  1. My candle turned out really good, nice smooth top. Now to just wait a day or two to test the wick out and throw.
  2. I think I used it for my first container I made. I had no clue about candlemaking then, was using the Yaley stuff. That candle had a funky smell, like cough syrup. So I never really burned it much. You can always give it a try, cant hurt to much:). I would think it would maybe just need a bigger wick and might seperate a little from the jar.
  3. I cant wait to see how this candle turns out. I just made a 8 oz tin in Blueberry Cobbler. I got so tired of the hard wicking/sooting with the 4630. I decided to give the 6006 a try. So far so good. How long does this wax usually need to cure?
  4. Are u having wet spots maybe? If you are using a container wax, they should stick to your jar but alot of wax's will get wet spots. THey are pretty much unavoidable, some wax does it worse then others. Maybe post a pic of your problem would help:)
  5. I would get her a kit from Peaks. I think they run around $50. Probally the container one would be easy for her, they have the tins in their container kits. I am not sure if they come with a pour pot. I just use a large pot to use as my double boiler. Good luck.
  6. Hmm..thats a good question. I did a search on yahoo on electric warmers. None of the websites selling them said what kind of container to use. I dont have any to check and read. I am gonna check it out tomorrow when I go by Michaels.
  7. Mostly the higher temps is to get your FO to bind with the wax. You wouldnt want to add your FO at a low heat, it wouldnt blend well.
  8. I got my order just a little bit ago. I love them all! I only ordered 10, but they are all wonderful. A few of my favs are Banana Walnut Cake, Birthday Cake, and Fruit Slices.
  9. Just got my order from AH, I ordered Banana Walnut cake. Boy does that smell good, I havent poured it but it smelled very good OOB. Their Birthday Cake smelt great OOB too.
  10. Always good to let them cure at least 24 hours after you make them also. Are you burning your votive in a tight votive jar?
  11. I just pour little leftover wax in a plastic cup, and wipe out the pour pot well with papertowels. You want to do this when its hot of course:)
  12. Welcome to the board. I have never used soy, so cant help ya there. But make sure you are mixing your FOs well when you add them to your wax. I stir my wax for a good minutes or two once I add FO. It also makes a difference at least in parrafin what temp you add your FO at. I usually add mine at 180. Maybe someone can let you know if soy is the same as parrafin. Its very confusing, and sometimes I still get confused lol.
  13. They should work, I always believe in using what you have before you buy more:) The zincs seem to burn pretty well in that wax.
  14. I only ordered 10, but I am a small candle maker lol. I make them when I have time, 8 month old keeps me busy. Funny the shipping was almost as much as the FOs and I only live one state away.
  15. You could give them a call and see what they suggest. Sometimes colors look totally different on a computer screen.
  16. Large jars are best wicked with two with that wax. If you have zinc 44s, start out with two of those and go from there.
  17. I think you are right, the dark earth is closest I think.
  18. I wouldnt use the microwave if you have metal wick tabs in them tho. Only way I have ever removed wax from a jar is in the oven. Good luck.
  19. Those look great for your first try:) I dont usually heat my votive molds either, to lazy I guess. I pour usually around 170. Now you know what to do if you want rustics:)
  20. Well I have bought candles from YC and BBW, and they all mushroom. I personally dont have a problem with it. Makes me remember to trim my wick lol. I think alot of the big candle manufactors must use zinc wicks.
  21. How much FO do you put in your tarts? I would go the max for your wax. I always get very good throw with my tarts.
  22. I have heard somewhere you can use Dixie Cups for votives. Start with something small and simple. You can also make votives right in a glass votive jar. Sounds like fun a candle party:)
  23. Candlescience has a really good hot apple pie, very strong.
  24. Fresh and evergreen, the scent of juniper breeze is especially invigorating when waiting on a cool morning breeze. Fragrance Top Notes: Pineapple, Aldehyde, Apple, Leafy Green Fragrance Mid Notes: Jasmine, Ylang Fragrance Base Notes: Woods, Musk This is a description for it. How about naming it Evergreen Mist, or maybe Morning Juniper? Its a nice scent.
