I am a stay at home Mom of 3 great kids. I love candles and I am wanting to learn to make my own so I can enjoy them and give them as gifts. Maybe if I get good enough I can start my own candle business. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my famliy. and surfing the web for information on candle making. I live in a small town in INDIANA.

  1. I can totally understand using a milk jug for maybe some home crafting but not to use one and sell them to people. Like I said I tried to offer a bit of advice to these people ( even though I am new at this) but oh well . I just don't think that those people trying to make candles really fully understand the safety issues ! Oh well live and learn .santalol Have a GREAT week. My great week begins this Saturday! BROWN COUNTY INDIANA WATCH OUT HERE I COME .
  2. I am SO THANKFUL that I NEVER invested any $$ into this company, and to be honest I never invested much time either! I sure hope that the people that did invest $ get it all back but so far what I have read and the emails that I get it does not look good. Have a great day allsanta wink
  3. I was in Sweet Cupcake Candle Company, and I am out of it and the whole thing os a mess anyways. Well my rant is that some person on a group that I belong to is wanting to make their own candles. They said that they will use milk jugs, old juars or whatever it takes to make candles. So I posted the proper way to make candles on there and I am sure that I will get some heat from that person. I am NO expert at this but come on using milk jugs or old jars. I think that this person has NO clue on how to make candles, and I also voiced my thoughts of SAFETY!! OK off my soapbox now.
  4. I got out of Sweet Cupcake Candle Company lsat night and boy am I GLAD that I did. Sounds to me like a "scam" going on there. I am also GLAD that I DID NOT order anything from there, nor did I give any personal information out such as, SS# Credit card info., ect... I really feel sorry for the consultants that did give out all that info., and who did place orders there! I say NO THANKS, I'd rather make my own candles!
  5. Does anyone do candles & bath porducts? I am new and I am going to try candles first and then may try my hand at bath soaps, ect. Thanks in advance, Lisa
  6. OK now if you know anyone who is thinking about getting into Sweet Cupcake Candle tell them NOT TO DO IT. I guess that someone has reported SCC to some place on the net about rip-off companies, and that person said that SCC gets most of their products from SMC in CA. I looked at the SMC website , I guess that they drop ship items from there, ect.. I am going to opt out of SCC . SORRY I posted this again, I am sure that you are all "tired" of hearing this but I wanted to get you all up to date. I say people should save their time and money and make their own candles/bath products! I think that this company( SCC) has bit off WAY more than they can handle. Thanks for letting me post this here.santa big Lisa
  7. THAT I LOVE THIS DISCUSSION GROUP!!!! Sorry don't mean to seem as if I am shouting, but everyone here is SO NICE & HELPFUL! I come here to learn all that I can since I am starting to "learn" to make my own candles!! HAVE A GREAT DAYsanta chee Lisa
  8. I agree get the Presto Kitchen Kettle, I got one and that is what I am going to use when I get my stuff to start. santa big Can ya tell that I am ready for the holidays? LOL
  9. OK Here is the "411" on Sweet Cupcake Candle. First off my email has been flooded with all complaints about this company. Lot's of people are really pissed off because some have not recieved their stuff that they ordered, and I guess that the owner of the company made a comment on one of the boards that if they had to put Sweet Cupcake on the "back burner" for awhile then they will. That is not the correct way to run any business. I do realize that they have thousands of consultants but man that is just WRONG! I guess that lots of people feel sorry for the founder of this company coz she has a toddler and has another one on the way! I understand that part but if you start something you need to be able to complete it reguardless. RIGHT? I heard that some people are turning this company in to the BBB. I think that I will ahng loose just to acess the boards and see what really happens, in the meantime I am going to enjoy my self trying to make my own candles! WellI am off my soapbox LOL
  10. I don't think that I am going to stick it out with Sweet Cupcake. For one I have not heard anything about the smells of the candles and now it seems as if people can buy other stuff on the websites as well. Such as housewares, holiday gift items, ect.. I wonder where they got all this stuff in the first place to sell anyways. From what I did hear about the candles one gal said she ordered a few and the scents did not thrill her and the scents did NOT last more than 1 or 2 hours! If I would buy a candle I want it to smell good all the time whether it's burning or not! I say don't waste time and money joining a company like SCC. SORRY if I offended anyone on here but that's my 2 cents worth! ( I think that I will stick to learning to make my own candles)santa eek Lisa
  11. What is the difference between Soy Wax & Pariffin Wax? Does one burn better, does one smell last longer? Sorry I feel dumb asking this question but I am new at trying to make my own candles ( for a hobby at this time) and I want to get as much information on the both waxes before I even buy anything! Also what company offers the most & longest lasting fragrances? And what compnay offers the best wicks & containers for candles? Prefer a company that is the MOST reasonable price wise! Thanks, Lisa
  12. I was one of the jacka**es that joined Sweet Cupcake and so far I have not done a thing with it. I am not sure if it is really a lig. company or not. The sites were always up & down. And then when I would email support for questions I never got answers! So I am going to try my hand at making my own candles and if they turn out good I may even sell a few. Lisa
  13. I am wanting to make my own candles. I have a Presto Kitchen Kettle to melt the wax. Now I need to know where to get the best candle making kits? There are so many companies out there and I want to make sure that I choose a good one. Any suggestions would be very helpful:D Thanks, Lisa
