  1. Ya know, Aztec has never been one of my ''''''''''''''go to"""""""""" companies so no biggie here.. :-)
  2. Welcome........ya know what ever type of scents catch your '''nose''', you can be assured that someone on the forum can help you to develop a nice candle........and/or direct you into producing some amazing products, i.e, candles, melts..and even B&B products. Hey, hang around with us for a while and we will take your life to a new level........... There are countless scents that we pour for friends and or customers that we really hate.......that is the nature of the business!! But I do feel that I need to address the issue of '''a tablespoon of scent'' As you get into candle making, you will need to measure your scents by weight,.,.,.,.not teaspoons. Now, that said, please tell us what type of FOs you like........fruits, earthy, etc, etc...........and we can help you on your way to pouring candles that you, the candlemaker, can actually enjoy and be proud of :-)
  3. I'm with you on this question
  4. Anything that Barbara suggests should be taken as gospel........I have 4 bars of Barbara's beautiful soaps sitting on my bathroom sink...........if you follow Barbara and her soap making adventures, you cannot go wrong....JIMHO
  5. My advise is to forget about experimenting with TINS(but that's just me).......like how many people really burn tins? ...and why should I expend my energy to figure out how to burn a TIN??????
  6. Yes they do exist. You can do all the testing that you want but at some point, you will have wet spots appear here and there. Ya know, we do not live in an idea world..just pour your candles, test for the desired throw and go from there. If you spend your time focusing on wet spots, you are missing the big picture..........the hot throw.....JMHO
  7. Since wet spots do not effect the throw of the candle, I am not willing to spend time or money to find a way to eliminate them.
  8. Ok, I guess I'll have to wait until the project has been completed to know what the heck we're doing here :-)
  9. I have no friggin idea of what you are going for here...............what is the end product supposed to be........candles, soaps, etc. etc.
  10. Absolutely, as said above, just make sure it is cleaned out from the prev wax
  11. Never heard of it but I am very careful in the additives I use.......like Vybar if used to excess can lock up the scent......if you can't get a good description of exactly what it it, then I'd suggest you don't use it.
  12. Years ago, I bought some wax and molds from a friend......the wax was already scented and being a newbie, I really didn't know what I was doing...so I melted and poured........candles burned ok but looking back, I wouldn't do it again unless I knew exactly what type of wax I was getting. Of course, back then, I didn't know one wax from another so I just chock it up to a learning experience.
  13. It all depends on what type of wax you are usingl............
  14. Well, we'll see if this coming holiday season encourages me to actually get into the season.......I have an enormous amt of Xmas lites in my shed....but do I really want to expend the energy to decorate the outside of the house???????????
  15. OMG............love that aged Patch......the older it gets the thicker it gets. I can't think of any FO that cannot be improved with a touch of Patch. Now I have myself all worked up to make a batch of Patch soap!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Yeah, like when '''smell and sniff'' will be invented....:-)
  17. Patch, amber and musk are scents that I gravitate to.......any of those 3 will impress your Mom.............now that said, I am not a soaper other than CP rebatching. Since I use CP rebatching soap from BB, I have a lot of options on scents and oils for superfatting.......melt down the CP rebatching soap shreads,,,,,,add any thing you want ...oils, scents, etc..........and you end up with one hell of a soap.........lather abounds.......guaranteed to make any Mom proud. The last batch of CP rebatch I made included additions of coconut oil and emu oil......OMG, the lather that is produced was amazing..yeah I did not make this soap from scratch but it is amazing and the lather will impress anyone that uses it.
  18. Not a seller here but do make a Poo spray for the household usage.......I have two men that are heavy meat eaters and the smell coming from the bathroom can be breathtaking,,,,,,,,,,,I take a 2oz spray bottle, add some FO of choice(what I like to smell), add some water and some fragrance emulisfier...I don''t even waste my time and money on cyclo since it is made for in house only........I have trained my guys to spray the scent before they leave the bathroom................or risk being written out of the will.
  19. darn, if I ran across a candle that smelled like dirty socks I think I would move on..........
  20. On another forum, my user ID is '''''''''''''Twisted Wick"""""""""""....seemed appropriate at the time
  21. I absolutely love that phrase..........
  22. I too have candle butts all over the house so every once in a while, I gather them up and make new candles with the leftovers. For pillars, I remelt the butts and layer the different leftover and the same with container candles.....just melt them one by one and pour them either into a pillar mold or container depending on the wax. Now when I burn these salvaged candles, I get some throws that I cannot identify but enjoy the heck out of them. I cannot count the times that I've said to myself ""what the heck is that scent...its amazing) Ramr: next time you blend vanilla with peach, add a itty-bit of patch or musk.....hey, sandlewood would be a nice additive too.....like I'm helping you right...yes I am because as a Craftserver member, I feel it is my job to help you make the most out of your delimma and enjoy your candle making experience to it fullest. (you bought that, right??)
  23. At this point in time, I'd be more concerned in producing a quality candle than focusing on the wet spots.
  24. Wow, this is a hard one.......after many years of pouring candles, my fav's have changed.but I'm still leaning toward earthy scents, blended with various other FOs........ya know, there really isn't a favorite so the question is unfair :-)
  25. and the question at hand 'is ''does the general public'' even notice?
