since the sugar would be on the outside of the rim, it would be fine. i have used sugar and candly sprinkles in candles with no problem. i don't think the sugar would burn since you can take a torch to creme brulee to carmelize the sugar topping. that little amount shouldn't affect the candle.

you could mod podge the rim, then roll in salt or sugar...even stearic acid would work for the look.

i agree with trish on warming the molds a bit, the first pour is cooling too quickly. i would also up the pour temp a few degrees

thanks...i looked and while she has excellent molds, i still haven't found the one i am looking for...any other recommendations?

who are some good supply sources for pillar molds, like the silicone/rubber types that you pull away. i am looking for one with small roses all over the sides.

i shrink wrap for indicvidual sales...but if it's a dozen of same scent, i jhust package them in a box with no shrink wrapping.

BCN's strawberry jam reminds me of making homemade strawberry jam/preserves with my grandmother....yummy!

most of my soy candles will do that. and i do not dye them.

i tried the powder at BCN, and got a great black and no problems with the burn. i agree the liquids are messy, but don't toss them if they thicken up, just add a few drops of mineral oil. -
