does it make the scent in your candles stick better? I am having a hard time keeping a good scent when using EO's in soy candles so wondered if this additive might help.
  6. Hi, I've used a palm wax blend (well I used to anyway, now I'm using soy) and had no problems with a hot throw.
  7. I started off making Palm candles and got a palm blend from a Canadian supplier. It was a breeze to work with and wonderful. Then all my customers kept asking for soy so I slowly started making a 100% soy candle. Love the burning but they are hard to make. I have to heat gun every single one I make to get it to look right. Plus using EO's with soy is hard because it doesn't hold the scent. Palm was way easier but my market really likes the soy so I've stuck with that. Right now though I'm thinking of trying some paraffin only candles and will try a few just to see if customers would buy them and they would be cheaper. What are the benefits of paraffin over soy other than the price?
  8. Hello, I'm new to this forum and have been making soap for about 6 years now. My favourite method is CP (non gel or oven method) but I also make M&P, HP (although very rarely now). I started off just doing M&P and then a friend showed me how to make HP and from there I learned CP. Also make candles, butters, sprays etc. Found this site and knew I wanted to join.
  9. My favourite is my mold from Soaphutch. It's a custom design and I got it in April and it's the only mold I use now. It can make any size bar I want. I can make 3 logs of 15 1" bars in a 3.5x2.25 size (the height can go up to 3.75" though. It can also make 3 logs of 15 1" bars in a 3 1/8x2 1/8 size. It can also make 16 individual (divider) bars that are 3.5x2.25 high or 32, 54 of divider bars that you can then cut each log into it's own bar. Or I can fill the whole slab or make several different bars in the log style with the many dams I ordered. The possibilities are endless really and I was so blown away by the craftmanship and attention to detail. It doesn't have to be lined, is easy to clean up and easy to use.
  10. That blue is to die for. It's pretty.
  11. They are all nice but love that colourful one that's called Jamaica me Crazy. That's a winner.
  12. Those colours are beautiful and it sounds like a divine bar. I've yet to attemp GG salt bars but I've seen the tutorial. Someone sent me a link to this site and I knew right away I wanted to join. I too am looking forward to seeing the cut bars.
  13. Hello Everyone, I'm new to this site and noticed I can finally post. Personally I really like SFIC but don't get their low sweat type. It's wonderful but it doesn't last long. Now I use their regular (original, I get it from a Canadian supplier who calls it a different name) base of white and clear and love it. I've tried Stephenson's but didn't like their ingredient list so went back to SFIC. Don't know about the other brands though. One of the main reasons I like SFIC is their ingredient listing as I sell to a very informed market.
