  1. I've never smelled Pink Pepperberry... but how does a Pomegranate mix sound?
  2. I swear, I had to look twice at the title of this post. I did not see Sweaty ducks on first glance.
  3. Use lots of honey... and leave unscented. Or if you just HAVE to scent it... maybe an OMH fragrance to keep it light and subtle.
  4. I can tell you that the Lemon Lava Cake is awesome. I can't wait to put it in lotion for ME! Cedarwood and Spice BBW Type smells dead on to the original. Secret Wonderland BBW Type smells too much like Twilight Woods to me. I can't tell the difference. Sorry to hijack the thread! Hi Bugtussle! *waves
  5. I can't help you on this one... but I'm dying to find a handmade candle that smells like WoodWicks Applewood scent. The description you added sounds dead on to WW version.
  6. Preservative wise... I either use Liquapar Optima or Liquid Germall Plus. Maybe your new preservative has something to do with it? Hmmm...
  7. What colors are being used in the baby shower? What color is the bear you are dipping? Blues, I would go with something like Blueberry. Greens, I would go with something like Lime or Watermelon. You can always rename the scents... Blueberry= Little Boy Blue Lime=Lullaby Lime Watermelon= ??? Can't think of a catchy name Anyhoo, I personally don't like powder scents or even lavender scents... so that's why I would use off the wall scents you wouldn't normally associate with a baby! lol
  8. Yes. You can break the emulsion by overwhipping. Honestly, you can make a great body butter with the butters you have on hand, it doesn't matter if your butter contains hydrogenated oil or not. Also... check your temps. Your water and your oils/emulsifiers should be right around the same temp when you add them together. And in my experience, cooling too fast can cause havoc too, sometimes. (like sticking it in the freezer or something like that, I learned to stop doing that because it would give me problems... I let it cool down on it's own.) Certain preservatives can break the emulsion too. I could never use Optiphen in my lotions or butters... every time I would add it, it would instantly separate. I rarely use a hand mixer or stand mixer for my emulsions. I prefer to use a stick blender.
  9. With FO, I usually let it sit a few days and marinate. It is important to test it in a little something before committing to the blend, though. Like a perfume oil if you are doing B&B. Mix it with some type of carrier oil, and try it on your skin. That way, you can judge the smell of the first notes that hit you once you put it on, and once it blends with your skin chemistry to smell the dry down/bottom notes. My experience with EO's and resins... the longer you let it sit, the better it gets (if it's a good blend! lol)
  10. Pomegranate & Peaches- I classify it as the ultimate summer scent. It's juicy, sweet, and screams summer to me. Smells great in lotion! Sandalwood Cardamom- It's deep and sensual. Works great alone, or as a blender in other scents. Pistachio Dream Cake- To die for in a body scrub. Maui Wowie- great tropical summery scent. Jambleberry Thumbprint Cookie- another one that makes a great foody type body scrub. Mixed with a tiny bit of coconut, the fruity jam notes pop out more. Cashmere & Pearls- Clean, feminine, and smells like class... if class had a smell.
  11. I have two favorites: Sugar scrub. I like the way it invigorates my skin, leaving it soft, and the way the scent lingers lightly on the skin. Body Butter: I like making indulgent, creamy emulsified butters using lots and lots of pumpkin seed oil. I don't use body butter or lotion everyday, but when I do use it, it makes me feel so pampered!
  12. I went to order Vanilla Pods a few days ago, and it's not there anymore. Not sure if it's OOS or what. I was kinda bummed out. carol k, wasn't it you that used the OMH in some soap in a swap one time? That was THE BEST OMH I ever smelled!
  13. Now y'all got me wondering what the heck this smells like! Contact Stacy from Daystar... she might be able to help you. All her fragrances are unique and one of a kind.... maybe ask her about duping it? Maybe if it's that popular enough, she might want to carry it... ya never know until you ask!
  14. I have never smelled the real thing, but I have the dupe from DS, and it's one of my favorites. I bought it in Spring 2010. I agree it's a light scent out of the bottle, but once you put it in something, it totally rocks, IMO. I had made a lotion in this scent for a swap, and once you put it on your skin, the fragrance notes blossom and open up with your body heat. It's so unique and feminine.
  15. Velvet Tuberose type from Just Scent. It's so pretty and feminine, but not so loud that you knock down the people around you. lol
  16. Scented, what is this exceptionally good straight vanilla that you are talkin' 'bout?
  17. Elements. It's a good balance between both the sandalwood and the vanilla, and it smells mighty strong! The vanilla part smells more sweet to me, but the sandalwood really tones it down, and it smells gorgeous in just about everything.
  18. Tone it down with a bit of patch, maybe. There's your "dirt" essence.
  19. Never tried their version. The only one I've tried was from Snowdrift Farms.
  20. My most favorite citrus smell is definitely Satsuma type. It's so juicy and mouthwatering and it screams OH HAPPY ME!
  21. A couple of drops of Tuberose to brighten it up and make it feminine. If you don't have Tuberose, try Gardenia, but Tuberose rocks.
  22. Scented... start another one! Let's start with.... VANILLA!
  23. Yes, it is. It's a very clean, out of the shower smell to me. Go easy on it in leave on applications though. It tends to be a little overpowering and smells ugh if you use too much. IMO
