  2. just last night i had a big oops.... while trying to squeeze one drop of teal liquid dye into my jar of aroma beads...it happened...POP!!!! teal dye sprayed all over my kitchen and me! it took over an hour to clean up and well, the jar of beads is ruined....and my clothes...new tennies...and even after a shower...i still have green spots all over my arms and hands! even found one on my glasses! i bet my son's dr. looks at me oddly when we walk in today!
  3. i think it would take a lot for BC to turn away a customer, ...
  4. my son is with the local fire department. they HIGHLY discourage using any of the plug ins because they say they are a fire hazard.
  5. i think that if you want your business to grow, it's a great effective way of getting there. i was recently asked to provide some product to go in some vip gift bags for a magazine launch party, hosted by a local radio station. boutique owners, models, designers, etc will be there...who knows who will end up with them, but if it means a couple of boutiques want to carry the line...great! who knows if it would have happened another way...sometimes it's all about timing
  6. do any of you add fo or eo to your teas...currently i do not, but had a couple customers ask...
  7. hmmm.....http://www.oldvirginiacandle.com/index.php?cPath=50
  8. herbco.com or WSP has tea blends all ready to go...
  9. with EZ-soy, i melt to 175* add the fo right away, then cool to 100* to pour. ading fo at a higher temp is the only way to ensure the wax and oil bind properly.

  13. hon, just get a paypal or debit card account. it doesn't take long to sign up and there is a page on security tips there that has great guidelines. i look at it like this...if i want something from X supplier, than i would get a paypal account or debit card to order. especially if they were who i ordered from in the past and plan to order from again. besides..each supplier will have different stuff...and BC has their base and flavors made specially for them, other suppliers won't have the same. even if you only use it once, it's kinda nice to have. i have had mine for ever and never once had a problem...
  14. rofl!!! do you mean cloth snowmen that are tea stained?
  15. perfume is a hot ticket item right now...what's geting more notice is "layering" the scents with shower gel, lotion, body sprays and topping off with perfume. linen spray to match is the added bonus.
  16. WSP has one that smells true oob, but i never got around to pouring it...Chamomile has a bit of a sweet apple scent to it....
  17. i know exactly what you mean...my last show , i had the exact same thing happen...and by another candle /B&B maker! she was like" you make these"?...yes...." "by yourself"?...yes...." everything looks so professional..." so i said, thanks, i hand pour every product to guarantee premium quality, and package everything myself as well. she kept making comments, then was like" so, you do thins in your home? where in your home"?...the questions didn't stop. i seriously think that she was telling peeps that i was rep or distributor, along with all the "nice" things we already know she was saying about our products. it's jealousy...her stuff wasn't so nice looking and that's all it was. don't change a thing! you never know who will pick up on your products and want them in their shop. i saw your products and they look fantastic! handmade, hand poured, homemade doesn't work for out parts...peeps look right over that anymore. they decide for themselves ...and if they don't purchase because it looks too professional, then they miss out. there are plenty that DO want the more professional look...

  19. just got my order in on monday and one of the samples is Aveda's Indegenous...i'll let you know how it does in a parasoy blend when i pour it. i am bummed about the Pink Sugar. the vanillins crystalized big time in our cold weather, so i had to set the bottle in hot water. then i put it in cyclomethocone...crystalized and now i have 3 kinds of floaties that formed as a result of the blend. hot water and shaking don't help at all...but the scent is pretty good. made bath bombs in what was left. the black raspberry vanilla is awesome too...clouds the cyclo, but it's aweeome and will get some in wax soon as well.
  20. Cookies for Santa from BCN mixed with Sissie's Sugar Cookies from BCS...top seller for me
  21. way cool! how did you get the gel to not shift if it lays on it's side?
  22. i like how the colors blended on the blue one...it lends a soft touch to it.
  23. definitely need to make sure the wicks are straight, or you'll have a blow out on the side the wick is closest to. wick pins are awesome. as far as backgrounds... when taking pics, make sure the surface is level and clean. ( i hate when i go to the trouble to take a good pic, only to find i forgot to dust, lol!) tucking in fabric distracts from the object; the candle. all you really need is a flat surface and a piece of poster board propped up behind the object. i like white because i can easlily crop the object out of the background, to insert into any program later. then take shots at eye level. later on, try adding little accents to the bottom, like setting in a dish with rocks, flat marbles, sand, etc...candle holders...just start out simple, then work your way through..
