I don't do patchouli, so I don't know about that one. I do have a harder time with pine type scents (bay rum, mistletoe), but was able to do Mulberry without a problem. I just don't offer those in this size. In fact, I don't routinely make this size in advance, and sell many more 4 oz and 8 oz candles. If someone orders one out of the scents I've tested in it, that's great. Otherwise I do a 20 oz tureen that I DO double wick (duh, they're huge lol). I know that I would NOT get as good a burn with c-3 or 415. They have higher MPs and this JUST works with 464. I fought with c-3 forever thinking I was a failure and then I switched to 464... whew... -Kristi

And once again, it really depends on the mp of the wax. I CAN get a successful burn with 464 and cd's single wicked with dye and fo. I mixed Pumpkin Souffle with French Vanilla Coffee last year and made Pumpkin Spice Latte (ala starbucks). It smelled really good! -Kristi

She was definitely talking single wicking the CDN 20-22! Watch the depth of your containers though- anything deeper than a 16 oz Apoth will get very sooty and hot with glass glow by the time you get halfway down. Those deep containers make terrible candles- that's why Yankee's get so sooty. (just try getting in there to wick trim!!!). -Kristi

Last year I used Spicy Apples and Peaches, This Old House, and Amish Harvest at Christmastime from TCS. Of those, Spicy Apples and Peaches sold best, then Amish Harvest. Some liked TOH, others were just not into it. My other 3 that people really liked were CS's Mistletoe, Cranberry Marmalade, and Pumpkin Souffle. -Kristi

BRRRR!!!! I do my testing at 72-75 degrees, but in the summer *my* house is 78 on the main floor and 83 upstairs, and in the winter it's 68-70. With sweaters and layers of clothes! I finally made myself stop testing in the summer and winter here. Fall and spring it is! -Kristi

That's normal. 464 has grainy tops with lots of FOs after burning. Interestingly enough, there is no graininess after pouring, just after burning. -Kristi

See, for me, C3 cracked terribly and when fixing the cracks without a repour it frosted horribly. And I've never had a crack or wet spot with 464! Go figure! -Kristi

Me too. This is the only one of their oils that I really didn't care for at all. My mom liked it though. I prefer more fruit and spice in a wassail. -Kristi

Do yourself a favor and test a little 464 too. C3 is somewhere between 415 and 464 in ease of use. -Kristi

I haven't used C3 and HTPs in almost 2 years now, but if I'm remembering right I ALWAYS ended up double wicking with a container that size. I just got a better melt pool and less hangup. -Kristi

415 has a much higher melt point than 464- take my suggestions and bring them up a BUNCH! For example, if I use a cd 5 in a 4 oz and you use a cd 10 in a 4 oz, try using a cd 20 in an 8 oz (where I would use a 10). They are NOT the same animals!!! -Kristi

Lots of times, CS isn't really really out when the website says it is. Did they have it in any other sizes? I'd call them and ask if it can be added to your order if they just don't have any poured ATM, vs not having any at all. Trust me- usually you wait 2 hours and it's back on the site! -Kristi ETA- I just checked the site, and sure enough, fully stocked again. Sounds good! With my 4 oz tins I was able to go down to a cd 5... and 8 would have been too hot too fast. The pine and really heavy scents I used a 12 in an 8 oz, but almost everything else was fine with a 10. Those tins really clean the sides toward the bottom!!! -Kristi

Heavy scents will tunnel, but most will have a hangup and then catch up at the bottom. -Kristi

I really like CDs still for these too. Start with a 10 for most fragrances. -Kristi

I switched these last year, and everyone who liked PCC loved PS, and some who didn't like PCC also like PS... in fact, I had to reorder more pumpkin souffle and I wouldn't have needed to order more pumpkin crunch cake. -Kristi

Just test small samples of everything NG- some of theirs are really good, but most I've tried have a very fake smell to them. And I've tried ALOT... something is just slightly off with many of their scents. -Kristi
