  1. I have a sample, but haven't done anything with it. It does have a masculine tone to it OOB. To my nose, it's light on the citrus. I do believe if more citrus would be added (something really juicy like Satsuma maybe?), it just might almost smell like Orange Sapphire from BBW. Almost. But not quite.
  2. Let's give it some va-va-va-voom with a drop or two of sandalwood.
  3. My favorite cotton candy is from MMS. Strong and realistic!
  4. Haven't named it yet. Still pondering on that one!
  5. Mix equal parts of: Mango Green Tea (I use NG... it's the BEST Green Tea I've found... all the others I've tried got that floral note to it that is just.... ugh to me) Straight Coconut
  6. I'll have to try this! I've been thinking of some kind of vanilla blend to make a roll-on perfume for myself. I want something that smells like creamy vanilla, but with a tad bit of "foody sweet" vanilla in it (but not much). Sounds like what I've been wanting! Thanks Candybee!
  7. I tried MMS Shea years ago, and I didn't like the fact that it was hard as a rock. Not sure if it's the same now, or not. The best shea butters I have found are from: Scent Works- it's unrefined, so it has that natural smokey smell, but it's soft and creamy, and not grainy. WSP- refined shea butter- another one that's soft and creamy, and it's ultra white with no smell. Texas Natural Supply- Their shea butters are also lovely! (and they have a Vanilla Butter that's to die for!)
  8. 50/50 Straight coconut and antique sandalwood (CS- my fave sandalwood!) I LOVE this blend. You can also add a tiny bit of Mimosa ? (it's from CS too is it Mandarin Mimosa? I can't remember!) to this to give it a bit of a fruity kick. Another mix I tried, but can't remember the ratios: Straight coconut, Green Tea, and a straight mango. I have a blend of Frank & Myrrh and coconut in the shop marinating. Smelled ok at first... but not sure how it smells right now though! I let my blends sit a few days before really judging. I love to mix coconut with EVERYTHING. Imma coconut FREAK.
  9. I had a BIG problem. At first, it was like everyone said... got compliments all the time how my house smelled good, how I smelled good. But when you work out of your kitchen (the same place you make food), it got to where our food was absorbing FO smells, no matter how immaculate or careful I was making things. I remember throwing a whole loaf of bread away because it tasted like Peppermint EO. It finally go so bad in here, that we would feel sick all the time. Headaches... nausea.... the smell became overwhelming and made us feel even more sick. I kept everything stored in the laundry room, but when the air or heater would kick on, it was like the smell would go EVERYWHERE. It got to the point to where I was so sick all the time (and this might sound crazy, but sometimes the smells would "flare up" my ulcer, actually makes my stomach HURT, and to this day, if I stay too long in the shop, I start feeling sick), I had to buy a metal shop building to move everything in there, and start making things in there. Felt the difference the first week after everything was out of here, and we aired out the house. I would NEVER make anything pertaining to B&B (or candles, but I don't do candles) in my house ever again. Never, never, never. When it starts affecting your health, it's time to move it out! Really, how bad is inhaling FO fumes? Last year, I was taken over by bees in my shop. They could smell the FO from outside, and somehow, got inside. (The FO fumes in my shop are strong.) Walked in there one morning... omg... bees everywhere. (I'm scared of bees!) I shut that door real quick, and an hour later, DH came home, I got him to go in there to get the bees out... he walks in... dead bees all over the floor, not one bee was alive. After an hour of being cooped up in the shop. ALL DEAD. I had a helluva time cleaning up in there after that one. Just thought I would share my experience.
  10. I have purchased two of the woodwick Febreeze candles and I loved them. They did not crackle though, which isn't a big deal to me. They burned wonderful. I got the Green Tea & Citrus- amazing hot throw and Orange & Honeycomb- hot throw was just ok, but not great like the green tea one.
  11. If you are still looking for suggestions, try mixing it with some type of cornbread or zucchini bread. Another suggestion is mixing it with Eggnog. Pumpkin Eggnog... Yum!
  12. Try mixing it 50/50 with Zucchini Bread. I had tarts in each Creme Brulee KY and Zucchini Bread KY. I mixed two cubes of Creme Brulee, and two cubes of Zucchini Bread in my big tart warmer, and it smelled like a creamy vanilla cake!!! I haven't mixed the oil, just played around with blending the tarts I had. Turned out good!
  13. Well, after a Dr. visit yesterday for my son, and his rash being diagnosed as eczema, (I tried everything under the sun to make this go away, but NOTHING worked)... he prescribed some kind of cream to use. Well, wouldn't you know it, Walmart Pharmacy is out of the cream and they have to order it. So I took a chance and bought a tub of Eucerin cream. I started putting it on him yesterday afternoon, and again last night after showering. While he's getting ready for school, he told me the cream is helping. I looked and the eczema rash on his side and arm look SO MUCH BETTER. So I slathered a little bit again on it, before school. Eucerin cream was the only thing I hadn't tried. IT'S WORKING.
  14. Lovely soapie! Ok, so what's it smell like?
  15. Christmas Eve from Millcreek. It smells like ribbon candy to me, but better. Sugar Plums (not the spicy one, the fruity one) Egg Nog Gingerbread Oooooh This Old House.... I usually buy this in tarts from another member here, and this is one of my favorites.
  16. Snowdrift Farm has Fleurs D'Oranger Serge Lutens type, which is orange blossom and vanilla together. My favorite Orange Blossom (straight up) is from Sweetcakes. Not sure how it works in wax, though... but for B&B it's great. For the horse farm, how about Green Clover and Aloe? Smells clean and fresh, but not grassy.
  17. www.soapersupplies.com She sells the scented, and the unscented.
  18. Lovely! I adore your bright colors!
  19. Looks great Maryann! I always loved your soapies, so glad you have decided to get back in the groove!
  20. Have you ever tried World's Best Egyptian Musk from Sweetcakes? This would fit your personality you are describing, IMO. I really don't like Egyptian Musk, but I got this on a whim, and I totally fell in love with it. Smells NOTHING like the Egyptian Musk I've smelled from other suppliers. It's deep, earthy, sexy, and smells expensive and high falutin'. Check it out.
  21. I prefer the plate warmers and the bulb warmers. No flame to worry about, especially when I don't feel like burning candles. But I love my big electric warmer (made for the bigger candles), that "hugs" the whole candle jar. I'll put an empty candle jar in that one, and throw a few melts in it, and the smell usually lasts for days or even weeks. I had a bad experience with a tea light one time years ago, and I haven't burned one since. The flame got huge, and I could NOT blow it out for anything, the flame kept getting bigger and bigger the more I would blow. I eventually caught a eureka moment and smothered the flame, but it gave me the biggest scare. So I don't do tea lights anymore.
  22. Wow! Awesome set up you have there! Love your look.
