  1. I used to store mine in zip locked bags also. Then my supplier told me that storing scented chunks and/or leftover wax in zip lock bags draws the scent out of the wax. Now I store mine in aluminum foil. Works great for me. However, I have plastic storage containers that I got from the dollar store and store all my votives in them. Doesn't seem to draw the scent out. Wendy
  2. I have a roll of CDs that are not primed. Wendy
  3. Ok, I have another question about CDs. I have a bunch that are not treated. What type of wax and/or combination would you use to treat these wicks with?....Just plain parrafin? Wendy
  4. Thank you all for the compliments. Some will be given tomorrow. The rest are for the bosses at work...looking for a good raise this year!! Wendy
  5. Ha! I haven't given them out yet. You can say I'm a little late. I've been so busy filling orders before the holidays that I didn't have time to make my gifts until this week. Wendy
  6. Here are a few of my rustics I made for gifts. From left to right: 2 Pineapple Cilantro in Burgundy 1 Sweet Plum in Royal Blue 1 Sage in Green 1 Patchouli in Purple 1 Saguro Blossum in Rust 1 Seabreeze in Teal Thanks, Wendy
  7. I should have elaborated on the description but I was rushing to a nail appointment . They are scented Rose. First I tried sticking the hearts on with the hot glue gun...UGH!! Alls they did was slide off. Then tried wax. What a disaster that was!! My supplier suggested mod podge and that it would burn w/o any problems. Well that worked. After testing them, they burned great. It's amazing how long something that looks so simple can take weeks to get it right. Thank you all for your compliments. Wendy
  8. Here's an idea that I have been kicking around for a while. With lots of mishaps I finally got the look I wanted. Thanks, Wendy
  9. Thank you for the info Candle Man. Jane, I get my wax locally at Crockett Honey here in Arizona. The owner does test every shipment she gets in. I know that for a fact as I have been there when she was testing. Even when she gets different lot #'s in she will test each lot. She is very good at that. Has been making candles for a very long time. A wealth of informtion. I did call her today and she basically said the same thing Candle Man posted. Wendy
  10. I am beginning to really hate this wax. First I had problems with the wicks mushrooming. After I finally got that somewhat corrected, I began to make up my orders. It seems the 2nd slap of wax has water in it. At firsr I thought it was me and did something stupid and got water into the pot. After straining it w/coffee filters I thought I was good to go...NOT!! I started a new batch in another pot and sure enough there it was water again. Has this happened to anyone? Is this common? Wendy
  11. Thank you again all. There was a thread not to long ago on what your plans are for 2007. I mentioned that I wanted to get a new camera. The one I currently have is only a 3.0 mega pixel. I would also like to take a class on taking pictures/presentation. Wendy
  12. Thank you all. When he requested these colors I really wasn't sure. Made one first to see that is what he really wanted. Then took me a week to burn test it. He told me he is giving it to a female friend to "Wow" her and hopefully start a relationship. :awww: Wendy
  13. Thought I would share with you an order I just finished up that I received a while back. He wanted pink and red chucks. Scented in Vanilla Cream. Hope santa brings me a good quality camera. Thanks, Wendy
  14. Two things come to mind. 1) Need to get a good digital camera. The one I have does not take good pictures. 2) Get a "real" website going. I first need to work on presentation. I have a close friend that will build me a website. Wendy
  15. Sorry, I should have clarified that I am double wicking these containers. The package reads 2-3" for CD7s. I came to the conclusion that the CD8s are just too big. I am going to try the CD6s and see how they do. The containers are round, i.e., 3-1/2" mouth, 4-1/2 middle and 2-3/4 bottom. I mainly do pillars and not a whole lot of containers. So I am still learning. Especially with this wax. I just ran out of the J50 and my local supplier now only carries the 4630 so that is what I have to work with. In the past I haven't had much luck using a single wick in containers. I never seemed to get a full melt pool no matter how large of a wick I put in. I do have CD10, CD12, CD14s. These are not sooting just mushrooming. I am getting a good scent throw. Today they have reached the middle and still got a good pool of wax. Thanks, Wendy
