  1. I was wondering of anyone knew the common sizes for a collection of pillars, more specifically the round pillars, I think Michael's call their's Candlescapes. Basically, it's a plate with a collecton of pillars with the same diameter but with different heights.
  2. Thanks for putting up the link Tab, that is a nice looking mold, may have to take a trip to my local Target to see if they have any of those around here.
  3. Can someone enlighten me as to what this mold look like, because I am clueless??:undecided
  4. Thanks candle man, I think those look great, and I think they would be perfect both boys and girls... I like your idea too for the conversational hearts, Scented...now only if I can remember where...
  5. I am trying to think of alternative gifts to give to my son's classmates in addition to valentine cards and candy. I was thinking of the valentine ducks embedded in an m&p base, and that was all I could think of...does anyone else have any more ideas to share? I would do this for both my 5 and 6 year old sons class. I have to make sure these gifts would be suitable for both boys and girls. Any suggestions are appreciated!!!
  6. Sorry to hear about your spill, I hope you're okay. I think your gift is ver nice, I am sure your ex-boss will enjoy it too!!!
  7. I couldn't agree with you more, candlemaking is not a get rich quick type of hobby, it involves, alot of testing and research. I like making candles and soaps because it helps me to relax. At times I may feel overwhelmed because a certain wick didn't work out like I wanted it to, but that in it self pushes me to try and get it right the next time. I came to this forum because I am inspired by the different work of those on here and I learn alot from newbies as myself and from those that have done it for awhile. What amazes me though is that although we all make pillars, votives, tealights and what have you, our products are uniquely(sp) individual!!
  8. Christina, hurt your feelings??? How can I when you present us with nice pics!!! The candles look nice, I am partial to the pillars but everything looks wonderful, keep up the good work!!!! Let us know how the testing turned out.santa big
  9. Just Wonderful!!!! I have to agree with everyone, the scrub reminds me of my favorited DQ Blizzard "Cookies n Cream." Fantastic presentation on everything, keep up the good work.
  10. Wow, just fab-u-lous:D !!!! Do you have any special plans for this batch of soap, if not you can always let me try them out!!!!!
  11. Looks splended SatinDucky, I would like to see what the Lemongrass looks like when cut...So takes some pics. I too can't wait to jump on the CP bandwagon after Christmas....the lye is make me nervous:shocked2:...but I'm sure i'll eventually get over it!!
  12. Nice ideas candle man, those pics really got me thinking. I really liked the first picture in your first post. I believe it was a picture of a group of heart shaped pillars. Great Ideas!!!!
  13. Well for me, I know I am doing a basket, what I'm adding I don't know as of yet. I saw a tripple heart mold that I think will look nice if I can figure out out how to wick the darn thing. For my sons since they normally have to pass out valentine cards to their classmates I thought about doing the valentine rubber duckies in a soap mold to pass out to each classmate. I also like the conversational heart molds I've saw, I thought that would be cute too. Just a thought!!!
  14. Well I'm another Pam, and I too would like to welcome you to this wonderful forum!!!:highfive:
  15. Call me boring, but I think I am one of the rare few that loves making votives. I don't know if it's because they were my first products to make or what, but I just have a grand time pouring and popping them out of the molds. Go figure!!!!
  16. Gerrie: I think everything looks nice, despite you not having the room you wanted it turned out well!! I just love your mini picnic table, very cute indeed!!!!:highfive: Pam
  17. I haven't done a craft show yet, but I'm hoping to do one in maybe a year or so, but I've noticed you had a folger's bag near the tins, was that to help your customers clear the smell of one candle in order to smell the next? Secondly, I noticed you have your business cards, but what is the other sign that you have up? Sorry I'm being so nosey, but I'm just curious what are some things a person should put up at their booth regarding their products for others to view? Thanks Pam P.S. While asking all of these questions, I forgot to mention that your display and products look very nice...I love the variety of colors...just marvelous!!!!
  18. Considering I have started making candles and soaps for almost a year my goals I've set for myself are pretty basic for some yet a task for myself. Here's my top 10 list, of things I hope to accomplish for 2006...business goals only!!! Test, Test, Test waxes, wicks, and fo's for votives, containers, pillars, and tarts, and keep an accurate record of these test. (This is a never ending goal) Make my first batch of soap using the CP method. Get business name established locally. Get logo designed. Create a website, that will showcase my work. Market myself more to neighbors, friends, and co-workers. Maintain a budget and try to stick with it. (This will be the hardest to do, I'm addicted to molds and fragrances) Become more organized!!! Visit bazaars, craft shows, and fairs to scope out competition and to get a better feel what the public likes and dislikes. (observation purposes only, not ready to start selling at this type of venue yet, maybe in 2007). Finally, become a more active member of this forum and others by participating more in swaps, meeting new ones, and attending a candlemaker's convention.Sorry I listed so many things, just felt like I needed alot of things to accomplish for myself in 2006.
  19. Robin, as always I think your products supercede (?) any products I've seen in the store, and I'm glad everything was a huge success for you. I really like how you categorize every scent into each one of your products. For example, you have the lavender pillars, with the lavender soaps, along with the lavender soap bombs. santa big Good Job!!!:highfive:
  20. Gerrie: I think your table still looks nice, maybe at your home show you'll be able to sell the bath melts and body sprays that didn't sell at your show on Saturday.
  21. I think you have a very nice website. I love the swirls in your soaps, my favorites were Spruce Woods and Bay Rum Swirl. I love your logo with the two, B's entertwined!!! I hope you experience much success now that you have your website set up.
  22. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your bear kit?? Pam
  23. Wow, 100 pillars!!! Cyber, you sure have your hands full!!! Now will all 100 pillars consist of the 2 sets of colors, the browns, and the red/green mix, or will more colors be add to what you already have? Overall, I think everything looks nice, keep up the good work!!! :highfive:
  24. I love your sweatshirt...it's a great way to promote yourself & your products. Although, the angel is not your original design, I think it looks very nice!!!santa wink
  25. I'm not an expert on bath bombs, or anything. But I just made some this past weekend and I say if you want your bombs to be darker use more ultramarine, but u don't have to take my word for it...as I'm still new to this too!! When I colored my bath bombs I used an FDA approved food coloring in a blue powdery form. I only put a little in at first but I didn't get the color I wanted, so I added a little more than I was able to get the blue hue that I desired. I hope this helps santa chee !!!
