  1. ooooh I like these kind of posts. It helps me with my candle retail therapy. LOL ETA: Pumpkin Pecan Cornbread sounds AMAZING!
  2. NG has it. While OOB, it doesn't smell exactly, it's a VERY close version.
  3. Lovely soap! I love pumpkin soaps, so creamy and indulgent. Way to go!
  4. Deb, that soap is gorgeous. Very drool-worthy! I love Crackling Birch, I bet it smells wonderful in soap!
  5. Awesome! I don't know which one is my favorite! I love them all!
  6. I have to say, that description of Pumpkin Pie intrigued me also.
  7. OOooooh that's hard. I would choose heavy cream. My skin loves it.
  8. Or, you can mix some with a little oil. Any kind of oil you have on hand. Make a somewhat runny paste (not too thick, but not too thin), stirring it in with a wooden popsicle stick until smooth, and all clumps are gone. You can do this in a little dixie paper cup so there's no mess, just throw away the cup afterwards. Then pour a little of your hot soap into the smooth paste and stir some more. After it's all incorporated, pour your colored portion into your uncolored soap base. I do it this way, because if I just sprinkle the mica in the soap, I get specks and clumps every time. So much easier for me this way.
  9. How adorable! They are all so cute! I like the Halloween one the best! (I'm a Halloween type of girl!) Great job! You took great pics too.
  10. Vanilla Bake Shop Autumn Brulee Yum-Yum Bakery Vanilla Butter Cake
  11. Looks great Amanda! Now that you've been bitten by the soap bug, there's no turning back. Have fun in your soap making adventures!
  12. Looks fantastic Jacqui! I've never tried to make it myself, but I had the pleasure of using a bar of whipped soap in a swap a long time ago. It was one of the best soaps ever! Yours looks so indulgent! I bet it's going to be one fabu bar!
  13. I second the apple recommendation... but I'm an apple lover... so to me, anything goes well with apple! How about something citrusy... like Yuzu? Or even Cranberry Yuzu (AH has this one).
  14. I swear, from opening the 27 bottles I have over and over again to sniff them, I developed a blister on the inside of my thumb. lol! Gawd, I'm pathetic. Placed my second order a bit ago, needed more of that Bonfire Bliss and a few others I liked.
  15. Wow, got my order a day early. How cool is that? Just sniffing OOB, I am in love with Bonfire Bliss. *swoon
  16. Black Tea would be a good blend with just about anything you can imagine. Raspberry Blackberry Bergamot Any kind of Citrus Jasmine Vanilla Honey Peach The most recent tea blend I've tried... a mixture of: Black Tea, Vanilla, Berries, Green Grass, & Honeysuckle Jasmine. Smells like Summer in the South.
  17. I've never smelled MW's version of Witches Brew, but I have used another supplier's Witches Brew mixed with Black Iced Tea with good results.
  18. Sue.... cranberry spice and candy corn sounds lovely! If you want to share your blend, you can post it here if you would like: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92714 Another sandalwood blend you might like is 50/50 coconut and sandalwood. I used DS Coconut Soapsilly version (straight coconut) and CS Antique Sandalwood. I have this blend sitting in the shop marinating and it smells gorgeous. Doesn't smell too summery at all to me, and could surely pass as a different kind of Fall scent.
  19. I like grapeseed and wheatgerm oils. Both are lovely additions to body butters (regular and emulsified), and I notice when I use a combo of these two along with other oils and butters in a recipe, it helps with the greasy feeling.
  20. This one is heavy on the oatmeal. REALLY heavy. To me, it's more of a "foody" OMH, with more "grain" smell. It is OMH on steroids! lol Order it, I think you'll like it. Cajun's has a sweeter OMH (more almondy and sweet), but not sure if it's what the OP has in mind. I've tried alot of OMH's, and I have to say, my favorite is Daystar's OMH-Soapsilly version. It has a sorta "musky" smell to it on the drydown that's lovely!
  21. *swoon! I think you and I have similar tastes! I'm always on the look out for unique and different scents. Just something out of the ordinary that I don't usually buy in candles. This sounds lovely. If you need a candle tester, I'm more than happy to help! lol
  22. Here are my OOB reviews for the ones I just got in: Pumpkin Hollow- great pumpkin smell... But I do smell heavy spice. Not unique at all to me, smells like any regular pumpkin FO. Darbla... does more pumpkin than spice come out more in your candle? You would think with all the people who are looking for straight pumpkin, that eventually a supplier would come out with one! Apple Creek- Smells like regular apple cider, heavy on the spice. Cranberry Woods- smells like cranberry with a slight green note, but I detect no woods OOB. Peach Clove- Whoa. Heavy on the clove, light on the peach. But I really think this would make a wonderful blender... Fig & Olive- Very green and fresh. I smell fig leaves... fresh fig leaves. Velvet Tuberose type- Does not smell like BBW type. I have no clue what it smells like. I smell powder and.... roses? No tuberose scent at all. Total letdown.
  23. Are you sure it's still good and not rancid? I've used that brand before in the past, with no problems. I heart lard. Some people have a more sensitive nose than others, and can smell lard, even in the finished product. Maybe you have a sensitive nose? ETA: Overheating lard makes it smelly to me!
  24. I'm sure any kind can be used, but I used what I had on hand. I used: Candy Corn from NG, Candy Apple NG (regular candy apple, not the winter candy apple), and Cotton Candy and Funnel Cake were both from Brighter Scents. There's alot of talk about the bad service from Brighter Scents, though. I bought mine a while back, and never had any problems, until I ordered one time, and didn't get my oils until months later (and then, it was the wrong oils!). Never ordered from them again. You'll have to find a skin safe Funnel Cake. Brighter Scents was the only one I had found, and it was great for B&B. MMS has a good Cotton Candy too, so check them out.
  25. Candlebuddy is dabomb.com with all those blends! lol I love mixing and blending. It's my favorite thing to do. I really want to try Candlebuddy's Pumpkin + Orange Chiffon Cake. That sounds decadent. Here's a few more from me: Orange Puddin' Pop- 50/50 Vanilla Wafer (AH) and Mandarin Orange (AH) Woodsmoke Vanilla & Honey- 85% Wood Vanilla (DS) 15% Honeybee (SS) (EVERYONE loves this one!) Bewitched- 8 parts Sweet Amber Musk (AH), 5 parts Antique Sandalwood (CS), 1 part Tropical Tuberose (Peaks) Apple Wood- 50/50 Cypresswood (Cajuns) and Winter Candy Apple (NG) (or you can use any Apple Cinnamon instead of the Winter Candy Apple, but I LOVE the winter candy apple version!) Dark Carnival- Equal parts of: Candy Corn, Candy Apple, Cotton Candy, and Funnel Cake (I used this blend last year for the Spooktacular Halloween Swap)
