  1. since we're going into spring... pineapple cilantro, verbena berry, country berry hotcakes, lime leaf & lily, pink sugar, wildberry zinger tea
  2. Anita! they look fantastic!
  3. WSP also has water based fo's. i have used the heather, lavender and fresh linen. not sure if they still carry those, but they were nice. one thing i found though is the scent didn't last as long as regular fo's in a cyclomethicone spray or even in body spray like BC's which you just shake before each use. for shower gel, lotions, you don't need to use water based.
  4. For our new Data base Additives if any? none Preferred dyes? reddi'glo chips for great color, also reduces frosting Preferred wick (Not sizes)? cd's Pouring temp you recommend? 100* What you do to prevent frosting? pour at 100* What you do to prevent rough tops?pour at 100* Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? no, never had a customer comment on them.
  5. BCN's lemon pucker has that tart fresh lemon scent with no sugary or cakey notes to it. i literally pucker when i stick my nose in the pour pot ,lol. seriously! and no fuel smell. i have used it in both paraffin and soy, with no fuel smell and my nose picks up on that with citrus and mints.
  6. here are a couple this one was one i did for a swap. time consuming, but gorgeous. the pic doesn't do it justice with the different hues of glitter.
  7. a chandler that also makes B&B...i don't consider myself a pro since even the pro's are always learning. my friends refer to me as a sample slut,lol....
  8. in EZ-Soy at 1 oz per pound, these kicked butt. BCN Lemon Pucker Wildberry Zinger Tea country berry hotcakes blueberry muffin Twigs & Berries Pineapple Cilantro verbena berry coconut cream pie pecan pie nutty taffy apple water blossom ivy strawberry jam pink sugar pina colada oatmeal milk & honey pumpkin pie special( closeout) hot cocoa lime leaf & lily pineapple blossom BCS coconut lime lemon pound cake red velvet cake homespun sugar whipped cream creme brulee holiday wassail sissie's sugar cookies pumpkin cheesecake cranberry crumble KY clothesline fresh snuggle baby orange chiffon cake JBN iris & fern citrus & teakwood clover & apple ginger bergamot oakmoss & clary sage tea leaf & jasmine they did have a great mint leaf, but it had the fuel smell. was great in B&B though
  9. AHA! it's cause it's listed under soap supplies instead of B&B...duh on me!
  10. Bitter Creek only sells liquid or gel tone B&B dyes. The only dye chips they carry are for wax only. They are not safe for B&B use.
  11. i have my teenager trying this with it being 25% olive oil and 75% castor. i added geranium and ylang-ylang eo's. he has been massaging it onto his face, then laying a hot washcloth over his face until it has cooled. then wipes away the oil. so far his teenager skin is liking it! i just mixed up a blend for myself today. 25% castor and 75% olive with sandalwood, geranium, rosewood, myrrh, petitgrain and ylang ylang for dry skin...i'll keep you posted!
  12. i use this base... i cut it into chunks and melt on medium heat in the microwave in a glass pyrex measuring cup. remove when a few small chunks are left. add .5 oz per pound. weight or measurement(1TBSP). either works fine for this application. right after you pour into molds, spritz with rubbing alcohol to prevent surface bubbles. as soon as it's completely set up and unmolded, wrap because the glycerin acts as a humectant and will draw moisture to it, causing sweat, which makes for a sticky bar. OR it can dry out...weird i know! but unlike cp, it will sshrink up a bit and not look so nice if left open to the elements.
  13. patchouli, eucalyptus, rose, vanilla grapefruit, and willowoods mary jane was by far te worst...i threw away the molds, pour pot and the fo, blech! i will never forget that smell!
  14. for soy i add fo at 170-175*. i don't see how the fo can bind with the wax at much lower temps. for parafin, 180-190*, depending on the technique. you won't burn off the fo unless you keep it on high heat for a lengthy period of time... some techniques require you to pour a lot hotter. i have poured at 185-190* and still had a strongly scented candle.
  15. if you want a killer throw...i mix lavandin with the lavender fo from BCN. that blend is so strong, i can't go over .5 oz per pound
  16. Bitter Creek North's is dead on. I purchased a braided sweetgrass from the medieval faire, so i could compare side by side to the fo. it was an awesome replica.
  17. i am a firm believer of adding fo no lower than 170* to make sure the fo fully incorporates into the wax. so i heat to 170-175* add fo @ 170*,let cool to 100* and pour. i did a side by side test burn comparison with ez-soy. one with fo added @ 120* and one with fo added @ 170*. the hot throw was stronger from the one poured @170*. pouring @100* gives the smoothest tops. while the manufacturer recommends their own temps. you will get positive reviews from peeps that do it either way...i think it's whatever works for you, but i recommend the higher temp.lol!
  18. i toss the chip in right after i put the wax in...so they melt together
  19. you can get baking soda at the grocer's just look for arm & hammer brand in the baking aisle. when baking soda and citric acid are combined, they will fizz when in contact with water. as far as i know, you need both
  20. how are they in soy? i just got s few and the dragonfire is my son's favorite. of the ones i ordered, they remind me of the rennaissance faire, but i ordered scents like dragon fire, amber dawn, white witch, black pepper. i also got the green irish tweed, which smells like a good smellin man. shipping came quick to Mn.
  21. grrrr..okay, here's what i would say... we are very flattered by the interest to make candles. however, we are not offering candlemaking classes at this time. if you would like to be on our contact list when/if we do have a class, we will let you know in advance so you can start saving the $10,000 fee we charge for classes. we will also include a list of supplies required for class attendance. seriously....that e-mail just chapps my hide! i remember when i did gel sea scapes. i had a customer go on and on about how cool she thought they were( co-worker had purchased one) and insisted she purchase one for herself. about a week after receiving it, she called asking me how to make them. she went on about how she took it all apart and couldn't figure out( after many failed attempts), how i got the gel to not cloud from the sand. could i please tell her my step by step instructions. i was flabbergasted! then replied with, i am very flattered that you like the candle so much, but our company policy prohibits divulging trade secrets.
  22. we get ours from Bitter Creek North. they are under "molds."
  23. tuscan sunset tuscan sunrise under the tuscan sun (lol) daybreak
