  1. Glad you mentioned on another thread to look under the label bugtussle--the lot sticker for my new case was actually under some packing tape. Bought from CS--the lot # was also 700251. I'll go ahead and start testing tonight even though it's been determined to be good (whew!!). Not only is the busy season around the corner, it's my 'first' season lol! Does IGI not test their candle waxes out before making them available for purchase? This has been a good learning experience--I will definitely always test out a new case every time I order one!
  2. I use Printshop 22. I don't use any kind of graphics other than my logo--then I type the other info in and put a border around everything. It took me forever because I'm pretty much software illiterate and had to learn as I went, through trial and error:)
  3. Sam's stretchable wrap from Walmart works really well. You can also shrink wrap it if you want to go that route:)
  4. WTHeck is so ugly about them? To me, they're not country, prim, trendy, etc--they're just natural. They'd go w/ any decor in my opinion. To note, the soaps on the website are gorgeous. What's Kenia's opinion? It looks like there's been a lot of hard work that's gone into making them.
  5. Normally don't post on the renaming threads cuz I'm no good at it lol! But here goes-- October Harvest Sweet November
  6. Being a sole proprietor, is there a need for an EIN? I don't plan on having any employees--basically the SBA told me I could get one and said "Hey, it's free". But I haven't applied for one. Just wondering if I should go ahead and get one, and also, what is the purpose of it?
  7. You can also check out labelsbythesheet.com. Quick shipping and great customer service!
  8. The 65 pounder is OOS--at $800.00 a pop, I'm dreaming lol! For now, a turkey fryer in the near future is more my speed;)
  9. Thank you for your responses! It sounds like Propay is a pretty good deal, and simple enough--especially for starting out. I actually like the idea of manually entering the info myself--being the control freak that I am lol! Also, I'm sure the more bells and whistles you get (i.e., automatic verification, etc), the more the monthly fee would be. I don't need all that for now. Again--thanks for the advice!
  10. Agree with the olive oil! A few weeks ago I tried adding 1 T per pound of rosemary infused OO to my MP base--made my bars harder, and that amount didn't affect the lather one way or another--it's great:)
  11. I'm just now starting to sell locally to co-workers/family, etc, and have a mini catalog for mail order being made up as we speak. From the consumer end, I know I like using my cc for purchases, so it seems natural to offer that to customers. After researching this board, plus some on the internet, I'm overwhelmed w/ the number of merchant accts! Propay seems the easiest for me as far as just starting out, but the first of the year I'll be looking into a website--and hopefully have one up by spring (this is the plan, anyway lol!). From what I've read about them, it doesn't sound like they would integrate into a shopping cart?? I know zero about websites/shopping carts, etc--can anyone give me some advice on a merchant acct that is reasonable for upstart, but would also integrate nicely for a website? Thanks
  12. I put my labels on the dust cover also:)
  13. I make container candles but..... I didn't have a problem at all testing Pink Sugar (Peak's). As a matter of fact, it worked with my 'usual' size wicks.
  14. I've tested Nature's Garden, Candlescience, and Peak's in 6006 at 8%. Peak's won out with me--it's the richest and best smelling of the bunch.
  15. Aren't they great? I've been thinking about buying a second one for backup:)
  16. Recommend 6006 here, too. Superior hot and cold throw, and takes color very well.
  17. More recommendations for folks who haven't tried CS yet (and they've probably been mentioned before lol): Violet Lime--very strong--don't use too much oil--wonderful unique scent--you won't be dissappointed Rainwater--very strong, clean perfumey scent--not musky or heavy Mimosa and Mandarin--strong--smells like pineapple/orange with a subtle floral background Mistletoe--strong--Christmas Tree!! But not overpowerfully pine-y Hansel and Gretel's House--I mix this with a small percentage of Pumpkin Bread for a deep, spicy base--strong and not too sweet smelling Apple Jack and Peel--oranges and apples with a clove/spicey base--very strong--don't use too much oil or all you will smell is clove--need to wick up! Lovespell--I never smelled the actual perfume till I was at the grocery store and the cashier was wearing the real stuff (yes, I asked her lol)--dead on! There's more, but hopefully this will help folks who may be on the fence about trying out CS!
  18. Evesorto-- You will love the Mistletoe--it smells like pure Christmas to me;)
  19. Again, the Honeysuckle Jasmine is very strong. In 6006 at 8% (in a single wicked 8 oz container), it scents up my living room/country kitchen areas. This is not a 'sweet' floral--it's the greener type.
  20. So glad they're having another sale--they've got so many new fragrances I've been wanting to try! I'm really curious to see what the Asian Amber and Brandied Pear smell like:)
  21. Hhmmmm. I hate to sound cynical, but I think the only people it's making 'happy' are the people making money from it.
  22. The Mimosa and Mandarin is a 'one' rating but has a very strong throw in my 6006 at 8% (keeping in mind, however, that the 6006 is allegedly only 20% soy).
  23. The same here also. You could always go ahead and give your parasoy a try in your wickless and compare? In the end, however, it all comes down to personal preference---if it ain't broke, don't fix it;)
