  1. I too have been working on duping my custom base (w/ some tweaking), so far with success, thank goodness lol. I hope everything is looking up for her, she's a sweet person.
  2. Another one that is really good is dreamstime.com. It's very similar to istockphoto.
  3. I have an Old Will Knots one too, the 15 lb one. It's great for weighing out the wax and FOs, bases, plus for shipping. But unfortunately the grams are in 1 gram increments, and I'm looking for one that's 0.5 or 0.1 increments for testing BB formulations~~~so I'll be watching this thread for ideas too:)
  4. RE's Lavender Apples and Oak. Haven't put it in wax yet, but made up a jar of cream for DH~~it's a very nice earthy, crisp, and fresh fragrance.
  5. My mom used to use the parrafin for Cherry jelly. We had one lone little cherry tree in the yard--but it made the best jelly (and occasional pie)!
  6. I use a digital one--got it at Walmart for around 7 or 8 bucks. It came with an extra battery, too.
  7. This morning was 'tester container cleaning'--my gosh I think they multiplied while I wasn't looking!?! This afternoon I poured a few RE testers: Raspberry Lilac, Strawberry Musk, Dreamcatcher, Cherry Mist, Roobios, and Tapestry. Still have a few more to pour~~later this week~~I'm exhausted lol!
  8. Aha! I kept trying to search 'lab' and 'laboratory' testing and was coming up with nada lol! Sagescript sounds like the deal to me:) Thank you!!
  9. You could also check out shrinkwrapstore.com.
  10. Since necessity is the mother of invention---- I'm going to start testing my own formulation of body cream (i.e. making my own rather than using a base). I'm ordering supplies, and have downloaded some basic recipes to give me a starting point. Looking forward, what concerns me is the lab testing once I've reached success. Not much info is available here through the search. Locally, the only lab we have is Labcorp--has anyone used this facility? Any info or advice would be appreciated! Please feel free to PM or e'mail me~~~thanks!
  11. A cove off the Neuse River is literally right in our back yard (well, side yard anyways). "Neuse River Candle and Bath" just seemed the natural way to go.
  12. OMGoodness that's alot of inventory (and hard work put into it)! Ebay was the first thing that came to mind. It's probably the easiest, but you'll most likely have to sell either at cost, or below. But it's a good way to draw folks' attention to your product.
  13. Candlescience spoiled me on the 16 oz amber glass bottles, so I ordered some to transfer the other oils into. I weighed the bottles w/caps on, and subtracted the weight of the bottle.
  14. Business success for now would be to break even! Last night I was on the computer (shock!!!), and my husband brought over an empty container of cream, and said "I need some more, and make some more of that soap too!" A small thing, but that was the really good kind of success to me;)
  15. Well, through deletions and additions, I've got 13 brand spanking new scents to order tomorrow lol. Thanks everyone!
  16. I plan on testing FOs pretty hot and heavy to expand my fragrance line. Will add a lotion choice to match my cream, and have an idea formulating for a second type of cream and lotion. I'd love to add either a sugar or salt scrub, but that won't be till later in the year. Candle wise I'm going to start looking for a good wax to play with for melts.
  17. ~~grama~~ Which other ones have you tried (and liked)? Not ordering until tomorrow, so the list will most likely change a bit:)
  18. Had to search for another Red Tea since KY is OOS, and will be for awhile:(( I found one at RE--of course it turned into a list lol, so please let me know your honest opinions about the scents I've picked out so far (fragrance, throw, etc. in candles & BB) or other scents you'd recommend. Red Tea Vanilla Bean Red Current and Thyme Celtic Moonspice Dragon's Blood Dreamcatcher English Ivy Essence of Bethlehem/Jesus Amazing Grace Imagine: Love Monkey Farts Island Cocktail Lavender Mist Thanks!
  19. Recently tested these in 6006 from KY~~~~ Red Tea--I love it. A fresh strong tea. I think the description says something about currants, but I smell grapefruit--smells awesome. Southern Vanilla--Another strong thrower. I say vanilla milkshake, husband says cake lol. Midnight Pomegranate--Strong throw once again--smells exactly like BBW's. Will definitely buy the Red Tea and Midnight Pomegranate--still want to try CS's Very Vanilla before I make a decision on KY's.
  20. I caught the last 15 minutes (I was rooting for ya!). To be sure they presented the family with them behind the scenes. You know those youngens would get a kick out of those crayon soaps!
  21. I use Peak's--great hot and cold throw, and it smells awesome:)
  22. Here's one everyone's probably heard at one point or another-- "I can get it cheaper at Walmart" AARRRRGGGHGHH A coworker lovingly told me that she bought a Clean Cotton on sale there for $1.50. Like I care.
  23. Business?? What business?!? Guess it's time to start planning for wholesale and craft shows lol!
  24. Yeh, but that's still dirt cheap. I wouldn't mind trying out a few of her scents, but I need another FO supplier like I need a hole in the head lol!
  25. That does it--the marmalade is definitely on the list for my next order (isn't it about time for another 99 cent sale-heeheehee)
