  1. If you use a preblend, you probally wouldnt want to add any more to it.
  2. Check them out, they have alot to choose from. I order from them alot, they are really nice family run business. http://www.candlescience.com/containers/jelly-hex-jars.php
  3. I dont think i would buy a candle from someone if I had to sign something like that. You would have to have them sign it. I would be very scared off, thinking the product may be dangerous.
  4. I usually use 1 oz to 1 lb wax with great results. Votives have a small melt pool, so if your wax can hold it may want to up it a little. Some will hold 1 1/2 ozs of FO. Good luck, you could also have candle nose:)
  5. Maybe its the weather change. Has it gotten cold were you live?
  6. I use chip clips to hold my wicks while my candles cool. They work so well, I can pull the wick tight and clamp the clip on the wick. It sits well on the jar also. I have bought those wick holders you are describing, but I couldnt get my wick tight. If you want some tho, you can get them at Candlescience.com.
  7. Have they ever heard that fire and plastic/paper doesnt mix? Hopefully they have a fire extinguisher handy lol:shocked2:
  8. I usually use a votive blended wax for my tarts. I really dont think they would last for 40 hours, thats a long time. Mine usually keep there smell for a while. Tarts are pretty small, so you could probally get maybe 10 to 12 hours out of one. Also depends on how much FO you use. You burn them in a tart burner, with a unscented tealight. Good luck, they are the easiest thing you can make. I love making them.
  9. I use it, and I like it. Its a nice one pour, that is completely smooth on top. I have had trouble wicking it tho. Think I am figuring it out tho. So far the zinc wick works the best I have found in it. It does throw very well.
  10. Thats great they figured it out for you. I order from them too, they are great. I live 10 minutes away from them, so I always get to pick up my orders.
  11. Most tealights will go out with no wax left over. That does look suspicious.
  12. When we used hard wax, I took a screwdriver and a mallet hammer to it lol. Good for working out your frustrations:cheesy2: The ones they sell in camping section are perfect.
  13. What temp are you adding your FO at? I found that you get best results when you add your FO when your wax is at 180 degrees. It binds with wax better. Also some FO, espiecally vanilla ones need to be stirred for a good couple minutes. Are you letting them cure for a few days? Also sometimes we get candlenose, and cant smell it. Let someone else smell it and see what they think. Good luck.
  14. I dont know anything about that wax, but maybe its cooling to fast. I have had small containers that will get cracks or air bubbles from cooling to fast. Good luck. May want to post on soy board to if thats a soy wax.
  15. That sounds like a handy item. I bet you could make your own. Just trace around your container and then measure it out to the middle. Hmm think I might have to make one of those.
  16. Pillars are one of the harder candles to start out with. I think Containers are one of the easier ones to master. The main thing is figuring out your wick sizes. Some FOs with cause you to have to wick up. It does take some time to figure it all out. The testing is so important because that you are selling a product that could potentially cause a fire if theres something wrong with it. Good luck with it all, I always had a hard time leveling the pillars. What kind of FO are you using?
  17. I heat mine up enough in oven that I can scoop it out. When you have most of it out. Turn the jar upside down on a cookie sheet lined with paper towels in the oven. That will get most out, and then just wipe clean with paper towels.
  18. I like the seamless for not having to trim off the seam then.
  19. Made my first candle since I was pregnant. Natalia is now almost 7 months old lol. Just have no time to do fun stuff. Luckily she goes to bed early, so I made a container candle scented Pumpkin Pie after she went to bed.
  20. I am not familiar with that wax, but does it need the vybar? Sometimes you can lock up your scent with to much additives. I would let it cure a couple days. You may just have candlenose too:smiley2:
  21. Ewwww...hehe wow I dont know why someone would want that lol.
  22. I use a votive wax for my tarts. Make sure you buy good FO, dont use that stuff they sell at craft stores. Peaks has really great products. They also sell kits which are great as they have everything you need. Tarts are a great candle to start with.
  23. I know they sell tealight wicks. THey may work good. I would think a wick for a votive would be to big. Guess you will have to experiment and let us know:)
  24. I would start with votives, so you can get use to wicking and all. Then go up to small containers. Dont go for the large ones to start as the wicking will drive ya nuts.
  25. Skip it, they are not good. I bought some strawberry once, didnt smell anything like strawberry. It was a smell that could make ya sick....
