  1. I am glad that this mother had the courage to admit her mistake, but at the same time help someone else. :awww: I have 2 boys a 5 and 6 year old and I still haven't taken the plunge to work with lye due to the fact that I need to work around my sons, because they can be wild and crazy at times when I'm in the kitchen making candles or M&P. This is a valuable lesson for soapers old and new to learn the proper procedures of handling lye and the safety procedures as well. I'll pray for Konner, his mom, and their whole family as they go through his recovery.
  2. Update: Since the owner of Crabapple Soap never came forward during the 10 days the case was open, paypal decided to settle the dispute in my favor!!!! They are going to refund the whole amount of $111.70!!!! Although, I'm happy I'm upset because of all the others that never received their product or their money. That is why I am hoping that the area police can do something to stop this company from misleading others. As I continue this case with the area police, I'll continue to let you know of the updates. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am furious!!!!!  I bought some items from crabapplesoap.com on Feb. 10th worth over 100 bucks, paid via paypal. Well one week goes by and I get nervous, because I haven't received a response regarding an estimated delivery time, although the site does say it can take 10 days for orders with customized wooden molds. So I took that into consideration, but then 2 weeks go, and then 3. So now I'm fuming!!!!! I decide to email the company, even the paypal addy, and I receive no answer in return. I tried this on 4 occasions. I eventually find a number on the site, and it's changed to new number, which is not in service!!!! My total came close to $112.00, what would you do, or have you done business in the past with this company? The website seems like a valid website, but I was surely decieved. I really feel stupid for not searching to see if this was a reputable company, I have even mentioned this site to others about how nice a cp set they had...I truly apologize...I feel really bad!!!:embarasse *Sorry for the venting, just had to let my frustration out*
  3. I don't even know why I didn't think of that, I should've known it was probably for exfoiliation.
  4. I want to make a MP Coconut Almond Soap Bar. The receipe calls for crushed almonds. For those that are allergic to nuts, do you know of an substitue I could use for the almonds, how about almond oil?? Thanks in advance for any help!!!
  5. Thanks for the link JD, I think these could be an option.
  6. Thanks Dawn, I never thought about googling cake boxes...very good idea...Thx!!!
  7. Well I completely understand, I just received my cp kit the other day, and I am so excited to get started, I just need one key element....the lye. Landa, I agree with you regarding researching, it seems like it never ends, but all worth it in the end. I only hope and wish my soaps looks good as your's, keep up the good work!!!
  8. Landa, I have to agree with everyone else the promegranate (sp?), looks very nice, the swirls look great. If you don't mind me asking but what's holding you back from selling?
  9. If you want to get rid of your pillar wax, let me know I might be interested...I just love making votives..... To all the newbies out there remember the old saying....If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again!!! I know it's a cliche saying but it is so true, you may have more failure's during testing than success and at times it can be frustrating trying to figure out the formula that works the best, but never let that get you down, just keep going at it and the rewards will be great.
  10. Looking for a Box with a clear top that can hold a tart burner and maybe 4 to 6 tarts and 2 tealights. Something similiar to a shoebox that is on it's side but not as big. Or any other suggestions for packaging will be helpful as well.
  11. Nothing much was cooking in my pot, I was ready to try this cp making kit I got, but I needed a little inspiration from the gallery, and since the site was down, my soap didn't get made.:undecided I do have an order of votives that I need to finish to give to a co-worker to test. I never knew how much I missed this board, until it was down... glad it's back up and running!!!
  12. Very nice soaps, I like the old fashion wash basin too, very nice!!!
  13. Thanks, I just discovered the templates, so now my page, won't look so plain. I think I will put up some basic info, until I'm ready to start an actual website. For right now it will be similar to a business or calling card to let others now about my company.
  14. I finally registered http://www.cozy-aromas.com, through yahoo small business for 2.99. I have a problem now, if you click on the link it will say under construction along with some other obnoxious links. Instead of saying under construction, I want it to say something about my up and coming business does anyone have any ideas??? I would kinda want it to be a calling card or an About me page until I fix it up, any ideas will be appreciated.
  15. Very nice, I like the coziness of it as well....now only if I can figure out a logo that would fit my name.
  16. Alot of people pick out names that represent themselves or locations based on the area they are going to have their business. As for me I picked out my company name after names I tried to used were taken. I chose the name "CozyAromas" because I wanted to give my customers a feeling of home or comfort when ever they smell or try my products. You might also want to google your prospective company name to make sure it's not taken just in case you're thinking about venturing online. Hope this helps....you might also want to do a general search in this forum, I am pretty sure this question has come up several times, and I am sure helpful responses were left as well.
  17. Thanks for the insight dragonworks I'll have to check them out.
  18. very nice kaybee, what type of base did you use??
  19. I need some suggestions on decorating an heart shaped pillar, I thought about putting a band around it then adding a label....any suggestions would be appreciated !
  20. Christina, I really like the blueberry pies you made, an improvement from the oreo cookies too.:highfive: I bet it smells great too!!! Keep those pictures coming I want to see the strawberry pie.
  21. I found the Downy, Lavender Vanilla dupe at goplanet.com. I will get a sample from them and from KY and compare the two.
  22. Thanks for responding Gaye, as soon as I posted this thread I did a search through this forum, and ky was mentioned. I think I may have to order a small oz and test try it. I need to really search the forum before I post, because most of my questions have been answered already. Thanks again!!!
  23. I am in search of an vanilla/lavender dupe similar to the downy fresh simply pleasures line. I have a customer that would like some votives with the same scent. Any suggestions??
  24. Robin, it's funny that you posted that article up, because the other day I got so many responses from taking a votive and pillar to work. That I felt unprepared and not ready for this huge step I am about to make. I realized that there was alot of stuff I need to get together in order for this to go smoothly. I was impressed but didn't think I was going to get such a positive reaction to something I made, even though I seriously hoped it would be this way. I totally agree with Trish when she said that you will only be big or successful as you allow it to be ...I think we all have a common goal to succeed it just how successfull or big do we really want to be, and that's what I'm trying to consider know. This is a very good thread, I'm curious to see what others have to say or write...
