  1. Yeah... Duh me! But actually I was thinking of examples like... if for examples, tarts and votives were shrink wrapped... and want to show to people at work or wherever...that they could smell it without opening the package itself and also if ran out of samples or something happened to them? I think my question was wayyy too odd and wayyy out there and I'm not even sure if it was the right question!
  2. After reading through several of the posts here.... I had actually wondered if there was anything like stratch and sniff that you could place on the labels as well? Don't remember if this discussion about this was already talked about but no inquiries came up after I searched in the search box........... just curious to see if anyone knew it was out there?
  3. Not sure if you had noticed or not but I use my liquid dye remover and it REALLY does take the wax off! I had accidentally spilled some wax on the tiles and I grabbed the papertowel that had the remover on it and it just cleaned it off. Although it was a bit greasy feel like but I just took a dry papertowel and wiped it off after the remover... worked like a charm for me...I haven't seen any long term effect from using that!
  4. Well, I have always used steraic becuase when I did the comparison on the hurricane with and without... I found out that it looked alot better with the steraic in it... I print out pictures and etc on a transparent paper... which can be expensive but it works for me... also the steraic increases the hardness of the wax and also with the steraic, it gives me a nice glow all the way around... that's what works for me. I'll have to do some digging out to see if I can find some of my work to show you... I'm still waiting on when the hurricane wax would be in stock at Peaks because I prefer to order from them..... looks like I may have to wait until after the holidays to order because I got well, gee, a little bit distracted...
  5. I went back to look at the containers and discovered that the large square container, which is 4 inches tall and around as well as about 1/4 inch or less thick for the walls... well, anyways, I discovered that the rest of the variety of containers did not have, or just had a couple wet spots compared to the large square container... what I'm thinking here is... the thicker it is, the worse it is.... I also put the large square in the freezer for a few hours then took it out to set aside for a few days, to just experiment and after taking that out, there was NO wet spots at all. I thought that was pretty interesting enough to share with all of you. The wax did not come out of the container and was still ahered to the wall. As for the ones with the wet spots, I took my heat gun and saw the bubbles rise to the top, then i took the heat gun to the top and created a little ripple to even it all out on the top, tapped the jar quite a few times, and a few days later, still no wet spots... by the way, the throw is awesome and the wick is just great. Its awesome. My hubby came home from work early and had lit the two containers that I had set out to test and as soon as I walked in the door 10 minutes later (was Christmas shopping all day), I could smell it and it was amazing...
  6. Okies! Here are the pictures... I haven't been able to see any of the wetspots at all on any of the containers so far... *dark red is pomegrante *dark purple is lavender-vanilla... (looks like blue but its really a vivid purple) *light bayberry is vanilla mint *white is snow angels *cream (light brownish) is oatmeal, milk, and honey I'm still working on them.... going to put the labels on the bottom but right now, I just put them on the side for notes and testing...Please feel free to comment on anything... :embarasse
  7. My packages finally started arriving all this week from several of the suppliers after being backordered or out of stock for some time! I'm so happy now! Whoo! I was wondering what are the characteristics of a wax pulling away from the container jars? I had been digging around to see if I could find a picture that resembling that issue but no luck so far. I have some candles here that I just poured into the jars and I honestly do not think that they are pulling away from the walls because I had been heating up the containers before pouring. Just wondered about that. If you want me to post some pictures to get confirmation, let me know and I will be more than happy to post them. Although they are not completely cured yet.
  8. Hello! I'm new to this site but not a stranger to the candlemaking business in all aspects. I have been doing custom hurricane candles for 3 years for family, gifts, and etc and took a year and half of hiatus due to not having the space and as well as moving, and things that happen in life. I was just searching online one day and came across this site! I'm excited! I have been offered a couple business propositions in regards to the hurricane candles and for the life of me, I am afraid to try filling up the hurricane candles with a different type of wax in fear that the ACTUAL hurricane candle would melt along with the different wax inside... Hope that makes sense. Is there anyone on here that have tried this? I would include pictures but I don't have a working digital camera at the moment being What I do is I customize all the hurricane candles to anything... from memorial, weddings, baby showers, homecoming, graduations, birthdays, and so on! Please let me know if there is anyone that have tried this and the outcome of it.
