  1. Daystar has a cuppa chai that is fantastic. I use it in eco pure with wonderful results. One of my all time favorites. If it smells like Yankme I dont know I stay away from them. LOL Natalie
  2. I have never ordered a perfume duplicate. Wondering if anyone has feedback, there are good reviews on the site. I use pure soy and just wondered if anyone has tried it. Natalie
  3. I learned and practiced and practiced on the 8 oz JJ. As soon as I thought I had them mastered I moved on, to different jars. But with the price of everything else, they make the most sense economically. Any thoughts on whether people really care what the containter is as long as the product makes the air smell good? Im having a hell of a time deciding what to order. We are having a wet week here in Kansas. Have a good weekend. Natalie
  4. I too have been evaluating my candles and what vision I have for them this year. I just talked this over with my business partner (mom):smiley2: and I did not color last year, except for my light purple lilac candle. This year I will not color either but am going to move away from the square masons. They have been good to me but I need change. I think no color gives them a more eco frienly appeal. Natalie
  5. I use ecosoya pure and have ordered it from WSP and I see Backwoods offers it too would you want to share where you get yours. Sorry I had no suggestions on the wick. Natalie
  6. Has she taken over several smaller fragrance companies? I received several emails that some places have closed. I need to study her selection. Any suggestions? I know that is subjective but fo's are so overwhelming. I have narrowed my choices down to no bakery scents, well sort of, you all know how that goes. Natalie
  7. I watched the demonstration video on the site, I have not used gb 464 but have used eco wicks quite a bit. I see a lot of testing in tins being posted and also the wax. I have not been on the craft server for awhile so forgive me if this topic has been covered. Just wondering if there recs are pretty close. I think they test a lot I am thinking of trying this wax. I have missed this site, finally called Peaks to find out what happened. Natalie
  8. So if I dont stock up now you think the prices might go higher? Groceries are out of this world. A gallon of milk is 3.85 come on. And an election year oh boy, or lady Natalie
  9. I guess everyones just about did yikes I had not had to price wax for awhile. Wish I had a supplier close. Natalie Why did it go up? Someone mentioned it in a earlier post but I guess I was in denial.
  10. For those of you who mentioned was your wax soy? I know there have been threads about sweetcakes and soy. I called them and they dont test in soy. Thanks Natalie
  11. This probally should be in the business side of things but I am commenting from the White Barn Candle thread. I priced my 8 ounce masons to low. So now I have limited my production that is for sale, currently I am trying to create more of a buzz you know people want what they think everyone else is getting. I dont know the effective date or what angle I am going to approach. But my prices are going up to at least 1.50 a ounce. I probally will have to change my jar. Hindsight is 20/20 Nat
  12. I also think that less FO is better. And in my opinion there are scents that will throw from CS no matter how you treat them. Hansel and Gretel and Cranberry Marmalade are two I have tried several adding temps and wick and I always get throw in eco pure.Plus scent throw is subjective you might not think you do but you do.Natalie
  13. I cant be sure but were these fragrances listed on the Fragrance twins post?
  14. With all the chocolate talk I got some of the CS chocolate milk from the reserves out this morning. It is very good but one of the first chocolates I have tried. I am going to do some testing, once I find one I dont usually change but I've got some testing to do.Natalie
  15. Thanks for the heads up on the gcc I need to order some testers from peak and I am in love with BBW chocolate amber. I still love CS chocolate milk.I just need to convince others around here how great chocolate in a candle can be.Natalie
  16. I just got a whiff at BBW and I really like this. I never want to do dupes but given my CS chocolate milk addiction, I would like to try this in soy, it smells really good. Natalie
  17. I think Greenleaf has unique scents same as Just By Nature. I guess they are owned by family so some of their scents might be duplicates. I once ordered a sampler from JBN I only chose scents with patchoulie, amber or some other woodsy note to it. Long story short, all ten samples were on a table with stick em notes by two jars of each. SOMEone moved every jar and I had a hard time figuring out which was which. But every scent threw in my soy and was great. I figured out a few Cituis and Teak and Cinnamon Bayberry are both very good, and unique in my opinion. Good Luck on your unique scents, as Martha Stewart says "Dont follow trends, start them" Natalie
  18. I am burning blackberry marmalade from CS and it is good, I think I like the cran marm better howerver. Also very vanilla from CS. That's it for now. For both scents I use my old faithful square masons eco pure and lx 28's I know that seems big but I have always got my lx's from the same supplier and LX 26's were fine for awhile but I think I experienced some wick inconsistensies. I get some mushrooming but sometimes a think my wick trimmer is to blame, need to try nail clippers for a cleaner cut. In my tins I think eco's are best. I think I get good hot throw, but I always wonder if some of you get a hot throw that would really surprise me. Natalie
  19. This fall upon customer requests I started making a lilac from Peaks and had several great comments. One lady has bought a lilac candle for the last 11 years as a present for a friend and she called to let me know that mine was a far superior product. So I am glad you are having good luck with yours also. I will stick with Peaks just because it works but it makes me curious to try BW.Isn't it great when hot throw is right on the mark?Natalie
  20. Peaks works really well for me in eco pure. I like it but could not get many other people to agree with me. I am indicisive so when I find a scent that is good I dont try other companies because I would get frustrated. natalie
  21. Daystar has a iced Tuberose but I have not tried it yet, but maybe that gives you another option. natalie
  22. They must of heard me whinning. Sea Mist, I am placing a order in 5 4 3 2 Natalie
  23. When I was little my grandmother thought her closet smelled a little "musty" so she lit one of her pillars made with the gulf wax anyways she lit the candle in the closet and went outside to mow, lets just say the parakeets did not make it and she spent the summer with us while the house was rebuilt. I remember a post I did earlier this summer I tested hot apple pie from JBN and I knew it was good because my house smelled great when I came inside from doing yard work. I guess genuis runs in my family natalie
  24. As a lot of you know the candle business is a 5 billion dollar a year industry. I just figured hey I want a piece of that action and I can have a lot of candles. After I crunched my numbers for 2007, my biggest problem is volumn. The demand is there, but until I can meet the demand in a big way, I think I am mainly breaking even. This year I would only allow myself to buy product/supplies with money generated from candle sales in years past I dipped into my own pocket. I am considering a apprentice. Ha HaI just wish my retail sales tax number actually got me a discount somewhere, supplies cost the same for hobbiest to business person for the most part.Natalie
