  1. i live in MN and order from BCN all the time...shiping is actually pretty good from them. i haven't found anyone in MN to be up to my expectations for supplies.
  2. i am very impressed for a 1st pillar! good job! and yeah,lol...86 the vybar.
  3. wow! they look yummy! i was wondering...how long do they burn? i've only seen the taller ones, and they didn't look this real.
  4. Doneen at Bitter Creek has a page somewhere listing the dyes...i think flakes were one listed that can prohibit mottling...
  5. MUCH better! although you could list we use "soy based wax" in the reasons holasoy is ...i can understand you getting defensive...after all it's your "baby" so to speak ,and you were/are proud of it. BUT when you come to a board full of candlemakers , some of which have been doing this for many years...you HAVE to expect constructive critism. especially when you ask peeps to check out your site. that being said...if you want to get far and suceed in this biz, take the suggestions and work with them. most of us know what we are talking about ...live and learn. don't get rude or put down other candlemakers...not cool and as you can see, we do take offense to that. we have worked long and hard...it's difficult to deal with a "newbie" whose still green, that won't be open minded...after all...we are trying to help. if we weren't...we wouldn't waste our time here... obviously you already have taken in some of the suggestions, and it does look more appealing...amazing what changing a few words can do. eating crow isn't easy and i would imagine that on some level you are...it's hard to chew, but worth the experience sometimes....
  6. if you want black cherry...BCS is killer...if you want it to be more like a maraschino cherry, try the almond or amaretto at BCN...it can definitely pass for that kind...
  7. a few things...there is alot i like pertaining to the overall look of the site...BUT soy candles can soot just as bad as paraffin, if you don't have the proper wick, recipe and burning conditions...white soot, black soot...both can do equal damage... comparison( put down/bashing) selling always gets my no vote....if your product is that good, it will sell itself...you can word it as promoting your product without putting down another...besides it shows more tact in doing so. any site that gives the pros of soy versus the cons of paraffin gets another no vote for me...it's just not necessary. plus it looks like the seller is insecure about their product and feels the need to put down the other... you don't see bigger names putting down other companies...they don't have to. put your product on a pedestal by boasting about it....without pointing at others. and i just have to say....while paraffin might very well be more "common", soy is considerably less costly as paraffin....(don't like the word "cheaper") also, rustic applies to a rustic looking finish/look...your rustics are chunks....you could miss an entire market by not nameing them as such...and rustic lovers would be disappointed since they are looking for the other look. sadly, i have yet to see a rustic pillar....would be cool tho. in case you thought i was biased...i make soy, paraffin and soy/parafin blends,to appease all my customers...and i have never needed to boast about pros or cons of either wax...9 times out of 10 my customers already knows what they are looking for...if they have questions, i can give the pro's without pointing out cons....it's all good...
  8. my front label has "made in (town) MN" or "hand poured in (town), MN" down across the bottom...on the back i have contact info...
  9. i like it! but i have to ask...how is it going to fit in a snug holder? i had this problem when i over dipped some votives...they didn't fit in the holders, and the next size up left big gaps...and we all know what happens there,lol!:rolleyes2 one thing...personally....i would just stick with the boot instead of both. maybe i am just prone to avoiding candles with an embed smack in the middle. i would love to see this in a small pillar...
  10. Bittercreek's Vermont Maple for my first pic genwax's maple for a second( good in paraffin)

  14. you could do a 4" pillar with a tealight or votive cup insert... maybe try glueing the rhinestones to the heads of pins/nails or brads, then pushingthe pins/ brads into the candle???
