  1. There was some candle scent in my childhood memory (I'm only just past 30) that smelled ALOT like Cranberry Marmalade and everytime I smell it, I remember my linen closet in my house growing up and dinners around the table with the candle lit. There is something about this one that is very nostalgic, and not just with me- others have noticed it too. And Cranberry Marmalade, Blackberry Marmalade and Pumpkin Souffle all change and mellow in wax, so their OOBs are totally different. -Kristi
  2. And I use a high temperature silicone caulk. Works great, cures fairly quickly, comes in a tube, seals the wick off at the bottom so it can't suck up the wax from underneath (fire hazard), and is at ANY hardware store with no shipping. -Kristi
  3. I think you'll like the 464- it's the softest, lowest mp soy/veg wax out there. It's also easy to burn- lower wicking for bigger containers. That makes a huge difference in cold houses in the wintertime. I'm agreeing that the squishy soft wax sounds like a parasoy blend. 464 does harden, and you could dig around in it easily if you wanted to- but I wouldn't call it squishy soft either. Just be warned that you'll need to use several sizes smaller wicking than with C3!!! -Kristi
  4. I pour hotter than that and I use liquid dyes. I do get some frosting in cold weather with reds and blacks, but I'm fine other than that. -Kristi
  5. I have used Jack Frost and Tinsel. I really liked the Jack Frost- pretty strong and a good vanilla peppermint. I did NOT like Tinsel... just a strange fruity mint that didn't go over well with my household. It wasn't as weird as Island Christmas though! -Kristi
  6. It's a great dupe! Very strong and Yankee's version is my fav all time fragrance, so it really is as good! -Kristi
  7. I have wicked them both ways (double and single)... I still prefer single wicking in general, but go back and forth on this size depending on my mood :rolleyes2 . But I use 464 with a lower mp and CDs, so it works out. Do buy seamless. Save yourself a mess. I buy mine from Aztec- they have great prices, but there is a handling fee. -Kristi
  8. Ack- you tossed the sage and pomegranate? I like that one! I really like herbals and fruits and that one works for me. Very clean and spa, not super fruity like a normal pomegranate... the sage is strong. -Kristi
  9. They are the SWEETEST on the phone too and are more than willing to search out the answers to the most obscure questions- one I asked them at one point was "why does my case of soy wax have a use by date?"... they did the leg work and learned that it's because it's manufactured at a food plant and is a requirement via health dept... -Kristi psst- did anyone get Tuscan Melon and Apricot. Oh. My. Goodness. I have a new fav.
  10. I have used Nature's Garden's on this one and it was good. You have to wick up though! -Kristi
  11. Perfect for me too. And TCS has a few of my "must haves"... I'm hoping they're reading.... I've been *so* patient! -Kristi
  12. when will the TCS sale be?!?! Did I miss it? Looking back through last year's records, they had their $1 sample sale in January. Did I miss the boat or are supplier's sales fewer and further between? (please tell me I didn't miss this one)... -Kristi
  13. Just a guess with LSZ, but I'm gonna guess low smoke zinc... -Kristi
  14. Blackberry marmalade was one that really changed as it cured. The scent deepened and became more complex. Pumpkin Souffle does the same thing- it's like one note is overpowering when poured and for a couple of days, and then it falls to the background and the other notes are stronger. Weird, but true! -Kristi
  15. I sold out of Candlescience's and had to order more. It's not too strong and very complex and elegant. -Kristi
  16. Just a note- most of the time, Candlescience only has stuff out of stock for a few hours at most- once they refill more 1 oz containers, it's back in stock again. If you want something that's out of stock, call them to add it to your order! -Kristi
  17. What about NG's Coco Cabana? It's a creamy coconut, almost suntan lotion smell. -Kristi
  18. GB 464 and CD 22's are as close as I've gotten to single wicking a large Apothecary. There is NO WAY it would work with C-3... the melt point is way higher than with 464. You will get streaks of sooting in the wax with HTPs and that wax in a large container too... adds a funny burned smell. -Kristi
  19. Agreeing with CS lavendar vanilla. The vanilla really smooths out the lavendar and makes it really soothing. -Kristi
  20. I have had Cranberry Marmalade rice on me in CP... but Lavendar Vanilla is awesome. I was able to save the cran marm one, the texture was just off. The scent stuck well though. Lavendar Vanilla sticks with no morphing at all. It's my 2 yo's baby soap... -Kristi
  21. CS's Peppermint Eucalyptus is very menthol-y... -Kristi
  22. *My* description I made for TCS's includes Beadboard siding and Grandpa's pipe, as there is cedar/pine and tobacco in it along with the apples and spice. I put it with the wood/outdoor, and never considered putting it with bakery! -Kristi
  23. BCN's Verbena Berry or TCS's Peach Magnolia Raspberry! -Kristi
  24. Friday evenings or Saturdays here too. Midweek has never worked well for me. Most like the "open house" style with a window of time to come by on a Saturday afternoon. -Kristi
