  1. I pour my left over wax in tart molds.
  2. Don't know how much wax your jar holds but the 9 oz salsa jar holds about 7 oz. They look the same to me.
  3. Found it on Fragrance Buddy so decided to try him. He was cheaper and also his shipping. Thanks Chris, if his doesn't compare will probably try Candlewic even though it is more.
  4. This is the description from AH - does it sound similar? The ambiance of a well-kept house, with crisp linens, manicured gardens and sunlight on a gleaming parquet floor. Green notes with early spring blooms." English Ivy
  5. I am trying to find the English Ivy that Aroma Haven/Rustic Essentials used to sale. On fragrance oil finder found several but thought some of you may know. Tried Natures Garden and didn't even like it at all, no where close. I have a customer and it is one of her favorites. Thanks
  6. I don't know how others trim their wood wicks but I have found the big toe nail clippers work great! I include one with every wood wick candle order.
  7. Thanks OldGlory! I think I will when I get a chance. My biggest problem would be getting it straight.
  8. I have found with most of my wood wicks I trim them just a tad and they do better. Would love to know how you got the wood wick in! I have a customer that buys only pillars and she was asking if I could put a wood wick in one.
  9. I have also tried to figure out how to, a customer asked me about a wood wick pillar. The only way I could think was to also make the bottom the top but then don't know how pretty that would look!
  10. I stir with stir sticks which I bought when I first started making candles. Use the same one over & over and just wipe off with a paper towel. I also don't stir but for maybe 30 seconds or so.
  11. This is their description of the scent if that helps - The scent of a geisha is crafted from japanese cherry blossoms, green tea, and sugi (japanese cypress), and then softened with rice milk to create an aroma that will leave you wanting more.
  12. I can use flatbraid 27 in most of my pillars - the 3" diameter and also in my square pillars.
  13. I use 4625 and the hot throw is fine. Years ago when I was having what I called snow flaking I search and the old Cierra site said to add 3 TBS stearic & 1 tsp vybar 103 per lb. That took care of the flaking and I have done it ever since and candles turn out perfect. I sell more pillars & votives on line than I do containers and have several repeat customers that order them. I heat to about 180-185, add 1 oz per lb and then pour.
  14. I won't show you my work rooms but I have a sink also and a stove top and a separate room that I store more oils, containers, molds and bunch of stuff I no longer use! My turkey fryer and 3 presto pots stay in my work room and I also have an electric griddle I keep pour pots on warming
  15. OK - check out this link http://www.turkey-fryers.com/MB_20010406_turkey_fryer_kits.htm This is the Cajun Injector - Probably as close as you'll find. Price is not to bad if you really want one! $109.00. I see where this was mentioned earlier but from looking this is as close as you will get to the original Masterbuilt. 28 quart electric turkey fryerDigital controlsPerforated frying basketLift hook
  16. With the old style you have to add melted wax to cover the heating elements the first time you use it or that is what I read in the past. If you didn't then your wax would scorch. I melt wax in my large pour pot to cover the heating element then I can add my solid wax. Edited to add I have 3 prestos with the pour spout that I mix my wax and dye, fragrance in though.
  17. Candybee I got mine years ago and don't remember where I got it but it looks just like the one pictured by justajesuschick.
  18. I like the freezing cold rag to keep mold super cold. Especially when you are doing layers and your mold is not freezer cold.
  19. I love mine and I put about 27 lbs of wax in it. Mine has the pour spout and I would be lost without it!
  20. I was going to suggest freezing the mold like Danni5173 said. When I first started trying to make rustics I read somewhere they said to freeze the mold and it really helps with the rustic look. I use 4625 and get a good rustic with that.
  21. The wax left over from pouring containers, pillars, or votives get poured into my tart cups then when I do my re pour I just melt them down in my small pour pot. Any left over are usually used for freebies in my orders or I use them myself. I find that easier and also frees up my pour pots.
  22. This is the link to the new Starrville - http://www.shop.tylerstarrville.com/ It says their site is a work in progress. Sounds like they have reopened under a different owner to me. I also got an email from Mike's. Thought it was because I had ordered from the old Starrville.
  23. I have been getting my pillar wax - 4625 from them, my wicks and also salsa jars. Just wish they would get 4786 wax. I order today and get it tomorrow. Their shipping is very reasonable. Used some of their oils and really like them. Really like the Apple Ginger Crust also! Several more but can't think of them just now. The only problem is if you are from GA you have to pay sales tax.
  24. I make samples in the small souffle cups, put initial of scent on lid and on cup. They usually do 8 scents and I put 1 scent each in zip lock bag. They buy the sample bags and are happy to because it really helps them with sale when people can actually smell the scent.
