  1. I am using the 6006, I have cured for as little as 3 days with great throw. The 4630 is a blended paraffin.
  2. When I was pouring the 4630, I tried to wait two days. It doesnt need a long cure time I dont think.
  3. You can make it without wick. You can take a skewer to make a hole to put your wick in or poke the wick in when its almost set up. Just cut the tab out. If you have the wrong wick, you can yank it out and try another. You can also melt the wax out in a low oven. I have done that, when it gets smushy I use a icecream scoop to get it all out. And I just repour then. Good luck and welcome!
  4. You could wick down a little, or maybe if you are using a high amount of FO reduce that a little.
  5. You can get glue to dab on the jump ring opening. Look in the bead section at your local craft store. I hate those jump rings, I make jewerly and I am not buying jump rings any more. What a pain lol.
  6. We swaddled my little one until she was almost 3 months. We always left her arms out. She is now 10 months old. We use a sleepsack now which keeps her warm and feels more secure. She could try the sleepsack. They are generally sleeveless.
  7. I have small jars do that sometimes when they cool to fast. You can hit it with a heat gun. Maybe tap your jars more and pour slower.
  8. You need container wax tho for a container candle. Pillar wax is not gonna work well in a container. It will pull away from the sides, and probally not give very good hot throw as the melt point is much higher.
  9. The 4630 is very bad for lots of soot, so if you are use to a clean burning wax, I would not recommend it. Its very hard to wick also, and in a large jar I had the experience of looking like a torch sometimes to get a full melt pool. I just started using the 6006 so far its got great hot/cold throw. Still has to be wicked up alot but none of the soot with the 4630. The 6006 is a parasoy, low on the soy side. I think it has 20% soy.
  10. Most one pour waxs need to be wicked up alot. I dont know about your FO, maybe its a heavy one? All I can say is go up a wick size from your largest u have tried.
  11. Me too:) I live 5 minutes from Candlescience. They have great FOs, very strong.
  12. Are you using a scale? I think you probally didnt put enough FO in your candle. Also did you let it cure? Are you making pillars or containers?
  13. Yep its Disney:) But I do love that store, they have great bath bombs. They are alot cheaper than some other big stores that sell them. Yank@@ sells them in their big store in Virginia, and they were like $8 for one bath bomb.
  14. You could still burn your house down if you left one of those warmers on while unattended. I am a little scared of them.
  15. You will want a one pour wax if you dont want to do repours:) Thats what I use.
  16. Wax shrinks when it cools. Most waxes you need to do a repour and if making pillars poke relief holes. Look to the left side, there are basic instructions that are very helpful. Edited: I see you live in Raleigh, I live in Durham. THere is a very good supplier close to you in RTP called Candlescience. They have very good supplies, which you will need soon:) The stuff from the craft store isnt that great. Check them out on the web, you can pick up your orders and not pay any shipping.
  17. All those are already blended waxes, so dont know how they would do mixing them together. I love the 6006 wax.
  18. That wick doesnt looked centered to well:grin2:
  19. Those are neat, have never seen them before. They look so real.
  20. Lets see what did I do before the baby lol...Scrapbook, Stamp, Make Jewerly, and make candles. I am tryign to get caught up on the scrapbooking. I could open a store with all the supplies I have.
  21. I order alot of FOs from Candlescience. They are very reasonalbe. I love the Cranberry Marmalade, Blueberry Cobbler, Fruit slices, Cucumber Melon, just to name a few. There FOs are good and strong. I branched out recently and bought a bunch of 1 oz samples from AH. Just poured their Birthday Cake, man does my house smell good.
  22. Ok I was going thru some of my wicks I bought a long time ago from classifieds. THey are CD 12, and HTP 41. What size diameter jar would these burn? I also have a kit of Cotton Cores, do they work well in parasoy? Thanks, gonna go test out some RRDs right now in my 6006 wax.
